DSLRs keep their value very well, particularly Nikon and Canon cameras because they are professional tools. On top of that, a bottom-line DSLR from 10 years ago will still produce higher quality pictures than any point and shoot/cell phone camera that comes out today due to the better designed sensors and frankly massive lenses. If you can find one that's $100 less than the original MSRP, you've got a deal on your hands, even if it's old.

This is entertaining however people also need to be aware that pre-built desktop PCs are usually sold at a inflated price compared with custom building it on your own, even if you buy a second-hand pre-built. Their target market are not tech-savvy users but the ill informed consumer who have no idea how to build one or just can't be bothered to take their time building one. In this case, the guy who advertise the PC build in the video is obviously somekind of scalper who bought a pre-built and is re-selling it as his/her own at a overly inflated price.

I actually had a guy call the police on me over this shit recently. I called him out on a FB sale group and he went ballistic crying about slander and defamation. It was hilarious, needles to say he was not mentally stable. Long story short he was trying to sell an 860k 750ti 8gb build for 900$ "professionaly overclocked to perfection" "gently used" you can see why I would call him out

I see similar ads in every city's Craigslist I look in. Occasionally I see the same (or very nearly the same) listing in far-apart cities. Those are the easy ones to spot. A good thumb-rule to use is look for a similarly equipped refurbished system on a major retailer's web site. You'll never find an exact match, but you'll find something that will help give you an estimate of what the system should be worth. And I never even engage with posters who don't list their system specifications and are asking for more than $100.

Might add there a cost for building the system. Most outlet charge around $100 either they include it in the cost of the parts or add it to the bottom line.

I love this. Keep exposing these dirtbags. It’s con artists like this that make legit sales harder.

This reminds me of when I used to read the classified ads in 1985 and laugh my ass off. They would say something like "IBM PC with dual 5.25 floppy drives, color monitor, DOS 5.1, Word Perfect for DOS, paid $6,500 three years ago, asking $5,500". And they'd be surprised no one wanted to buy it at that price. It's a fact that computers depreciate faster than other machines do. Everyone knows that a 4-month-old car isn't worth as much money as a brand new car. Why on Earth would you think that a 4-month-old computer ought to be worth as much as a brand new computer?

It’s like showing off their Honda Civic with all the mods asking close to $10 grand.
