nah. just makes me feel unnecessarily thirsty. nauseous too when take a lot in a sitting.

@@matthewgerman1618I’ve never heard of it making people nauseous. How much were you taking? 😅
@matthewgerman1618Ай бұрын
@@PeteOnPurpose 5-7mg in a sitting, didn't measure just did a little more than a scoop. a slight nausea would hit after drinking it every time, didn't last long prob only 20-30 minutes but still. that on top of dietary creatine, i was getting WAY more than i needed.
@PeteOnPurposeАй бұрын
Yea not a crazy amount, I have heard of 'fitness' people taking 10mg a day, I guess with the attitude 'I would rather have too much than not enough'. Also probably helps they get their supplements for free and make money promoting them.

I have just stopped taking creatine as l found no benefit what so ever.
@PeteOnPurposeАй бұрын
Maybe you already get enough from your diet?
@EklovenАй бұрын
When I started taking creatine I was able to up the weight in most of my exercises by like 15% over a period of 2 weeks. Also, great video, and short enough for me to bother watching a whole video by a channel I've never seen before.
@PeteOnPurposeАй бұрын
15% I must be taking the wrong creatine? :p I try and make my videos as short as possible, they are usually about 10 minutes before I start editing.

eat meat, fish , eggs. simple. evolution works. we evolved to eat this high quality stuff. eat it.

A liver specialist told me that taking creatine powder is very bad for the liver. As you say, just rely on your diet.

Yes, I think getting nutrients from food is the way to go.

I think some people don't respond, I've been weight lifting for 3 years now and after using creatine for a few weeks I've noticed pretty significant strength gains and also more visable muscle definition. Gained more reps in all lifts and also sets after it not budging for 2 months. I eat a pretty balanced diet as well and nothing else has changed.
@PeteOnPurposeАй бұрын
Yea around 20/30% of people are non responder. Do you think that is creatine with a little bit of placebo effect on top or just purely the creatine?
@TheEnhancedManАй бұрын
Great to see our DNA session 😂. You hit the nail on the head, I'm somewhat of a responder, but having a diet low in it, I do pack on a little when cycling it.

I noticed a significant boost in hair loss about 3 weeks into taking 5g a day. I quite and lost 2 lbs and also stopped the hair loss. So weird.
@ChaingangsoldiernitАй бұрын
Yeah people say Creatine doesn't cause hair loss as per scientific literature, but whenever I've tried it, I've always got hairloss in the week following at significant amounts. No chance I'm starting it...
@PeteOnPurposeАй бұрын
I have heard people say it increases your DHT levels. Which, from my understanding, means if you have a genetic predisposition to hair loss, it will speed up the process.
@ChaingangsoldiernitАй бұрын
@@PeteOnPurpose I saw that as well but I don't think it's about Genetic predisposition. Im in my late 40s and have the same full head of hair as in my early 20s....so I'm obviously not predisposed to losing my hair but Creatine does the job, there has to be something more.

I take it daily but only because I read that your body’s ability to produce Creatine decreases as you get older and its a good supplement for over 50 yos. It has no impact on my workout. The best thing by far for me (for improving workouts) is caffeine or a pre-workout booster 15 mins beforehand.

As creatine is only found in animal products I would say that makes sense.
