Fun fact (not actually fun but terrifying): If you are actually chocking you won't be able to shout out for help to begin with due to your airways being blocked up. So instead of trying to shout out what you should do is to bang on objects etc. to get people's attention to your plight so that you can then mime at your throat to convey what's happening.

It's also worth knowing that if you have to, you can give yourself a heimlich maneuver. You kinda need a hard surface like the back of a chair or a table or something like that to help you jam your fist into your diaphragm, but better than nothing!

I had the same experience at a cinema once as a young kid. I was watching Jurassic park and I had a hard boiled sweet I think and I was shocked by something and I inhaled the sweet and it got stuck. so me and my dad rushed out and tried to dislodge the sweet. It was stuck so bad that in the end my dad grabbed me by the ankle and lifted me off the ground and banged on my back. Thankfully it did come out :D

I once choked on a whole rasher of bacon dangling down my throat as some of the fat got stuck between my teeth. I had to grab the fat and pull the whole length of the bacon out of my throat before i choked to death. I was only about 10 and nobody else round the table had realised. Fairly glad i made it through.

Worst choke I had was an entire dried apricot that got stuck in my windpipe. I just got up from the sofa with family confused, walked to the kitchen, stuck my fingers down my throat over the kitchen sink.
