This is literally me with any baby handed to me. I think the pooping, vomiting and crying is natures way of ensuring we give them back to the parents and don't take them home like we wanted 2 minutes earlier.

Hmm, I think it may be the opposite: the cuteness tricks the parents into putting up with all the pooping, vomiting, and crying. It's like an abusive spouse, they fling all sorts of shit at you til you are at the end of your rope, but then they smile at you and babble sweet nothings, maybe offer you a shiny bauble they found... diabolical

For that reason, I think it's best to let older siblings hold the baby. The rush of hormones makes them love the baby. It's more effective than "letting the baby bring them toys/ presents". Letting the older sibling hold the baby makes them love the baby more than any toy or present could.

To be honest the first year or so after your friends had a baby they're still pretty easy to chat with. Its when they start walking and talking and demanding attention that it becomes tricky to have normal conversations. And there is a risk they'll have nothing else to discuss if they're a stay at home parent. But with most of my friends it was fine. Just try to hang out between naptimes or when the other parent has the kid.

Congratulations, new mama! The journey begins. Glad that in baby boy’s cameo appearance he was played by a baby blanket. Don’t know how you found the time to do this video, but it was hilarious.

I was like 'Hey a Julie Nolke sketch!' and then I thought 'wait the title isn't formatted like a sketch. Is it genuine? Did Julie have a baby?' and then watched the video and felt silly for thinking it was real. But then there were so many details and it was played so real that I started thinking Julie actually did have a baby, and making this video was her way of coping with that

Still waiting to see a sketch where Mirror Julie has problems that normal Julie solves. Another idea, and it’s probably a pretty bad one , I wanna see the mirror move to a different house and mirror Julie is really mad/confused about why the setting keeps changing around her

Ad a mom of an almost 3 week old, I agree with this skit, up until the new baby smell. I hear about how people like the new baby smell, and I don't get it. Babies, even mine, smell weird. I like how he smells after a bath though!

I'm not sure if it does anything but even if I have no intention of buying whatever the sponsor is selling I still click the link in the description so at least they know they got some interaction from their ad dollars.

I like that she pointed out the fact that everyone talks about their thing. People who work out or go to an office or have a specific diet or went on a vacation or have a child want to talk about those things, but for some reason only some are criticized as boring when they all are(n't) if you think about it.

There's limited research on the subject, but many experts theorize that the "what" behind the newborn scent is the vernix caseosa. That's the white, waxy coating that protects your baby's skin in utero and holds in moisture. (Think of it as natural Vaseline.) Vernix caseosa, also known as vernix or birthing custard, is the waxy white substance found coating the skin of newborn human babies. It is produced by dedicated cells and is thought to have some protective roles during fetal development and for a few hours after birth. But.... A study from 2019 considered the scent of amniotic fluid compared to the scent of a newborn baby’s head and found that while some components were similar, the newborn scent featured more chemical elements and was individually distinct.

The funniest part for me is I watched almost that exact same thing happen in real life. I had a friend who swore she never wanted kids ever. Nothing would ever change her mind. That was all fine for other women, but she didnt want any part of having children. Then, one day she held a 1 week old in her arms. the next day she was telling her husband how they need to have 10 kids. Fortunately her husband did want kids and so now they both wanted kids. and they had them. but not ten. Julie, you are extremely skilled in your art. I hope you continue to pursue it. I hope you continue to grow the audience you have worked hard for, and I hope you have a lot of fun and laughter along the way.
