I get misgendered all the time. Especially when I’m wearing my baggy snow pants, puffy jacket, and woolen hat. Do you know what I do? I remind myself that person doesn’t actually know me, this interaction took 2 seconds of my day, then I go on living my life. If your identity depends on the affirmation of every stranger you encounter, maybe you’re not being as authentic as you say.

When she went to get care as a minor she was immediately affirmed and got testosterone,a year later she got her breasts removed. In that same month she also asked the doctors if she could get liposuction. They told her that she wasn't mentally well/adult enough to make a decision to get liposuction...

Most people are scared to call someone the wrong pronoun. I once went into a bathroom dressed in baggy clothes & a hat. Being very thin & tall, I did look like a guy from the back. A woman said "Sir, this is the ladies room" When I turned around, she was totally embarrassed she called me sir. These people need to start looking at things through other people's eyes. This made me laugh. I can weirdly relate. I'm not easily mistaken for a guy, like at all, but sometimes I'm such a tomboy or think like or communicate like a guy. And the attention I get from men...because it's obvious that I'm a woman...I give zero f*cks about and am usually annoyed with. Honestly, I would prefer an outright question like "are you a man or a woman". At least that shows the person is willing to call you by what you prefer to be called. I had my hair short as a kid a few times (because those stupid bowl cuts were in fashion when I was 8 lmao so I wanted it) and yeah, at least then it was kind of uncomfortable getting misgendered. But in most scenarios, all you have to do is say "oh I'm actually female/male" and something like "I know the haircut throws people off" and all is cool. I don't get all the hype about sobbing about it to the entire world, that is quite embarrassing. I would NEVER want people to see how emotional I get during like, menstruation or under stress, because no one has a charming side during those moments. How is that so attractive to these kids?

Same here, I've been called 'young man' and 'sir' several times by strangers as they pass in the street or at the supermarket checkout. I don't make a fuss, just nod and smile. If they realise their mistake so be it, if not, who cares? Its just a word, usually without any intent of harm because there isn't a sign on your head telling people the 'correct' way to address you. I know it had many rounds of fashion over the centuries, you might have seen it as the "friar" haircut in movies lol. I'm glad Marcus is feeling happy and great. I also think a lot of his videos have the clear intention of making things better for trans ppl (and non-trans ppl who might think they're trans). He's pointing out how a lot of current cultist trans rhetoric damages and undermines both the scientific case for trans existence (e.g. If sex is a social construct what is the basis for being trans?) and general acceptance of trans ppl. It's interesting how the only ppl having trouble accepting Marcus are those unable to have an opinion that isn't copied and pasted from their own echo chamber. Keep up the good work.

5:40 you're absolutely right about that. you can't "cure" mental disorders, but you can alleviate the symptoms. i struggled for years with anxiety and depression, but i only realized recently that those were caused by my adhd. working on handling the symptoms of adhd has greatly alleviated my anxiety, and because my anxiety was better, my depression went down. you cant cure adhd, but you can certainly work through it and try to make life easier with it. i believe that's what you mean when you talk about gender dysphoria. when you put it like that, i feel like i can empathize with what you're going through, even if i don't have it. if it's anything like what i go through, then it sounds like a nightmare you really explain things in a way people without gender dysphoria can understand. love you marcus❤

as a person who mistook BPD for gender dysphoria for around 2 years when i was 14/15, what marcus is doing is the right thing. i used to want to fully transition, i thought i was genuinely a guy, but later on in therapy i realized i wasn’t gender dysphoric, but i had a generally cloudy, inconsistent, very vague sense of identity, which eventually was one of the factors that led to a suspected BPD diagnosis at 16 and then BPD at 18. i am SO happy i didn’t go through with any kind of transition. keep doing your wonderful work marcus, much love xx

If this misgendering is coming from strangers when the person doesn't pass, seems to me what the trans/non-binary/whatever person wants is for people to see their INNER selves, but people can't do that unless they get to know you. You can't expect that from strangers, and if they are looking for it from strangers then I think they need to widen their real social circles as it seems to me they might be lonely, and they need to learn that strangers are not their family or friends (maybe in the future, but not now).

As someone with uncontrolled epilepsy I can say that actually being a victim is not a fun or ""exciting" thing and I usually try to hide it instead of putting it on display. Also I go in and out of depression and I would agree that it never gets cured, those feelings will always be there, but it helps to know that sometimes for me. When you're in a slump you can tell yourself it'll go away, only problem is when you're feeling happy anxiety comes to play and you start to wonder when you're going to fall again. It's a vicious cycle sometimes

I worry for my friend who has genuine gender-dysphoria and is transitioning, yet the consequences of people claiming to be transsexual without any dysphoria seem to be making a mockery out of a serious thing. I think some people are saying that they are trans for attention as if you say your trans man but wearing a dress, that don't even make any sense to me. My grandson is a trans man and I have watched him struggle with his mental health because of the gender dysphoria. It's like some people thinks it's a game you can turn on and off. You cannot. You either feel female or male, I don't know maybe I'm confused.

How do one feel male or female when the only point of reference one has is the body he or she is born in? I think the dysphoria comes from how one reacted to and handled the societal roles, expectations and expression imposed on each gender. I can understand why some men and women think being the opposite sex is better because they find what is expected of them is too constraining, restricting and/or just do not fit their personality.

