The start menu is a great example of why I don't like Windows 11. Sure you can group apps, but now you have added another layer. It's the theme of Windows 11 for me. Everything that was easy before on W10 now requires a couple of more clicks to navigate. They've changed things for the sake of changing instead of the changes actually adding a benefit. I don't know if they've fixed this with an update, but changing my audio output device was such a pain on W11. On W10, I just click on the little speaker icon and select my device.

hey dude, just discovered this video thus commenting late but if the theme is throwing you off then it would be the problem, but for me the start menu became more useful to me, I can click my most used apps easier than clicking generic blue tiles or scrolling a long list so that's a plus, if you also upgrade on their beta you also have an app volume control so that's more useful to me so they're changing things for the better and they know they're lacking on simple things on windows11

Thanks for the warning. It's the little workflow quirks in an OS that fatigue the crap out of me. Some casual users have all the time in the world to work through these issues. That is not the case for everyone. I might try it on another system. I new look doesn't mean anything to me if there is a pointless learning curve for no good reason. 11 still seems like a downgrade for my purposes.

For me, upgrading to Windows 11 would be a nightmare. The reasons for this is when you have SO MANY Music plugins for FL Studio, and ALL the Licenses, I don't want to deal with having to reinstall, and reactivate LITERALLY everything. I just can't seem a compelling reasons to switch, even if Windows 10 support ran out, It's just not worth it. I have Windows 11 on my Dell E5450 and I hate it. It's a slow laggy mess on an i5 5300-U. Windows 11 came out for no reasons really and it just doesn't seem like that good to bother with.

The thing I like about Windows 11 is that it makes me feel better about having 10. :P Seriously though, about the only thing I like in this new OS is the rounded corners. Windows 7 still did that better, since there's still no aero-style translucency. All the new apps look far worse. File Explorer? Start Menu? Taskbar? All they did was remove the options that were previously easy to access and hide them behind obtuse, simplistic icons that you don't know what many of them mean or do until you scroll over them. Or hiding more options behind an extra click on the three dots. Just really stupid changes. Did they forget they were programming an OS for the PC, not a smartphone?! Hiding things away to save space only makes sense on a small device (and most smartphones these days aren't even small anymore). Yeah...I'm sticking with 10.

Really though I do feel that like there is a little of bias in the smoke you are giving off genuinely while the new os uses more resources the design is modern, sleek and beautiful arguably better than windows 7 it is very easy to see the past in rose tinted glasses whereas it is just nostalgia speaking this is what people did when windows 10 was released saying that they will be sticking to windows 7 because 10 has poor performance and now with 11 the same cycle is repeating when in reality the change will be inevitable eventually when windows 11 becomes fully optimized like windows 10 passed through phases of improvement through updates people just start rattling off the os without staying patient

After more than a year of hesitation i finally install 11 22H2 today. not so many difference for me, the major change is the taskbar icons in the center. i was thinking about a drastic changes but nothing special or too different. I see the apps and commands more responsive and faster opening which is the most important thing. certainly it will took some days to catch the hand but i'm glad i did the upgrade, I reccomend it.

I installed Windows 11 on a separate partition. I battled with it for a week, the screen kept losing the background going black. The start menu has become complicated. The Quick Launch toolbar is gone. Then an update caused it to restart with flashing screens. Managed to roll back the update, but have lost faith in Windows 11. So I found a better use for that partition I created....

