The Owl House's magic is definitely tied to emotions and mental state, just like a lot of the things we do in the real world. Like how Willow's powers r strong and uncontrollable when she's consumed by anger, almost non-existent when she doubts herself and very powerful and precise when she's in a balanced state. I feel that the same rule applies to the conjuring and it was really the magic of friendship that brought the house to life. On another note, I feel like the fact that Amity used to be Willow's friend really changes a lot for us as viewers. Of course Willow was unsure of her abilities all this time, because a person who was supposed to be her friend didn't believe in her and bullied her all these years. And I kinda feel sorry for Amity too, because through all her appearances we only saw her smile once. And that was at the Emperor's coven rally. It's clear that her "friends" rn't really her friends at all, and she lives a very strict and lonely life. At least these were my impressions of this ep.

Eda’s cure as a metaphor for disability falls off the rails in season two. But in this episode it is on point. It os easy to see the pig as and unrealistic exaggeration. I think the difference in conjuring ability might also be because they didn't have to make the entire house alive, just take control of a living entity that's already linked to a monstrously old and powerful house demon. That being said, this is the only time it moves (even when it would be useful), so clearly they did do something.

You know, I never really thought about it before, but i find it very interesting how in these First 6 Episodes of the Show we’ve only really known and seen Willow (and Gus) in Two Other Episodes before this one and we’re already about how Willow and Amity used to be Friends, i feel like a reveal like that would’ve usually happened way later in a Show like this and yes, i know that i have said something similar for the Eda Reveal in Episode 4, but i really feel like I have to point these things out, because i honestly do believe that Shows back in the day (animated or otherwise) would’ve tried saving these kind of Reveals for much later, Not to say that this Show is lesser for it, ‘cause this Show obviously didn’t really need to go any similar Routes, still for a Show like this, especially for this Show in particular, i really wouldn’t have minded if it had more Casual Episodes happening in between Episodes like this, heck i think the Show probably would’ve benefited from it, would’ve made certain Moments hit even harder, But, considering the circumstances that this Show ended up being in, it probably would’ve been pretty much impossible for something like that to ever happen. Anyway, side-note: any Guesses/Theories for why Amity’s little Group of “Friends” were unable to animate a Doll, while Luz’s Group of Friends managed to (accidentally) animate a entire freaking House?

The show The Good Place did something similar, having big reveals that would be end of season plot twists in other shows. They did this deliberately so the formula wouldn't get stale and they essentially put every reveal as early as they could while making sense for the current state of their characters and without it feeling rushed. As a result, it has fantastic pacing and no episode feels like it drags on. It wouldn't surprise me if Dana and the crew had the same philosophy given that the curse reveal, the Willow/Amity reveal as well as other reveals and character developments seem to happen as soon as they make sense.

I seen the theory of why amity and her group are unable to animate a doll was because they weren’t actually friends like luz, Gus, and willow are. Since episodes prior they established how the magical powers are emotionally charged (and episodes after also have a role to the concept as well also SPOILERS why amity hangs around the mean girls from her pov.

I'm pretty sure Amity was actually defending Willow at the beginning there...just doing so in a way that wouldn't lose her any status with her friends. Sure, she was rude, but she did get the others to leave Willow alone. Also, I'm pretty sure Amity didn't actually participate in the conjuring. If she had, they would have succeeded, but she hosted it without actually joining in.
