Tremendously helpful teaching in this clip. I've never before juxtapositioned these passages alongside each other in such a way as to see the completeness (all that we need) right there in God's word, just waiting for, and calling for us to come and be blessed in such ways. Praise God!

Mr. C Yes, in the original languages. Translates to English isn’t so easy. Also, we are to find mentors to help us and then there’s the Holy Spirit to help. That’s what I was taught. Correct me where I’m incorrect. :)
@mr.c24855 жыл бұрын
Dorkchop If you can hear the Holy Spirit why would you need a mentor? And, if a translation complicates the message then it’s not to be trusted.
@kennypowers175 жыл бұрын
Mr. C I don’t have the complete answer for you. I do know that I get help from my Pastor some times and I also have things that are blurry become clear over time without asking my Pastor. The translations make it hard for simple men like me, but for others it’s clear. I believe the Bible to be trusted.

I love how you teach and I love your passion for God, His word and His will but I'm mind boggled by your brief against free will and try reading and praying these words. You are by far one of the greatest teachers on the modern world. You literally ask God to "incline, open, unite and satisfy" your heart. You willingly acknowledge that you surrender your will to His will. As much as I've listened to and read all different sides of the debate on free will, Calvinism speaks louder than the bible.

truthseeker89 for life That happens to everyone who reads it. Question is why do we all read it differently and draw different meanings from it. Have twenty people read a single page and see how many different opinions you get. Why is that?
@Unconformed.RenewedDaily5 жыл бұрын
The scripture has a divine author, and as you men know, that's the Holy Spirit. He moved the human authors to record the entire Bible we have today. So our confidence in the pure meaning of the text comes from our confidence in God working through devoted men to pen what we read. The Prophets and Apostles were writing in a certain context and that context should never be dismissed. Some people tend to read their circumstances into the text rather than relying on the author to dictate the meaning, hence the 20 different interpretations. We will grasp the truth of the text as we like @truthseeker89 does, submitting to God desiring to feed us as children and submit our understanding of the text to the context of the author. Remember the whole book is about Jesus. And remember the gospel is woven throughout; our complete need of our Savior Jesus and His perfect salvation works attained to us by faith. Continue to hunger, love (like Pastor Piper mentioned) for the word. Continue to hunger for the Truth it prescribes. Continue pray for His interpretation of His word for His glory and may God bring joy to you while you do so!

Mr. C - it’s simple, just compare the characters and teachings of the main players - one stands head and shoulders above all others - the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ (God made Flesh) says it all. Only Christ did it all for us lost sinners - other religions rely on our own efforts and lead to Hell. If you come to any other conclusion you are spiritually blind.

7:17 I love the imagery, but a metronome goes back and forth in equal intervals which is inaccurate. I feel like it’s more like an old fashioned scale with two plates being hung by chains on an axis point. -On the left side we have all of these things that we love and cherish that we turn to for enjoyment and entertainment, but aren’t in tune with God. Not all of these items are fixated on good or evil just that none of them are fixated on God and distract us from Him. -On the right side is loving God and His word with all different forms of worship and praise, honing our mind on the Great I Am. -A beautiful part of this picture is that some of these things are interchangeable in that they can go on either side, distracting us from God or turning us to God. I ask God to push down on the right scale so I can remember what matters most again. I also pray that he’d help take my distractions and put them where they belong, either on the right side of the scale or not on the scale at all.
@misspriss24824 жыл бұрын
When he used a metronome, I think he was saying that most Christians tend to go back and forth. We generally don't stay hot or cold; sometimes our hearts lean to the left and sometimes they lean to the right. However, I like the way that you explained it as well. What's tricky is that there are definitely some things that can distract us from or turn us towards God. A good example of this is when a brother or a sister asks us to get involved with a church activity. If God didn't call you to do that or your plate is full already, this very good thing can become a hindrance because it will cause you to neglect what God gave you to do.

The Best Way to Read the bible is With Jesus Help! Jesus will Show you the verses Relevant to Your life..you can mark them..so you can go Back and Know what to Read again to Benefit you Specifically for your Life..and you won't need to waste time again reading useless stuff. Matthew 5 6 7 is Especially Important! It gives you Jesus Plan of Salvation Complete! Gods Laws and and everything you need to Know to Please God..and it will Keep you Safe from the Many False doctrines taught you by Men!
@mr.c24855 жыл бұрын
kathleen Wharton I prefer krishnas plan of salvation. Much more digestible without all the drama. It’s refreshing to the soul and body. Praise Krishna!
@kathleenwharton21395 жыл бұрын
+Mr. C.. Krishnas plan of salvation is Not as practical as Jesus. With Jesus we get to Live..rather than sit under a tree and feel Nothing. I agree with you on the bible. The Real Value in the bible is Gods Laws in the OT and NT. The rest of the bible is just commentary on How people Do NOT Obey Gods Laws! Jesus Gave Gods Laws in Matthew 5 6 7. They are basically..Repent of your Pride..Lust..Anger and Greed. Which is pretty much what Krishna teaches too. Piper Does NOT Teach Jesus Gospel on this Site..He teaches a Twisted version that is Totally opposite of what Jesus actually Taught.
@mr.c24855 жыл бұрын
kathleen Wharton It’s refreshing to find someone out there with an understanding of the difference between rules and regulations and what they are actually designed to do for us. I don’t believe the Bible to be a book of compliance but rather a book of exposure. No one can comply with what’s in scripture anyway but the weakness that it exposes in us can indeed be embraced and used as the only way to love and forgive the way that Christ taught. Kudos to you!
@kathleenwharton21395 жыл бұрын
+Mr. C..The Wholly Bible! Gods Laws are Most Important! But most of the bible is men's laws and what NOT to Do! It is Hard to keep our Pride..Anger..Lust and Greed in check..it is good Jesus gave us Forgiveness..but people need to be trying! Instead of being Taught that it's a sin to Obey Gods Laws..as they are taught Here. Jesus Gospel has Been So Twisted.

Here's some verses from your favorite portion to debunk your position: Regarding "useless stuff" in scripture: Matt 5:17&18 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Regarding not listening to men, even those who rightly teach God's word : Matt 5:19 but whoever does them and teaches them (talking about the scriptures) will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Will you now change your position, or remove these verses as "useless stuff" too?

The Pharisees did exactly what this guy is talking about. They knew every word of the scriptures. And yet, Jesus was constantly at odds with them even calling them names. Needless to say, reading, memorizing, and quoting scripture does nothing to guarantee the knowledge of god. This guy is just a cheerleader. There is zero content in what he’s saying.

And yet you're here. And not learning or willing to learn anything, just spewing slander. Understand that you will stand before Christ one day to give account for this filth.

Mr. C saying that Mr. Piper is doing the same as the pharisees shows that you didn’t get the point of the video nor got the fact that we are dependant of Jesus everyday and reading His Word get us to know Him more as He reveals Himself through It(He can also use different means for that). Also the pharisee may have knew the word but didn’t knew the Word
@HearGodsWord5 жыл бұрын
The Pharisees didn't do exactly the same. If you think that then you've not understood.
