I lost 65 pounds in 6 months and have kept it off for 15 years using this simple fat loss plan. In my early 20s I found myself overweight and depressed. Back then it wasn't easy to find quality fat loss information so I ended up trying to follow bodybuilding routines to get in shape. However, nothing felt sustainable. It felt like I had to sacrifice my quality of life and all the things I enjoyed to lose fat.

You mentioned the guys who might need 6 days per week splits for mental health, and that's something that I've found keeps me consistent. Might be a cool topic for future video because I'm sorta all in or not in at all, so I'm learning that with diet I'm better off not having "cheats" and with splits, it's better just to go. Any feedback you've seen from clients who've successfully navigated those splits might be a cool topic.

The tips in this are really good as a whole. Focusing on strength and not circuit training, being active daily, eating adequate protein, etc.. But the one piece of advice I'd push back on is the equation of goal BW X10-12 equation. Calorie intake is way too individualized with a lot of different factors. Goal BWX10-12 will be way too low for most people who have any sort of normal activity level in their life. Especially when you add on lifting, formal cardio, daily walking, etc..

Hey man, I really enjoy your videos and advice. Currently having some issues doing cardio and some lifting movements, because I have a torn meniscus and am gearing up for surgery in 2 weeks and will be on crutches for 6 weeks. Any advice??

Injuries are never fun. Totally understand. How’s the diet side? I know it’s not easy to focus on the eating part and doing what you can in the gym but that’s where I’d focus. Plus this will be time to mentally get things right too. I’d do upper body for sure. And then I’d focus on eating high protein and moderate carb and fat.

@@jamieorton6809 For me it’s actually because I’m not spiking insulin. When you spike insulin you store fat easier. When you keep insulin low, you unlock the fat within those cells. I still eat the same amount of calories. I’m just not spiking my insulin which means that falls off faster.

It may help you specifically, but all of the studies done show that low carb is not better than any other form of caloric restriction when it comes to losing fat. Also, carbs replenish your glycogen, which allows all the protein you are taking in to assist muscle in growth and repair.

@@SantoryuKauboi when you cut out carbs, you don’t spike insulin. Insulin is what helps store fat. When you drop your carbs, why do you think people lose weight a lot faster? I eat the same amount of calories but I would lose 4 to 5 pounds a week versus one to two on calorie restriction. the person that eats meat and vegetables is going to lose a lot faster than somebody is eating McDonald’s every day. I’m sorry I don’t buy the whole argument because people have studies for everything.
