I don't think he attacked her because of being catfished, I think the "friend" was breaking so badly, especially with OP and her brother and his friends being onto her, that she was trying to get OP to back off and because of it branched into "r*** fantasy" territory. I disagree. I mean the friend is obviously a psychopath, but insisting on someone with a clear goal for what they want to do with their life seems a pretty childish/judgmental "standard" and I would not respect someone who had that as a deal-breaker. Some people have a vocation/calling, but not all do, and you can be a responsible hard-working person who makes a valuable contribution to society and would make a reliable partner without having a ten-year plan for your life. Maybe that is a compatibility question for you, but I don't feel like this is a question of fundamental character. Some people are really driven to make it to the top of their careers but then change their mind and realise they have other priorities when life circumstances change. Some people just don't know what they want to do with their life and then suddenly find their calling much later in life and become very goal-driven. This woman in no way deserved the illegal harassment and doxing but she does sound like a bit of a self-righteous jerk who thinks she's better than everyone else.

Meaning that the baby wasn't conceived until at least 2 full years after the divorce, and at least a year after the ex remarried. Also, he says they moved in together shortly after the divorce, but divorces can take anywhere from several months to several years, especially if the one partner is digging in their heels. So it's possible that they moved in together a few months after the divorce was finalized, but several months after they separated and the divorce process started. Also, it's actually possible that they just moved in together really fast and there was no affair, emotional or otherwise. OP is really twisting his side of the story (obviously) so I don't know why anyone would just automatically assume he's correct about the emotional affair, when he's done nothing to prove it actually happened except provide a shady timeline that's obviously truncated to make his story look better. It's pretty terrifying the lengths some men will go to to get their rocks off. 14 men in one night?? This reminds me of that episode of A Current Affair where the vengeful neighbor made sex ads for a couple and men were showing up all times of night/day. Banging on the door, calling.

I just heard a story a couple of days ago, where a woman was so angry that another couple bought a house she wanted that she went to great lengths to basically ruin their lives, including putting the wife's picture up on websites and saying she was a s** worker and liked when guys showed up unannounced and...took...from her. This "best friend" needs a restraining order and metal bracelets.

It should be a law that you specifically can't make a dating profile or anything similar for another person. In cases like this where it puts the person in danger, it absolutely should have jail time and an automatic restraining order and no internet and/or social media for the offender for at least a few years and mandatory psych evaluation and classes on how not to be such a psychopath. Boot camp maybe. Some sort of serious punishment.

Glad she got arrested and hopefully the law can put her away on multiple charges for quite some time. This is absolutely scary I hope OP can move past this and never sees this woman again, but she sounds crazy and will most likely stalk her after being released from prison no matter where she goes and likely try to become her again. OP you are likely going to be wondering why she did this. Ill give you some advice, let it go, she isnt going to come clean on that front and use that as a measure to keep you in her life, something you definitely do not want.

The first story, I actually fear for op's life and safety because I heard and read this similar situations stories and worst case scenario that her copycat friend will actually take op's life as her own by ending op's life and impersonate as op as if she is op. While she did everything that I thought like going to the police, screenshots the evidences, getting lawyer and cameras. Those can be very helpful but seeing this situation and I heard like this one. Op really need some protections and possibly change her name and location and maybe her looks because her friend is really wanted to be op.

Story 2: ESH. No, you don't get to make demands over who other people invite to their parties. Also you did kiss your coworker, that's not a little mistake. On the other hand, your wife divorced you and moved your best friend in. It's no surprise you would feel betrayed. And while your parents can invite who they want, they should have given some thought to you. On the other hand, you seem to have said that you didn't get on with your parents anyway, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised that they'd pick their friends and the baby over you. But no, you shouldn't have given an ultimatum. You' should have just not attended.
