One if the Best tools I ever bought was an oil sucker, you can take most out up through the dipstick tube before cracking the sump plug open.

I had all sorts of issues with my cclass with same engine, had dpf gutted egr and swirl flap delete and a stage 1 and it’s been fine ever since

You can’t just map the egr out and but keep the dpf, the egr is needed for the dpf to function properly.

@@jordonjoseph2328 would just be easier for the both of us if you do a quick Google search to see that you are both very much wrong, in answer to you question no I don’t remap cars but I’m a mechanic of 24 years. Below taken from hales Owen remaps, “Yes, the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve is needed for the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) to work properly. The EGR valve works by recirculating exhaust gas into the engine intake system, which helps the engine computer keep the exhaust gas hot to regenerate the DPF. If the EGR valve is stuck or not working properly, the DPF will stop regenerating and can become clogged with soot.”

Ive got a 14 plate e250 estate had a nox sensor issue and so i had nox delete egr delete adblue delete vmax and a stage 1 remap makes it so much faster and fixes the problem. £681+ vat EACH for the nox sensor plus 4-5hours labour about 1700-1900 or £300+ vat on a tune. Easy decision.

I found that some remaps that haven’t been done properly on a rolling road by one of the big companies, can make the duty cycle of the injectors work either harder or just not right, making the engine sound harsher, but usually engines sound much worse on camera / phone recordings :)

@@piovo1 very difficult to tell over a phone / camera recording, but with the 4 mercs I’ve had and 2 being diesel, I tried some generic maps from mobile companies and found the car performance better but wasn’t as good as having it done properly on a rolling road, and the amount of smoke I was getting was terrible, when I had it re done by a company with a rolling road, the car had even more power, less smoke and even economy was better,

When removing a brake disks the bolts were trying to round when i used a ratchet so i used a light impact and it removed them no issue, just a tip for the future

My grandad use to change his own oil in engine and gearbox in his 2.8 granada then he dug a hole in garden and poured it in and it went in the ground gone .

I wish my oil leak was that simple on my E350, turns out mine was the oil cooler seals (Big Job) took me just over one day to do… very common on this engine, bet yours is the same and still leaking after replacing the sump plug and washer.

I always put a large rubber mat 6ft by 4ft under the drain bowl just in case there is spillage.

Why delete the EGR from the ECU, just fix the EGR issue? I think it will be more expensive to fix the DPF issues than it would to fix the EGR but I could be wrong, if you're gonna delete the EGR, might aswell of deleted the DPF aswell, would have worked out cheaper.
