Your business model is proven sound Lee. I can see you needing a bigger unit in time. Perhaps another mechanic will speed up the prep time and free you up for more buying and selling. Been in retail 35 years and you do get the odd quiet month and there’s no working it out but I found if you look at sales per quarter they’re usually much more stable. Love the channel

I've recently bought a low mileage Polo GTi 6c 1.8 DSG (automatic) factory standard car. I well understand the appeal of automatics having only ever owned one before, a 1988 Golf Clipper convertible when I was living in London, and in that traffic it was superb. The DSG dual clutch boxes of VW/Audi/Seat etc are said to be problematic not least the Mechatronic units, but timely servicing should take care of that ?

Brilliant! I am about to buy a 2014 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 petrol and the list of all housings and switches you replace to be on safe side was spot on! So now I want the garage to replace those things as a condition of the sale - but if they wont, then how much would I likely to be charged for having the mounts and housing and switches done after sales? If it costs the garage around £60 for all the bits I’d gladly pay that extra for peace of mind. You give great information & advice about common issues to be aware of with various engines, makes and models. Anyone buying a used car should subscribe to your channel, you’re a superstar! 👍

Sadly a lot of garages will not change them but most of the time they are leaking or starting to leak and should be picked up on pdi checks. The two stat housings and switch are around £60 and a competent mechanic could change them and bleed the coolant system up and running in a hour 15 mins

that scary so many with auto's , quite often mean they bad driver . i got bad health but i feel im not disabled enough for an auto i fight the pain for enjoyment of manual, for me auto only for those who prob in wheel chair or they very bad drivers as that my experience ive never got in to an auto and driver been good so seems scary so may wanting auto in your area.

I got a 58 plate mondeo a few months ago that has fsh, 4 new tyres, full new exhaust and drives superb. After looking at Astra focus sized cars I gave up. Basic cars for £2k ? Feck that. Luckily the mondeo gets 50-55mpg (tdci) a clean car for £400 with 6 months test and I'm quids in already. Just glad I never went smaller........ as small cars are sh!t. 👍

Lee I would have had that c max from you if I didn't already have one almost exactly the same it's a 1.8 titanium. These are great cars you are selling it for a very good price so don't think it will hang around too long . Yep I have seen plenty online about the dash instrument panel they are a common fault with them but quite an easy fix . My car the air con not working but it was not a car i planned to keep, plan was no longer than 12 months. it not mechanical issue so no need to spend extra on that but it works it just need a radiator thing as leaks gas but when filled up wow the aircon so cold i had to turn heat up. every thing else is great, just had new clutch, new disks and pads, new back box, new belt when i got it as did not trust it even tho my mechanic said it fine and oil changes and reg services, car for the last 4 mot a clean pass with no advisory . im one those what do look after the important stuff. only thing what could need doing but no showing signs is chain as they can fail at certain millage but that for next owner as its fine now its just a thing id do if i was new owner as they can go bad. so over all the car is good, aircon fix £330 ish but a lot cheaper if garage did it them self as £250 ish for rad plus time plus refill an very easy fix, and chain you said £300-400 yourself could do chain for so those two issues the car live another 13 years or 100k miles so its a bargain who gets it. but as its been so good its gave me more time on wait on payment and save so when i finally get payment i plan getting a car at much higher value than i was going to as it was around 3k mark with my car part exchange but now its over double that what im looking at as if car was bad it would gone in 12 months but now it 55 months and had lots doing o it so next owner two things and it last a very long time so bargain. only reason im changing it bad health, 3 door a pain in two ways and after cruise control or a place to rest on longer drives, so i be going for newer i20 but same engine i current got or micro van from japan what i can turn from 4 seat van to have a bed and place to make a coffee so i can have lye down and rest those my two options top my list so only reason im getting rid my car is health so the next owner they get a bargain as all my cars no matter how long i keep them i have list things to work through and all my cars drive like new when im finished with them but time ran out to fix the final two easy things
