I needed this so badly!!! This happened to me last week. I did a team relay event. I had done the distance training in running but the event was straight hiking in the mountains, it was below freezing, my second leg of the race was also at midnight and i was so scared. I was incredibly nervous, marathon runners were coming back and saying it was one of the hardest theyve done and that was during the day.The shock on my body was crazy and I got through the hardest part of my second leg, had two miles and couldn't finish. The shame, guilt and embarrassment i felt was overwhelming. I was crying on my way home and I thought maybe this is your sign you can't do this stuff. I'm also persistent and stubborn like you in my ambitions and quickly dismissed that. I know I will get it in the future and I know you will too. I just wanted to let you know this video has been incredibly inspiring to me and it could not have been at a better time.

I cannot thank you enough for showing these “failures,” it means so much to those of us struggling along as well. To show the road to the achievement in all its low points illustrates the whole point of distance running in the first place. These of course aren’t failures, they are part of the improvement and learning along the way, and many of us need to see this and not just the finish line. Keep up the great work, the goal is within reach.

100% you made the right call. As someone who lives in a very cold country, it’s the thing we had drilled into us as kids: when you start shivering, get inside. ASAP. Especially if you’re wet. If you were shivering and not able to get dry clothes on and warm up a bit, you could have ended up with hypothermia. Also, I was so nervous watching you run in the wet in the dark. The last thing you needed was to slip and twist your ankle AGAIN. Every time you attempt this goal, you’re learning so much, you’re building up a wealth of knowledge and experience. You will absolutely NAIL this one, Natacha. So long as you want to, you will do it. Mario is such a pet. The hair!!! Classic. Was so excited to see you’d uploaded. Always love to hear what you’ve been up to. Sending you a pixel hug and lots of love. You never cease to inspire.

Natacha - I was at Canal Corridor and Tunnel Hill. In Tunnel Hill, we were near each other for miles 25-50. You were super cheerful and supportive of all the other runners. Loved your spirit out there. I saw you start cruising again around mile 45, and when I got to mile 50 a few minutes after you, you were stretching just past the finish line - I wish I had known you were going for 100 miles...we'd have gotten you to that finish. Keep getting after it! You'll learn from each one. I failed in my first 2 100 mile attempts and I've not completed 40 of them. Of my 5 I did not complete, 4 of them are Tunnel Hill - and this year was my first Tunnel Hill 100 mile finish. I found the key was to not stop at the start area where my car was...and never go into those super warm tents - people go into those warm tents and never come back. You looked really strong going into mile 50 - you've got the ability to finish one, and I'd bet on you being able to finish a 200+ miler too! Get another one on your schedule - you'll crush it!

So grateful and excited to see awareness for Endo growing!! I had no clue that it even existed until I met my wife in 2015. The next 6 years was filled with tons of pain, tons of medication, a few surgeries, and anything in between to gain relief. After about the 6th different OB, we found a routine that fit her body and supressed her pain so she could have a normal life. We are now 4 months pregnant with all green lights across the board for a healthy pregnancy. We absolutely could not be more excited and ready to SHOUT that there is life after ENDO and there is a chance to find relief after years of struggle.

@jessieliana Finding a doctor that listens to you and has knowledge of endo is crucial. Limiting foods and drinks that aggravate endo (just basic research). My wife found a birth control that worked for her and she always skipped the sugar pills, causing her to skip her period. That was a game changer for her. That doesn't work for everyone, but it gave her a much better quality of life. She stopped taking the birth control when we started trying again. She had a few hard months during her cycle, but nothing like she had experienced in the passed.

Stopping was 100% the right call, without a doubt in my mind. Your perseverance is so much more inspiring than to do ONE race. The fact of showing the process of different conditions (rain and heat), injuries, your period, stomach issues... it shows how most of us would probably experience a race. That it won't be the first one, but after multiple attempts. You continue to run, to go through healing, revisit, rehab, and adjustments allow us to see how the process truly is AND TO KEEP GOING. When I was teaching surfing, I always used to tell my students: “If you aren’t falling, you aren’t learning.” Because you literally fall constantly when surfing, especially as a beginner. Falling is also how you learn to surf properly. I live far from the ocean now, but I still use that phrase ALL THE TIME. Thank you for sharing the stumbles & falls, demonstrating all you’ve learned. THAT is more valuable than a win, although the wins are easier to share & more fun to have. Totally here for the ups & downs. You’re awesome ❤

You don’t know HOW happy I am for you!!!! Isn’t it the best feeling in the world to actually love it?? I hope as many people feel that way as humanly possible and I’m so happy for you! A half marathon sounds very very fun!! I hope you’ll keep me updated on how it’s all going 👏

I love how real you are and how much courage you showed in this video! I'm running my first half marathon and I've been really scared that I wont be able to do it. Im still going to train my hardest, but thank you for what you said about the importance of persistance!

I'd love to hear your 100-mile playlist! Also, your persistence is the ultimate motivator. Thank you for sharing your "failed" attempts. I feel like that part of the journey is not frequently shown and that's just another reason I admire your content so much.

that would be so cool to share: I also have a playlist of everyone's favourite happy songs from a poll on my Instagram and honestly it's *chef's kiss* of the highest order! I'll do my best to compile them and share on the next (and final 😅) ultra video!

I can't believe you do an ultramarathon. And I can't believe it further that you attempted it THREE TIMES. UNBELIEVABLE Natacha🤯🤯🤯🤯. We all know the courage to start doing something is grave. but trying again and again??!!! and like I said, it is unbelievable already that you went for an ultramarathon OMG girl. Thank you for such a dope and mind blowing content as always.

