I am still learning Lightroom…and masking.. So I wanted to ask, if I choose to add a mask then choose sky, could I use a preset over that mask for the sky? OR could I add an image over that mask for the sky? And if so, how????? Thanks

No, you can create a preset that selects the sky and makes adjustments for the sky, so an adaptive sky mask preset like I showed in the video. But you can't apply a normal preset to a mask. And you can't add an image over a sky mask, so a sky replacement. But you can do this in Photoshop. Good luck and have fun with your editing journey! 👍

Well.., these tools in LR come in handy, no question about it, I casually use them too, but I’m reluctant to call them intelligent. There’s much marketing involved in this so called AI business. The backside of all this is that in my opinion to many photographers are relying on these tools to sugarcoat crappy images, since they seem to be forgetting how to use their gear and setting it up to obtain a good image in the first place. And sometimes, folks, the scene is just dark, hazy and dull. That’s nature.

As always with sloppy Lr editing, you forgot the details. In this case these clouds are reflected in the water. And every edit to the clouds should also be done to the reflection. And did you ever consider adding clarity to just about every part of the image is the same as adding clarity overall? Furthermore, the title of this video is just wrong. AI just helped with masking, nothing more. And it doesn’t do a very good job anyway.

This video is to show how far Lightroom's AI masking has come and how much one can do with it. You are most certainly correct about the reflection but I didn't go into any detailed editing because it's not really the point of the video. A detailed and final edit would naturally take a bit more work and time. Eitherway, I appreciate your feedback and will take it into account! 👍

You just edited this photo, which was chosen by you. Sorry, but it is just a lot of crap. And the masking with AI is terrible anyway. Use a normal photo and see for yourself. As always, Lr videos only use perfect photos, and the program does not even work well on those. I only use Lr for global edits, just like I used CR in the past. Ps is a much better tool for local edits.
