It doesn't matter who's the best, but your videos have taught me one heck of a lot about redstone and now I'm doing my own thing with redstone seeing what builds I can come up with independently of tutorials. Am absolutely loving piston doors, trying to figure out more with pistons in general, and flying machines. Also, figuring out different ways to get the signal to travel up/down is fun, I've been coming up with more tricks as I go along.

Like I have watched you for pretty much all of my red stone needs! In my opinion it is quite hard to say who is the best, but for me, personally, in the java edittion DicoTheRedstoner and SydneyMC and MDP87&Teo and Armadillo228 and lots of other guys are the best. In MCBE the best are WavePlayz, Redstoner35, TestBH, Kilo478, EmmetJoe009, RC MC, Newcomer and lots of other guys...but it isnt me 100% But, Im 100% that even im better than Mumbo at compacting redstone builds. Cheers Mumbo! This state of mind and level of comraderee is exactly what got me into watching your channel and Minecraft in general (in my late 20s). I've learned so much from you, but also your friends in hermitcraft and the shutouts you make. I get that people want to naturally "rank" the people they love, but it's not worth it. "The best" football players are really only separated by narrow margins. "The best" car ever made is subject to so many personal preferences that it doesn't matter (BMW M3 btw). Great video. Great message. I'll keep following you and other content creators could learn from you.

Is this the end of each redstone video getting comments saying Mumbo already made this, Mumbo can do it better? I don't upload anymore but I must say I respect you're making a video to address that! Agree with everything you say in this video. I want to add a view of my own here. Many times throughout my own journey, I defended you in my own redstone community where actual redstoners often have the completely opposite opinion of you, saying you're not good at redstone at all. Now, these people, including myself, simply specialized heavily in something you didn't specialize in - doors, timings, compacting, speed, etc. - and we spent far more hours developing that skill set. Your designs often times didn't really match our standards, so whenever you created a door or anything that looked easy to make smaller, we would go ahead and do that (usually individually), many times over, until it can't reasonably get smaller. But then the designs are compared, and people say "our design is smaller, so we're better at redstone" when far more effort was required to get there. In reality, I think, mumbo doesn't have all that time on his hands to make the best. Instead, mumbo makes multiple videos every week, putting him on a very tight schedule for the last 6 years. It's an incredible feat of discipline, planning and effort, something I could never do (evidently), and I've always felt massive respect for it. In addition, mumbo has spoon fed the redstone community with new fresh ideas and concepts, and always expected other people to refine them. I can't thank you enough for that. Sometimes the builds we're actually quite impressive too. Most of my redstone projects took much longer than a day to complete, so that should say something. All the doors I worked one were also periodically interrupted to work on something non-door. Refreshing. Thanks for doing you, Mumbo.

Hey Dico, Thanks for the kind message. I agree with all of it, I used to be about compactness and trying to come up with the smallest and fastest, but eventually that stopped being my focus as I no longer found it fun, what I started to enjoy was messing about with things and trying to come up with new (and sometimes totally impractical!) concepts and ideas. I'm glad that it was appreciated by at least a handful of you technical guys haha! Hopefully the redstone community stops getting blasted with comments about 'me doing this first' however I don't think that will ever change sadly!

DicoTheRedstoner The main thing is that Mumbo creates an idea, and then builds and edits the video in like a few hours or so. And then people sit and create an improved design in five days and then Mumbo is blasted for being a douche. I feel that is just unfair to the guy. There's a chance that many of em may not have had the idea if it hadn't been for Mumbo's video, but no one thinks of that.

Etho is the man who invented many of the redstone techniques used to this day, he also improved and showed why this was a superior redstone gadget to this other one with the same purpose, he is the true OG, with out him you wouldnt have boat dispensers as early as you did which funnily enough he improved and redesigned for a video ten days later, if you look it up it is the first documented use of the boat dispenser and he even had a gag block named etho slab at one point, he is a true pioneer, i also like to think that the blue fire was added because of him, (he would burns stacks of diamonds in fire and lava in his survival world to try and create blued lava or fire), anyways over the years he has been a god at redstone with others around him ascending to a new level of redstone engineering, i feel like people skim by him because he isnt as popular as mumbo or grian but he still deserves to be recognized

What’s insane is Etho and Sethbling played on the same server. Ethi is the best at design... period. Sethbling is just a monster who made a damn phone and connected a wii to an armor stand and controlled the armor stand using his own body movement.

The Guy Who Complains why is that crazy? I mean. Sethbling has done some silly proof of concept things for sure but he has also done alot of good things for the redstone community and has inspired many more to take an interest in it. He also knows his command blocks and data packs, en early adopter of the data packs which are now used by more people partly due to him showing how they work and how they push the limits of the vanilla game. I think he had alot to do with tools like MC Edit which has been incredibly useful. Lastly. Etho, who is truly a grandfather to all modern redstone is still just a minecraft player. Whats wrong with him being in a server with another guy that uses redstone a little differently.

Good lord. I've just been back on your oldest Hermitcraft videos... and the titles, OH MY, THE TITLES! "All along the watchtower", "Trouble In Hermiton!", and so on and so forth... awesome, creative, often reference-orientated titles... they were so much fun! Maybe... try and bring some of that back?