Been using Windows 11 for over a year now and I gotta say, that I like the OS and its performance, but I also understand the issues with it, and also have some concerns for it too. When I first heard of Windows 11, I was surprised that Microsoft made a new version of Windows, as Microsoft did say that Windows 10 is the last version of Windows. At that time, I had a HP pavilion laptop running Windows 10 that i got in 2019. My brother has a Acer laptop from 2021 that had Windows 10 installed from the factory. My brother upgraded to Windows 11 with the free upgrade. His experience was good as it upgraded to Windows 11 successfully, although it did have some bugs that was eventually fixed with future windows updates. I decided to keep my HP on Windows 10 as I wanted to give Windows 11 a year or two to get optimized and fix the bugs before I consider upgrading and I was already happy with Windows 10. My HP is compatible with Windows 11 though. Two years later, I finish high school, and my Pavilion did survive, though it was falling apart, had its second battery installed, the left hinge broke in summer of 2022 requiring a repair. I did the repair as I didn’t want to think about buying a laptop at that time, and since the time I got my pavilion the laptop would blue screen once in a while due to an issue with the usb driver. And after high school, it got worse as it would blue screen more frequently and the screen would randomly black out when it restarted and the cpu would get hot but the fans wouldn’t spin. I did get it fixed since then. Thats when I finally thought of getting a new machine. And because of my experience with the pavilion, i wanted to get something durable and reliable. And not something flimsy. I decided to buy the Lenovo Thinkpad Z16 which is by far the best laptop I have owned so far. Its solid, tough, and no bugs at all, it has never had any blue screens at all too. It came pre installed with Windows 11 and it did take a little getting used to at first. When I was setting it up, I changed a lot of the personalization settings and other settings. After a while using 11 and starting college, I grew to like the OS, it felt like Windows 10 without the excess bloatware. There is still quite a bit on 11 but it’s not extremely messy like the live tiles in Windows 10. And the start menu is more organized. Windows settings is like 10 but with a few extra settings. And the file explorer is also good with the new tabs feature and layout. One of the things I didn’t like was the task bar, since you cant move it anywhere, and the right click only brought up taskbar settings and not the box in Windows 10, and thats how i would usually open task manager. They did add it in a later update but that was one of my first gripes. Also its not common that older software from xp or vista are compatible with newer Operating Systems. But with 11 some programs from 10 weren’t compatible with 11. Which is a bummer. That was my only issues with personal use. But seeing what other people experienced too is quite concerning. One is the increased system requirements. Since Windows 11 doesn’t have 32 bit OS anymore, the ram requirement increased from 2 GB to 4GB, minimum storage went from 20GB to 64GB, and the display requirement also went up too. A lot of older machines would probably run Windows 11 fine even with the increased requirements, maybe with a hard drive or ram upgrade, nothing crazy. But TPM 2.0 is required now. Which is a big problem since alot of older machines that may run 11 fine could be obsolete since it doesnt have TPM 2.0. I guess a 32 bit version without the Tpm requirement would allow older machines to run and keep 64 bit with that requirement. Since 64 bit is more common than 32 bit and TPM 2.0 was standard in 2014. I understand that microsoft increased the requirement for security purposes but with many older machines not having tpm 2.0 would be a huge problem since it would generate alot of E waste and with Windows 10 support ending next October, it is going to be a big issue when that time comes. The other concerning things are that Microsoft is doing to Windows like the amount of permissions to use your data, requiring a microsoft account to set up 11, and most concerning is the requirement of a user facing webcam for laptops and 2 in 1s starting last year. So those concern me for privacy, security, and ownership reasons since it looks like its becoming more of a subscription service instead of you owning your copy of Windows with a one time install and activate and necessary reinstalls and reactivations. So i will say that Windows 11 isnt bad, but it needs lots of work done to make it better for most people upgrading their machines. That includes lower system requirements, compatibility with older machines, less bloatware, more customization by expanding Windows settings and control panel to an extent. And better support with older and legacy software. Also I wish Microsoft would focus on making more useful features, lower system requirements, longer support and not treat it like a Subscription service so it can run better and people will have a reason to upgrade Windows. I wouldn’t mind buying a Windows 11 pc brand new. But I wouldn’t upgrade a laptop that is even running Windows 10 to 11. I would rather use 11 over 8 and 8.1 any day though. Thats my experience with Windows 11 and Im would like to hear other peoples experiences.

the problem with windows 11 is that they tried to simplify the UI (example when right clicking, there’s a new “simple” menu) to accommodate for the less tech savvy and make the OS seem simpler and easier to learn. But the downside to this is that more things are hidden, adding an extra click or two and making things harder for doing more advanced tasks that more skilled users will do. Windows 10 was a perfect blend between simplicity and practical but Microsoft is taking the simplistic route which makes Windows 11 harder/less convenient to use for anyone other than a grandma.

Startbutton ok minor headache, but there a software from third party like StartIsBack. Win10 have codebase from 2015 but Win11 very modern one. Tabs are cool! If you figure out a way around it as soon as there is an update, Windows does it again. And each and every time you open Windows browser, it begs you to make it default. I still use a very old version of Office. It still works and my needs are tiny. One time, Microsoft simply replaced it with some kind of new version of Office that requires you to log in. So I click on the icon to launch excel and it launches a NEW excel and asks me to log in. It was an unbelievable thing that Microsoft did. I could not figure out how to even uninstall it and put back my copy which does not require a log in. And when I finally got it uninstalled there became a missing dll and the PC was not right after that. So I had to wipe the whole PC and reinstall everything. Also, the only new feature for Windows that actually isn't put there for Microsoft to monetize me is the multi-clipboard. Everything else is not for the user. It's for Microsoft. New features in Mac OS are often exciting and useful and excellent. The 2 big problems with Mac OS is the cost, and the backwards compatibility issues.

Still on 10 here. The first reason for your change, "works best for your business" makes sense. I lost you on point two, where you said "I wanted a new experience" ... Nope. That new experience for little reason gonna cost a bunch for so many. If it aint broke......... Til you have to.

how it comes that anti spy windows software is gold Microsoft partner ? just asking, because it got literally zero sense. If Microsoft would be keen for anti spy, why would windows not come with single option in menu to stop spying on you 😃
