★ WATCH ALL OF THE GLOW UP DIARIES: bit.ly/37O0bX6
Episode 10 was filmed: November 2018
ABOUT THE GLOW UP DIARIES: At rock bottom I picked up a camera and began documenting my physical and mental pain that seemingly existed without meaning. From age 17 to 22 years old I recorded the “Glow Up Diaries” which is a raw docu-series of my deepest, most painful moments in an effort to find a newer, brighter existence. I openly share my difficulties despite the insistence of the media that such “shameful” feelings be kept in a closet.

★ WATCH ALL OF THE GLOW UP DIARIES: bit.ly/37O0bX6 ABOUT: This is a 6 year docu-series of my coming of age story. I originally thought I would end this series after a few months but ugly truths unraveled as I went further into my glow up journey. I began recording the glow up diaries at 17 years old and finished when I turned 22 years old.

At one point of my “glow up” I questioned my self I asked my self “Why am I doing this” “Who am I doing this for.. who am I trying to impress” So I toke a break over the weekend And over this weekend I got a glimpse of how it felt to be lazy to do nothing “I’m doing this for my self to look in the mirror and be proud of what I see to love my self” “I’m doing this for my happiness” “I’m trying to impress my happiness to be friends with happiness and not friends with sadness”

A year ago, when I found your channel, I decided to lose weight and start a healthy lifestyle. Indeed, kilograms began to fall as I exercised more and reduced calories. It got to the point that I felt bad when I ate one APPLE because I felt it was too much and I could gain weight. My family and friends started to notice that I was losing weight all the time, but I couldn't stop. I weighed terribly low. I forced vomiting a few times, but luckily I got out of it. Now I weigh more than a year ago because when I finished starving, seizures began and I ate more and more. I just want to tell you to be careful. This year I will try to lose weight in a healthy way, but in fact I still have the back of my head to stop eating completely. Eating disorders are a nightmare and it is not as funny as some people think. Just treat yourself good, everybody. It is better to lose weight slower but permanently and not have to deal with mental illnes for your rest of life. It's really not worth it.

Hey alivia, I know it's so unlikely that you will ever read this, but i just wanted to let you know how much you have helped me! I have so many unhealthy binging habits and I relate to you massively, i'm really excited for your next video so I can get more in tune with myself. It's so amazing for insecure teenagers especially to have someone amazing to look up to, and aid us on our own journey of finding ourself. I have been with you since the fierce livvy days when you were way down at 5k, i was so inflexible but your motivation and consise videos got me into splits with everyday stretching for about 6 months, you helped to remind me to push myself. I went from 90° to 180°. I was so happy when I saw the first glow up diary episode, you have inspired me to cook some meals and walk outside more, i also love how you have so many ways to be healthy without spending money on the gym or fancy food. I still have some proper issues with myself and my body, but i really really hope your videos help me even more than they have, although you have helped me admit I need help. You blew up after he first episode and I'm so happy for you, your feed on instagram inspires me everyday and I really hope you see this as I know how hard this can be on you, but I want you to know we all love you and want the best for you, don't be afraid to give yourself a break and out you first, you are amazing

When I heard the “Its like you forgot how to eat normally’’ I relate to that so much, for my whole life it has been habit. One reason being that my older sister had a hard time with textures and such, but she only liked unhealthy foods. So me and my brother would catch onto that and we would ask my mom, ‘’Why are we forced to eat this, but she doesn’t have to eat it?’’ So then my mom decided to let me and my siblings all eat unhealthy. And now it’s all I know. My whole fridge and pantry is unhealthy. It’s so hard to try and be healthy to try and find good foods, when my mom has to go spend money on those foods that I want to try, even though I might not even like them. So for a couple years I have tried so many times to get healthy. As soon as I eat one thing unhealthy, or one thing gets difficult I give up. But today I’m going to change that, and I’m not going to let anything stop me. I swear to it. I need to be healthy for now and for my future. So I will put everything into this and keep going until I feel happy. UPDATE: I wish I could say that it's working and that I got better, but no I didn't. If anything I feel worse than before. I'm sorry for letting those down who were supporting me in the replies, I've just been going through a rough time lately and I realized I'm to young to be focusing on this because it was stressing me out. As well as I've lost any motivation to continue. I can't figure out why I'm feeling so sad and unmotivated, and my anxiety has been really bad lately, so I'm sorry, I hope you all continue on your journeys and have a wonderful day.

