I don’t wanna discourage international players, but if your English isn’t up to snuff where you can’t even understand judges, do you really think you should be playing a game that is so text heavy (or at least, be playing it in your secondary language)? It becomes a genuine problem for others, and at that point, you yourself probably aren’t even having fun if you can’t understand the cards in play and are constantly getting into disputes over it. TLDR; Props to anyone who wants to learn multiple languages, but before playing the game, make sure you’re competent in the games language. English, Spanish, Japanese, whatever, just be competent

@@League____ Basically, in the brazilian yugioh community there was a youtuber called BotaTCG, and in an unboxing he made of the salamangreat structural deck, he used 6 copies of heatleo, I believe that in the deck building process he got confused, because he used 3 copies from one art, and 3 from another and he said "here we have 3 copies of salamangreat leardar and 3 copies of leardor" (leardor is the translated name of salamangreat heatleo) and he thought they were different cards, but in fact they were the same, so because of all this confusion, the Brazilian community made fun of him a lot.

I'm not a judge by any means, so I could be wrong, but I believe the onus falls on both players to maintain a correct gamestate. In a situation like this, if there was no feasible way to repair, the duel would probably just continue as normal (and both players might receive a warning, but I'm really not sure about that. Might just depend on who the judge is.) You could say that your opponent is cheating in that case, but it's also your responsibility to make sure your opponent's plays are correct while they are making them, not several turns later.

But it’s not an on summon effect. Spell speed 1. You could summon tribute lanius, then say, play pot of extravagance for some reasons, and then activate lanius effects. It’s only activation conditions are that: - It was summoned this turn - It’s one of the two main phases - you have a raid-raptor currently in the deck - the effect of Tribute Lanius has not yet resolved this turn. The key word in the card text is “if” not “when”.

@@esrohm6460 Ok, in the assumption that summon priority is in effect, it’s still no different. Tribute Lanius and Chaos Sorcerer (even in its original texts) don’t have effects that activate when they are summoned. Unless I’m mistaken and summon priority allows you to activate the moment it is brought to the field, regardless of text, but in all honesty, it feels kinda dumb and redundant in my opinion. And by summon priority logic, it’s sounding like you’d need a SS3 card to respond, but that then prevents cards like trap hole from been used. Feels like a confusing rule that’s not needed

I do understand that the process would seem quite a hassle. 😅 But then again it would create lesser chance of delivering rulings with incorrect placements or addition of characters or symbol. Since you would have a space to check what you have written from the beginning.

From what I understand, having just glanced over the fast effect timing chart, the ignition effect of tribute lanius is spell speed 1 and needs to be activated in an open game state. Before returning to an open game state after having resolved a chain, turn player has priority to activate a spell speed 2 or higher card if applicable, and then, after passing priority, non-turn player can activate a spell speed 2 or higher card if applicable before returning to an open game state.

@@TheDavid0803 yes, so to summarize: RR player plays tribute lanius and attempts to ignition summon the effect of tribute lanius (why he was called of in the first place), then after he understands that it's not an ignition summon effect the opponent chains canadia on summon, them RR chains raptor's gust (a.k.a unseatchable barrier) which is a counter trap , then after resolution opponent flips second canadia before letting him declare effect from tribute lanius (which its BS as you said, the game state was on RR player) and the closen't coder just let it go through, also fun fact, chaining canadia to tribute's effect does stop him but the effect of tribute still goes through allowing him to send mimicry, the only way to stop this is to negate it

No, after the chain resolves, the order goes as follows: trigger effects that might have been activated by the chain (none happened here) -> quick effects that might be activated by the turn player (none here) -> quick effects that might be activated by the opponent (2nd Canadia). Only if the opponent chose not to activate the 2nd Canadia would the game go back to an open gamestate. If you ever have any doubts, just refer to the flow chart. It sometimes feels like players aren't even aware of its existence.

@@urnikesonmyfeet You can only react to counter traps with counter traps. That's why they exist, to avoid responses from most cards. So in this case, the player wasn't chaining the 2nd Canadia to the counter trap, he merely started a new chain by following the flow chart. Once a chain is over, players must follow the order represented on the flow chart. Here, the counter and the 1st Canadia have already resolved and trigger effects can now be activated. After those come turn player quick effects. So the turn player could indeed take an action, but only in the form of quick effects which apparently he had none of. Then come the opponent's quick effects, which the 2nd Canadia is a part of. So it's not that counters allow you to remake an open gamestate, it's just that they stop the opponent from adding onto the chain if they don't have a counter of their own. Hi Coder I have a ruling issue with my locals as well, but I am fairly certain that I am right and they are not. The ruling in question is about Accesscode Talker. When Accesscode is summoned his effect to gain ATK cannot be responded to that I know, but at resolution it is an open game state in which I can use ANY Quick effect to target Accesscode i.e Veiler, Impermanence or Pankratops before he starts popping my board, right? My locals has it ruled that once his on summon effect has resolved they use TURN PLAYER PRIORITY to banish from grave to pop, thus saying I cannot chain my Veiler / Imperm after resolution which is just wrong. If I am in the right how can I solve this issue? Because our judges rule it this way, and overrule me since they are judges.

Hello. I'm sorry to inform you that the judges at your event are incorrect, and their judgement on this scenario is contradictory to fundamental TCG documentation. Here is the TCG Fast Effect Timing chart, that covers most of event sequencing in this game (one of the most useful pieces of information in this game, I highly recommend that you save it somewhere for future reference as well): img.yugioh-card.com/en/gameplay/images/T-Flowchart_EN-US.jpg We have ourselves a chain (Accesscode Talker's Trigger effect on summon), so we're at the box D of the chart. We follow the chart. After the entire chain has been resolved, we move to the "Does this activate a triggered effect" box (the answer to which in your scenario is No). From that, we move to box B. The turn player can activate a fast effect here. Accesscode's effect to destroy monsters is an Ignition effect, it is not a fast effect. Unless your opponent (the turn player) has a miscellaneous fast effect that you're unaware of, they will pass in box B. We move to box C: "Opponent (you) can activate a fast effect". Quick effects, such as Effect Veiler's or Dinowrestler Pankratops', or Trap cards, such as Infinite Impermanence, DO fall under the category of fast effects, so you CAN activate them at this timing, in which case, as per the chart, you'll move back to box D to follow chain building and resolving procedures. Your opponent will only be able to activate that effect of Accesscode after you have passed in box C eventually and we have gone back to box A (aka an open game state, with the turn player having priority). If a judge that isn't the head judge at your event rules this scenario in the (incorrect) way you mentioned, you always have the right to appeal to a head judge. Sadly, in a local environment, there may only be a head judge, who is rather inexperienced themselves and can't be told anything about it in the middle of the event if their ruling is absolute, due to Konami policy stating that a head judge has absolute authority for their event. If your circumstances are similar, I suggest talking privately with your head judge outside of the event and presenting the relevant data to them (such as the data in this comment, or maybe even the word of other, experienced judges in online forums). If the head judge is completely unyielding on his mistake and keeps ruling questionably in this or other well-defined scenarios, and you have verified that that is indeed the state of things, you could take further measures like talking to a Tournament Organiser or e-mailing Konami. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them. :)