I have a friend who had extremely bad anxiety... Almost killed him. Through a combination of medication and therapy he's completely cured. No more meds or therapy, and he's the happiest he's ever been. And his success in life is only going upwards in the few years since. 😊

I remember as a teenager being misgendered. It was Halloween and I was with all my friends Trick or Treating (who were girls too) walking the street to the next house and we came across some other girls from school. They said hello and then they asked “who’s he?” In reference to me. I was offended but pretended like it was nothing. I then found it quite funny. Then again we were about 14 I was one of the tallest, it was dark and I was wearing a black rain jacket with my hood up in my failed attempt to look like a black cat 😂

Yes, you are right about other mental disorders being incurable, all mental conditions are incurable. I’ve been medicated for anxiety and depression and personality disorder since I was 18. (Huge child ptsd and trauma overall) At 18 my life made a 180º spin and I got a rare autoimmune diagnosis. I was miserable. I was taking my meds, everyday, nothing changed. Fast forward to now, I’m 29. Life has changed since I was 18, BUT I got better in the recent years cause I MADE IT SO. Let me explain, since 18 I’ve been heavily medicating for my severe conditions, I didn’t get better, like, never. I took my pills and survived. In 2020 I had a near death experience (huge blood clot inside my heart, threatening my life every second) I felt like I was going to DIE. I FELT IT. I thought to myself, I’m going to die and I’m still scared of everything, I don’t care, I don’t want to die without having done X, Y and Z. I faced my fears, did what I wanted to do and kinda prepared myself to die somewhere during that year. I cured myself. Not a single time during my whole life has medication GIVEN ME PURPOSE. NEVER. There’s no pill for HOPELESSNESS. You gotta take the lead of YOUR OWN LIFE. I never stopped taking my meds and I do not recommend anyone to stop taking them, but, sorry, medication won’t solve your problems and it DEFINITELY won’t give you a purpose. There’s work to be done within yourself that no medication can do for you, none.

For the “lesbian date” video, the girl literally knew she was trans.. and stated that she had dated trans women before. She was probably trying to make the trans girl feel comfortable and like she was still attracted to her even though she’s trans. The only reason she thought these were “micro-aggressions” is because the other woman saw her as a “trans woman” and not an ACTUAL woman. She wanted that validation that a lesbian was attracted to her, and was disappointed when she found out she was not really a lesbian, just trans-attracted (and there’s nothing wrong with that!). The reality is: IF YOU HAVE A PENIS, LESBIANS ARE NOT ATTRACTED TO YOU! So WHY are you seeking to date lesbians?? They don’t want you sis! A couple months ago I was saying to someone where I worked the same thing about how biological men can do whatever they want as far as clothing, makeup, etc. and still be fine and looked at as a guy. I have a friend who is trans who will post pictures with makeup on. Like you do you, but when someone misgenders you because you look like a girl, don't cry about it. Sometimes you need to put effort to pass.

It kind of made me thing of a convo I had with someone ages ago. They were saying what was the harm of letting a perfectly able bodied person pretend to be disabled and use a wheelchair everyday. As someone who has been in a wheelchair most my life I was horrified that anyone would want to pretend to live my life…that someone would want to choose it. So I told the person that if someone chose to live in a wheelchair they then have to deal with all the negative impacts it can have on their healthy body. They would face skin conditions, muscle wasting, range of motion limitations, not to mention all the social and accessibility issues. To choose to have those issues really didn’t seem right to me. And it made me think the person instead needed therapy to find the root cause and deal with that rather than causing unnecessary, and possibly irreversible, harm to their healthy body. Perhaps I’m wrong, but the parallels really strike me.

I was born in the 1960s, and when I kept telling my mother that I was really a boy and not a girl (I thought the doctor who delivered me made a mistake on my birth certificate) she told me that if I ever said that to anyone else that I would be committed to an asylum! So, I lived the life of a girl and a woman for over 50 years in absolute misery. Then, seemingly overnight, all these kids 15 to 30 just came out of the woodwork to declare they are "trans" or "nonbinary", and they get a parade and a flag and invitations to the White House! I'm just stunned and sad. My youth is gone, along with my health. I am on antidepressants, and these ignorant brats are screaming at strangers for not calling them "they" or "zei" or "CANDLE"! 😭😭😭

I just wish you were wrong about anxiety and depression, and I hope there are people who manage to get over it. I can only speak of my experience. I've had crippling anxiety and depression all my life: therapy helped, but meanwhile time passed, and now I have no family, no partner and no job, and it's too late to do anything about it. At least mine is a pretty extreme case: I wish for comfort and peace to all those who struggle with these issues. I also hope that mental health awareness progresses to the point that affected children can be helped sooner with non-invasive care. If I had been diagnosed as a child, maybe now things would be different.

In response to your statement at 5:45, you are correct. Mental illnesses are incurable. However, they are very treatable if you give it enough time and effort. Easier said than done, I know. It took me about 2 years to receive an official diagnosis for my anxiety, depression, insomnia, and a few others, and about 3 years after that (up to now) I've finally found the psychiatrist and medication that works best for me.

I went back so that video was fresh in my mind. You weren't talking about people like the 2nd one in this video, you were talking about "trans femme" which isn't trans! Ugh, one woman was literally trying to be an anime character, not a man. Those people hurt the traditional (I don't dare say actuall) trans people and any chance of mainstream acceptance.
