I m 21 and i didnt get any thing except that dangelo was saying hes attracting bad crowd because hes making anti semetic jokes and then misunderstood dangelo causing dangelo to get unreasonable n exaggerated anger from people misunderstanding him because of that (idk what those are cuz idk whats anti semetic so i m gonna hav to go check that out)..but i didnt exactly get his jokes nor what anti semitism is and its not because of age its probably because of culture and language difference along with it so age or circumstance without having to be a particular age to know that your words have consequences but if you dont know what you are talking about it may cause you problems.. So i dont think age teaches ppl right or wrong in every place around the world... But the point is that even if he didnt know whats right or wrong someone pointed it out so as long as someone pointed it out the least he could do is research it if he didnt know it but apparently from the things hes doing and way hes responding to dangelo he probably does because you cant say or decide whether you are anti-semetic or not if you dont even know what that is you d have to research it first and he clearly said "i m not anti-semetic" but if i was in his shoes and since idk what he means i d say same thing i said here i.e idk what that means so either u tell me or wait till i go check that out...(i was writing this comment at the very beginning so just know i didnt see whole video properly so in case something is wrong here i hope thats excused)

My brother is 23 and autistic. When he was a teenager in high school he knew damn well he shouldn't be spouting the N-word and saying racist remarks. We lived in central texas and currently live in the deep south of S. Carolina. The number of times my brother has heard racist remarks and names towards random people and even to his friends is enormous, but he knew better than to repeat any of that. He is respectful towards all who meet him. He himself actually has some edgy humor, some dark humor as well, but he knew better than and definitely knows better now to not be making jokes like that. It doesn't matter if you're a teenager or autistic. If you're being racist, don't be surprised when you get called out. Period. How else are teenagers (especially ones with intellectual and learning disabilities) supposed to learn that they shouldn't be throwing the N-word around like a piece of candy? How are they supposed to know that some jokes are too dark and can rub someone the wrong way? How are they supposed to understand that these jokes aren't funny to say out in public? They need to be held accountable.

@@gogogetter True. Very true. Here in Charleston, after the riots and the Anniversary of the Emmanuel Shooting, tension has been through the roof. People are trying to have more peaceful protests, but they still encounter terrifying things like the KKK interrupting them and trying to start a counter-protest. Although Jews aren't a race, the south has a shit ton of anti-semitism too. It's so bad in Charleston that the synagogue downtown has hired guards to patrol the entrance and perimeter because they've been receiving threats of violence. I go to the UU church downtown, which is the 2nd oldest church in charleston, and before we closed for COVID someone vandalized the church by chucking a rock at our historic stained glass window. Thank god there was protective glass on the outside to protect the stained glass, but if it wasn't there, a 150-year-old stained glass window would be shattered and irreparable. The church service after that incident left us to face that many people here do not take kindly to our beliefs and values, and it made me more nervous about going to church than I ever did before. We also had a rainbow flag hanging on our gate that was stolen. I remember after those two incidents our safety team in the church was upgraded with some new tech and we had a couple drills. While charleston likes to think it's grown from its racist past, it still has a lot to learn. The KKK is thriving here, and they are still bold enough to make threats and harm people, and they make living here hell to who are aren't white, male, straight, and republican.

Sweet Little Owl this really hurt my heart . I’m so sorry about what happened to your church! I’m glad the window was not broken. When we were marching across a bridge into cayce, Sc this guy tried to clip us in his truck. We got his license plate. I hope you, your family and church continue to stay safe. 💜💜

@christabellille4 жыл бұрын
Iwona Kaplon Perhaps, they aren’t equivalent, but I still consider them to be similar because they both relate to not taking accountability for your actions.
@iwonakaplon33994 жыл бұрын
I disagree fundamentaly that there is anything to be held accountable for over a joke, and your only responsability from that joke is the criticism you may or may not receive, and your further reaction to that criticism (something I understand TurkeyTom hasn't done well at all). If you react poorly to a joke, that's on you.
@christabellille4 жыл бұрын
Iwona Kaplon I see what you’re saying, and I agree. My comment was referring to the way he’d handled being called racist (retorting by trying to excuse it as ‘edgy’ behaviour). I was talking about his reaction to the criticism that he’d received.
@christabellille4 жыл бұрын
This can easily be compared with someone that doesn’t vaccinate their children. Doing this is widely frowned upon in today’s society, and you’ll obviously receive a lot of criticism for it. Many people will assume that you don’t care about your child’s well-being (hence the ‘I don’t want my child to have malaria’ comment). Anti-vaxxers don’t usually respond well to this criticism and would try to excuse their behaviour by spreading negative propaganda about vaccines (however, instead of saying something like “vaccines are evil” in my comment, I just said ‘I’m an antivaxxer). The point is they use that as an excuse/retort when approached with criticism.

As a biracial woman, mother of color and white father, I know how that "I'm not racist I'm just edgy" flag flies. I have had people treat me vastly different, even if I had known them for a while, when they find out I'm not just white. My mother is Native American, I am a half breed. And for some reason when some white people find out they start with the name calling and once I had a coworker find out and she said "oh, I've worked with indians before and they're always lazy and dirty and smell bad" and then I was treated with contempt. I've had a lot of people try to hide straight up racism with the excuse "it's just a joke" and blame me for just being confrontational and looking for a fight when I tell them I don't like being called salmon slippers or pocahontas. It doesn't feel good. But people learning that I'm native has a way of revealing what they really are.

Rochelle so just a question but who should correct the person who is a child? Because the internet has a way of everyone correcting them and I think it might be a little detrimental to said child if the whole internet was to correct them. It could come off as bullying. That bullying could lead to a child hurting themselves because they couldn’t deal with the amount of “correcting” that the internet would do. Just food for thought about trying to correct younger children on the internet.