Update: It has been 5 weeks since I started. I’m actually doing really good! I have lost 8 pounds and been eating healthy. Sometimes I’ll have a couple unhealthy things but I always get back up and keep trying. Another great thing is that my siblings are starting to catch on to my healthy eating as well and have been eating a little bit better. My mom has also tried to get my whole family to eat healthier so now there’s less junk food and more healthy food. At first I was about to give up, I thought before I went on the scale, “Nothing has changed. Your still fat” but when I looked down, I saw progress. Sadly I am struggling to praise myself for losing weight and getting healthier. But I’m working on it 😁

You literally saved me. I was going down a dark path of judgement towards myself and my body. I was eating anything I wanted without thinking about it. I was in such a bad spot where I hated the body that was given to me. I watched these vidios thinking “I could never do something like this” but I can and could. I realized that it would take a while and I would mess up but it would be worth it. I have lost 11 pounds in the past month and a half. I have found that eating the serving size on healthier foods have helped a lot. So I have some things to work on but I love my body so much more and I just want to say thank you because without you I would still have that negative mindset. Thank you so much Alivia. Thank you

I’m 17 and I weigh 210 lbs. When I started watching I was kind of thrown back by the fact that the heaviest she’s ever been is literally my goal. But it’s important to know that everyone’s body is different and there are a lot of things that I don’t know about her and her feelings. She had a really unhealthy relationship with food just like I do and she doesn’t need to be 300 lbs for me to take her advice and for me to appreciate all the effort and work she put into feeling good and strong and healthy. PS Your vids are amazing and really help me to continue. ❤️

I used to draw a lot when I was younger and didn’t really care about what other thought about it. I didn’t even think about showing it to anyone. At some point in high school I had a lot of friends that drew amazingly well and started to think I was terrible at drawing. I became ashamed about drawing and about anyone seeing what I draw. Creative work is like that. I stopped drawing for a long time and now that my major requires me being good at drawing I realise I should’ve never stopped. So I read something once it motivated me a lot to continue and it was “don’t do it to be the best, do it to be better” and I think that’s the approach everyone should take on anything. Bettering yourself slowly is the key to eventually becoming very good at doing something. Love your videos Alivia! You have motivated me through very hard times.

You should be so proud you've attracted this huge audience on such a positive journey and with content that is so raw, real and honest in a way that we don't get a chance to see a lot on youtube. You are exposing the silent struggle a lot of people go through in trying to better themselves on top of juggling school/work/friends/family... not to mention adjusting to adulthood and parenting your self... yikes Haha.

You don’t pretend like your success is linear and that you did everything right to get to where you are today on your health journey. People like me really appreciate and resonate with you showing your struggles and being vulnerable with us, even though sometimes our inclinations are to hide our less than desirable decisions. These videos are informative, well-edited, and fun to watch as well. Great work, Alivia.

Sadly for me I did develop and eating disorder and even after years of therapy and support it’s still a part of my life well into adulthood. You are so positive about your journey and showing us how motivated you are and making your journey not about hate but about changing into more positive aspect is a very hard thing to do. @Shirio :3 victoria is talking about an eating disorder which is much more complicated than just needing to meal prep and such. Even with those things you listed it can play into the eating disorder instead. What is important with this video is how you can have fast food without feeling bad and still lose weight/have a healthy lifestyle. I suggest you to look more into eating disorders ( such as orthrexia ) and realize that discipline isnt the total answer.

Today I came here to check if there were any news about glow up diaries the movie (which is totally fine there aren't because this is your personal life) and I'm literally shocked it says these videos were 3 years ago!! How is that possible? I remember I started watching when there were still videos coming out (I dn't recall if it was weekly but yeah), it just made me realize how fast time goes by. Anyway I really liked the videos as Alivia shows her struggles because we all do struggle and often people only show their highlights on social media. If you are struggling and by any chance you read this comment know that everything will be alright, life can be though sometimes but time helps, you learn how to deal with the pain. Wish you all the best, truly!

A tip imho, do not drink too much water while eating. What she said is absolutely right with that logic. Your stomach has a warm and acidic environment and it needs that to digest food properly. So when you drink too much water (especially cold) you're filing your stomach with a temperature that is colder than the stomach and also alkaline. We may think we ended up eating less but the little amount of food eaten remains undigested. One of the results could be what she later said - feeling like your stomach will explode. or feeling bloated later on. If this remains as a habit for long time during most of the meal it will weaken your digestive system and accumulate lot of toxins over the period of many years. In extreme serious cases, that may lead to constipation and you may never know this little thing contribute to your unhealthy later life. This is just my thought process based of what I know and have learned. I am not a nutritionist or dietician but just another person trying at getting better.
