The thought of doing 31 audiobooks in 31 days hurts my brain so you are my hero!

Same!!! I do think I want to try a month of listening to an audiobook everyday though, only...make it for myself so it doesn't have to be a whole new book every day, as long as I'm listening to whatever audiobook I'm working on daily, for at least one chapter or something. I wanna see if making a daily habit out of it will help inspire me to want to read even more too ^-^

When you talked about this challenge and video concept, i thought it’d be a vlog but surprisingly this was a really great format for it!! I love when you make different conceptual videos and you always make them work 💕 ALSO i’m already starting the countdown to Chanmas 😌💌

Just started my first job as a nurse and now that I’m no longer in school, I have so much more time to read (instead of homework and studying 🎉). Love your videos so much! I always have at least one book added to my TBR or I just leave your video and start a book you recommend 😂 Appreciate your content so much!!

I actually do listen to at least one book a day. In 2021...I was listening to 2-3 audiobooks a day...every day...plus reading novellas, manga, and graphic novels in the evening. I ended the year with 1200 books and this year I have made it a real effort to scale back, only listen to 1 audiobook a day and then fill those other hours with booktube or music or something else audio. But even scaling back I am averaging around 60 books a month. Its definitely not for everyone and I have a unique set of circumstances that allows me to do this. But I am enjoying the pace this year more than last year...I think this is the sweet spot for me at this moment in time. I assume I will burn out eventually but I've been saying that since January of 2021 and it hasn't happened yet. I definitely agree that the more you read, the more you want to read. I have just been so motivated to read in the last couple years and I am constantly finding more, new things I was to read and try. I keep thinking I will run out of books i WANT to read but it hasn't happened yet so I'm just enjoying the ride and know that whenever I slow down or hit that point that I dont want to do it anymore...that's ok. I hit a mega goal in 2021 and i dont feel the need to try to do it again. I actually think it has been harder this year trying to slow myself down and read LESS.

So true about reading more books makes you want to read more books! And truth about reading more books you start to become more critical.

i lost my job and in the few months before i got back on my feet i read SO much. it makes me a bit sad to know i probably won’t be able to pull that off again. i’ve been thinking of doing a reading challenge to get that feeling back and this is so inspiring 💕

This was interesting! I've never been much for audiobooks because retaining my focus while listening is really hard for me. But I randomly got back into my old lady crafts in August (aka I moved and found a bunch of cross stitch kits when packing), and having that to keep my hands occupied and then finding some short (nonfiction) audiobooks that weren't priority reads for me really worked. I got through 4 audiobooks in the span of a few weeks, which is more than I did all last year. Now I've been thinking of challenging myself to get through one per week for the rest of the year.

Hey! If you read one book that is an achievement!! Not many people have the capacity to read so many books in a month. I always try not to compare myself to these types of videos as I know it is unrealistic for my lifestyle, between a full time job, friends, and other things I wanna do.

I love gamifying my reading. I'm just finishing up a year long project of reading book series out of order (not all of my reading, I'm not THAT crazy). It's been a lot of fun and I've learned a lot about my reading taste
@GallifreyanOrphan2 жыл бұрын
I average about a book a day on audio. Generally they're about 10-12 hours long and I listen at minimum of double speed so 4-6 hours in the background while I'm working or gaming or driving or in the grocery store or cleaning up around the house doesn't feel like a lot. Sometimes I feel a little over-stimulated so I'll take a little break, and I prefer to read my Kindle when in bed so I can wind down so that's when I get in my heavier reading or indies that don't have audio. I don't watch TV so I probably spend a lot of the time that others would spend doing that listening to books.

Oh! This is my kind of a video. My life revolves around challenges, lol. I am tracking my habits daily as I aim to do yoga and some cross stich every single day. I also have multiple yearly reading challenges such as reading from a Turkish author each month or reading a poetry book each month. They are really fun if you manage to not stress around keeping up with everything. In my experience, moderation is the key! Also, OTH is the best, #teamBrooke✌

31 audiobooks in 31 days... Wow, that is ambitious. I'd probably fail that challenge. Today I was trying to get an 8-hour audiobook done and I couldn't focus. After 3 hours I had to turn it off. I'll pick it up again in a little bit. I really need to get it done because I'm supposed to be talking about it on a podcast recording tomorrow!

I unintentionally did something similar where I had 2 weeks/3weekends off in a row aka 17 days and knew I wanted to read a lot but half way through I had kept an average pace of a book a day...and just maintained that for the rest of the vacation. By the end I wanted to hit the book a day on average but that wasn't even anywhere in my mind at the satrt

You mentioned this in a previous video and I'm definitely interested in trying something similar! I was thinking of doing 30 books in 30 days in September, with mixing audio and graphic novels into my normal books, but then depression hit me hard end of August/early September. I'm still thinking about doing it, though. How did you obtain all of the audiobooks without breaking the bank?

This was a great video. I’m planning on doing a No - Novel challenge next year, because I want to read more nonfiction, poetry, short stories….I like these kinds of books but novels always seem to dominate my reading plans. I’m curious to see how reading no long form fiction changes my reading, if at all. Thanks for the motivation!

Oh god... Is this even physically possible?! Am I just a slow-ass reader?! Are these books like 100 pages each or something?! I thought you had a regular day job and then youtube but my brain can't comprehend how you did this with those on your plate. Those cringey "reading is my superpower" t-shirts seem awfully real right now

Okay, am I the only one who has to slow down the audio to 0.75 to actually enjoy and find it calming. Otherwise I feel like it's way to fast. Not sure if it's just how yah naturally talk or if you speed it up in the editing. But either way, enjoyed the video concept