Natache, from a Pacific Island girl in New Zealand who is struggling to keep getting up to try again with fitness and health I just want to say - thank you. You are the real deal 💛 You're honesty, dedication and authenticity is why I have followed you for years now! You are an inspiration and thank you so much for the opportunity to have a window in your world. So much love xx

the fact that your unfinished 100mi races still mean you did THREE ultramarathons this year is an amazing feat itself. You inspire me so much. Thank you for posting the *whole* journey and consistently being the real-est fitness creator I know.

thank you Cathie! The mind does powerful things! I wasn't sure about uploading this video and I wasn't expecting to not manage to get it done 3 times in a row 😂 but I felt I should share how imperfect the journey was for any perfectionists out there ❤ hopefully it feels similar to how it felt for me - a true rollercoaster 😂 it'll feel so sweet when I get it! xxx

You made the right decision. Reflecting when we feel well isn’t fair to the self that was in poop conditions and had to decide. You accomplished an incredible feat. Stopping and listening to your body is very respectable!

Girl, you’re an absolute legend. I would’ve given up ages ago. In fact, if I’m very honest, I wouldn’t even have attempted the first run in the first place, but you’ve tried over and over again and you’re not done yet. Very well done. Massive inspiration!

I missed you so so much but I knew you were up to something special. I appreciate you taking us on this journey with you and I can't wait to see you cross that finish line. You are the perfect combination of persistent, positive, and patient and I find that incredibly inspirational. You'll get there. I know it. You know it. We all know it. I take better care of myself because of you. I hope you know that's probably true for a lot of your subscribers. So thank you for reminding me that I deserve to be healthy and proud of myself, always. I love you for that! P.S. Huge shout out to Mario! What a supportive king.

My mom has always asked me if I have anybody I look up to. And I’ve never had an answer. Or at least I’ve never felt that people should be put on a pedestal and looked up to, because we are all human, making mistakes, living our lives. But I’ve come to find that I look up to you, and that you inspire me beyond words to keep pushing and trying for what I want. Whether that be in my undergrad, or trying to be a better version of myself through athletic, or more generally, life. You are such an inspiration to me and I can’t thank you enough for being who you are ❤️

I am so damn proud of you! You say you don’t like talking about something without action, but every minute of what you showed us was months of action and moving towards your goal, regardless of if you have hit it yet or not. Honestly it’s more inspiring that you have kept at it, than if you had achieved it your first go. I am so happy you are back and I can’t wait to see you make it happen! ❤

Rehab is so frustrating! Thank you for keeping it real. I've had a really hard time since my car accident having to work back up to how healthy I was before. It's like, "I shouldn't need to work on this, I was perfectly fine before, now I'm not even making progress, I'm just regaining lost ground." Super upsetting, but I'm so proud of how you listen to your body and pick yourself back up after every let down. Stay strong and rest up! ❤

there aren't many channels here on YT that I actively go and check if they've uploaded any new videos, but you are one of them! Lovely to see you out there killing it despite the injuries and setbacks ; . ; and the fact you ran these on your period! Incredible :')

“Things don’t go right the first time; or even the second or third time.” I needed that reminder. I am such a hardcore perfectionist that I cannot bring myself to try new things because I know I won’t be “good” at them the first time I try. Thank you for reminding me that things do not always go as you planned, but that does not make them unworthy endeavors. Perfection is a myth and no one is a master their first attempts; moreover, you are not a failure if those first attempts do not pan out. Love you and all you do❤

The message at the end is somehow just what I needed to hear about a completely unrelated topic. I have been having a breakdown this morning because I've been searching for a job for months now, waiting for the next chapter of my life to finally begin, but it's just not happening at all how I wanted it to or expected it to. I'm so sad but I keep trying and trying and hoping that one of these times, it all works out. Thank you!

going through health stuff and have had no energy to run the 10 or more miles I used to do on the regular. this video while your struggles are different than mine really just helped me a lot. I've been feeling horrible because my conditioning is gone and I feel really held back by my health at the moment. its nice to see that it doesn't always go according to plan even for the elites (of which I consider you one). thanks for this video! I hope we can both accomplish what we want to within the next year :)

I believe that this kind of sport is completely different from other in the fact that the very first goal is NOT to win an ultramarathon but to "simply" finish it! Everything has a different weight here so it's just normal to need different attempt just to complete the first ultra. Sometimes we just see athletes when they already overcame the moment you are in, thus making it seem easy not only to finish an ultra but also to win it. I believe what you are showing is the most inspiring moment, so I don't think you need to thank us for being patient. The most inspiring thing is seeing you enjoying the process, meaning also experience not only positive emotions along the way. Just keep going, but most importantly, keep enjoying it

Thank you for showing your journey. Thank you for using your platform for normalizing “failure” but still keeping at it. We need more people to show this side of the reality of our goals. Not everything is picture perfect on our first attempts. So, for that, thank you.

Girl. You are A ROCKSTAR. Rain, Darkness, No sleep.. it gets so emotional. I did a 100km march and had to stop after 70 due to blisters, and that's not even nearly as tough as what you did! And I felt super emotional after being cold, in the dark and wet for a while. Did not expect the toll this type of endurance has on the mind. So, you did AMAZINGLY. You are the absolute inspiration out there. You can be beyond PROUD of yourself. Thank you for sharing your progress and determination!

Your resilience in keep showing up and keep trying is just so impressive. I have been dealing with REDS and a stress fracture this year and when I thought I was finally able to come back to running, I now have issues with shin splints that prevent me from even dreaming about entering a race again.. But your video motivated me to stay positive and keep putting in the work! You are such an inspiration!
