@@Nadestraight Just because another channel makes a type of video doesn't mean you can't bring your perspective as well. Their audience may enjoy a fresh take on the lore, or maybe you can bring halo lore to another section of youtube viewers that has not yet engaged with halo lore, like myself. Just food for thought

Don't think about the "3 way split" as a bad thing, these genres have overlap. You have a fanbase of a bunch of nerdy topical gamers! That's a good thing :3

I personally think that growing a channel slowly and picking up a loyal audience over time is a much healthier way of growing a channel rather than 1 video going viral and then having a bunch of inactive subscribers. I personally like ur commentary videos the most keep it up.

When you mentioned gaming content, it would be nice to see first impression videos - like right now the steam nextfest is on, so you could cover some demos - meaning you wouldnt need to purchase those games if you didnt want to. The other thing would be gaming news specific to the genre you are interested in. If the people are staying for you and watching you play games then im pretty sure they would like to see you talk about it. I mean it could be anything - upcoming games you are interested in, older games like retro reviews (if you are into that sort of thing) maybe even go down the podcast route once you get a foothold on your audience.

I'm here because of that I lost my job to AI video. I never was a Halo guy buy you talking over the gameplay is interesting. The new game you're working on seem interesting, maybe make weekly dev log on that. Playing new games and reviewing them might be interesting too. I think the most important thing is to keep posting video on a schedule so youtube don't help you but that just my humble opinion :D

my advice/opinion is make a webpage where your loyal community thats subbed to you can link youtube on your webpage, and at your webpage separate videos into topics, because every channel if you go close to the oldest video that said channel had made...the timeline flow always seems clunky, and it makes sense, if you cant pick a specific niche, instead of not talking about AI just make the description more rich with information, let ppl know u got a website where the library is more sorted out and ppl can pick too

The decline after something going viral can really sting, but its really impressive to see how you're handling it. It's clear that you are level-headed and its really cool to hear you say that you have no hard feelings about anything.

By the way, the community post talking about your video helped me see that you posted a new video (i don't really check my subscription feed). Also, community posts in general are heavily pushed by the algorithm, so they can help promote your videos

I don't have a ton of time to watch this video, but I do have time to quickly type something out. Going too viral too fast is a really, really bad situation for a youtube channel because of how the algorithm works. You get a bunch of people who hit subscribe because they want to support you, or it's just a habit, or they were asked to and did it from compulsion. Now you have a ton of subscribers who your videos are being sent out to. The problem arises when people are suggested your video (an impression) and they don't click. Your videos get sent out to your subs first, they don't click, and then you have a low click through rate. This means youtube thinks it's a "bad" video and won't spread it around. So now you have about 16k impressions who won't click your videos instead of your core audience of ~1000 who would click it. It also means that KZbin won't show it to all of your subs who may have wanted to click it because of the bad clickthrough rate. A lot of people claim "Damn, I'm not getting notifications from this channel I'm subbed to!!! KZbin sucks!!!" and it's actually because they *are* getting recommended the videos and don't notice/ ignore them to the point where youtube thinks you don't wanna see that content anymore. I subscribed because I felt bad for your awful situation and wanted to help out, but I've found myself not clicking your videos because my usual content that I watch takes priority in my limited time. However, the thought that goes through my mind is "Well, I don't want to forget this guy and want to help, so I'll just watch something of his another time." This mindset keeps a ton of people becoming bad impressions for your channel, and causing your content to ket killed off by the algorithm. I really wish there was a button that allowed me to save your channel so I don't forget you, because staying subscribed while not watching your stuff is only hurting you. So, to help you out, I'll be unsubbing and writing your name down on a sticky note. I don't want to call upon everyone to unsubscribe or anything, but I think that if you find that you won't be watching this dude's stuff you're only hurting him by being subscribed. Good luck man, I will be checking in occasionally to see if you're doing well. Good luck on that game! I'll be looking out for it :)! Dev log videos seems to be popular, that may be something to pursue!

@@Nadestraight thats the internet, getting that much views on 1 video is an achievment and means that ur video was enjoyable and that u can make well constructed commentary or story time videos, which doesnt have to be your whole channel.
@HazFrostYT25 күн бұрын
As a person who owns a youtube channel (which is not really that successful so I'm uploading only for fun, don't take this for granted) I think how most youtubers grow from a viral video is by capitalizing on that viral video and making more things related to it or making it more interesting. For instance, your second video that was still related to your job being lost from AI didn't grow as much as the first viral video, but it was definitely performing better than the more recent ones. Unfortunately, it's a very "niche" video so capitalizing on it is kind of difficult, but this is pretty much how youtube works.

Dumb joke aside, I've said before, but sticking with content you enjoy is always the best call. I'm glad you've got it figured out, and hope things are going well for you outside KZbin, too.
