This is literally me with any baby handed to me. I think the pooping, vomiting and crying is natures way of ensuring we give them back to the parents and don't take them home like we wanted 2 minutes earlier.

Hmm, I think it may be the opposite: the cuteness tricks the parents into putting up with all the pooping, vomiting, and crying. It's like an abusive spouse, they fling all sorts of shit at you til you are at the end of your rope, but then they smile at you and babble sweet nothings, maybe offer you a shiny bauble they found... diabolical

For that reason, I think it's best to let older siblings hold the baby. The rush of hormones makes them love the baby. It's more effective than "letting the baby bring them toys/ presents". Letting the older sibling hold the baby makes them love the baby more than any toy or present could.

To be honest the first year or so after your friends had a baby they're still pretty easy to chat with. Its when they start walking and talking and demanding attention that it becomes tricky to have normal conversations. And there is a risk they'll have nothing else to discuss if they're a stay at home parent. But with most of my friends it was fine. Just try to hang out between naptimes or when the other parent has the kid.

Ad a mom of an almost 3 week old, I agree with this skit, up until the new baby smell. I hear about how people like the new baby smell, and I don't get it. Babies, even mine, smell weird. I like how he smells after a bath though!

Still waiting to see a sketch where Mirror Julie has problems that normal Julie solves. Another idea, and it’s probably a pretty bad one , I wanna see the mirror move to a different house and mirror Julie is really mad/confused about why the setting keeps changing around her

I can so absolutely not relate to this. 😂 Every time I hold a baby I'm glad when I can give it back. Instead of "Omg, I want one too!" I think "Thank god this didn't happen to me!". And I honestly don't really like the smell.

I like that she pointed out the fact that everyone talks about their thing. People who work out or go to an office or have a specific diet or went on a vacation or have a child want to talk about those things, but for some reason only some are criticized as boring when they all are(n't) if you think about it.

I was like 'Hey a Julie Nolke sketch!' and then I thought 'wait the title isn't formatted like a sketch. Is it genuine? Did Julie have a baby?' and then watched the video and felt silly for thinking it was real. But then there were so many details and it was played so real that I started thinking Julie actually did have a baby, and making this video was her way of coping with that

As the first of my friends to become a father, I remember these days. Then slowly but sure they became fathers too and eventually our comversations were 25% shared interests and 75% kids stuff, and it was awesome. Julie nails the truth that parenthood is both the best anf worst thing that will ever happen to you.

You know the odd thing is how you forget life before you had kids. I barely remember my life pre-children. The one thing they don’t tell you is that they don’t leave these days. Mine are 28 and 23 and they’re never home but they live here because they can’t afford to move out.

@@Myria83 Talk to me after you’ve had kids. Yes, I did lead a very uneventful life pre-children tho. Poor, college under the seven year plan and then marriage. Yes, it was kind of sad but I didn’t know any better. Damn, my kids had traveled more before they were 7 than I did in my entire life at that point.
