Had to reupload the video due to an audio issue. In my experience, youtube doesnt really recommend videos that have to be reuploaded like this, so if you want to Like, Comment or Share the video it would help alot. I hope you all enjoy the story! As someone who plans to become a psychiatrist myself- I was immedietly sucked into this story. I had a million red flags go off when “Samuel” had apparently suggested a schizophrenic with active symptoms to seclude themselves On the topic of schizophrenia itself- this was beyond an amazing story depicting how it toys with the person suffering from it. The writer also did a great job of making the reader similarly question wtf is going on like schizophrenia does with it’s people

Isn’t it also cause by an excess of dopamine? So wouldn’t dopamine make it worse? I’m in the beginning of the story so if the story addresses that I apologize but that stuck out to me as a layman.

Same here :D. When I heard about the isolation bit I knew it was some dubious shit and the narrator is unreliable. I feel like this was a good story, portraying just how awful schizophrenia is, but idk, I feel kind of conflicted about the end of this story. Afterall, it's just another instance of "people with mental illnesses are bat shit crazy and will murder you and your children", and I'm so sick of that trope

Holy shit I love this story it reminds me of another story you have done before the thing in the basement that mimics. You can’t trust the main character/writer, you don’t know if it’s all fake, a delusion, it makes you question everything the writer says and I love that. Narration and production excellent as usual, but I can’t help hoping that one day someone will write a story about schizophrenia that doesn’t have hacking, slashing, murder and mayhem. I have schizophrenia and I do get a bit tired of this condition being associated with all that. I’m very quiet and peaceable, a bit locked-in, especially as I get older. Perhaps someone could explore themes of eerieness, shadows and whispering.

It's tricky, he mentions if he'd been quicker with the last one he wouldn't have been caught so maybe the kids survived? But he mentions a full clip being unloaded into his chest. However the guy now in the flat above him is old and walked with a limp and is terrified screaming "not again", prosthetics? his book is thick and filled past halfway yet he doesn't feel the urge to ever read it, why wouldn't it just be a new book each time and the realisation would just come to him because it can in hell. there's more that I haven't mentioned, it certainly leaves a lot open to interpretation.

Hello. For context, I suffer with schizophrenia, since I was 15. I'm 20 now. The medication in the story is pure Dopamine, too boost dopamine. But psychosis is a + symptom of schizophrenia, (dopamine imbalance in the V.T.A witch is the primary dopamine generator organ in the brain). And is caused by too much dopamine in the brain. This results in dilusion, hallucination, paranoia, and scrambled erratic thinking & speech. Negative ( - ) symptoms in the brain (dopamine levels too low) result in low motivation, low attention span, and lack of executive functioning skills. The character in the story definitely suffers from + symptoms and would need to be on the kind medication I'm on witch is a Neuro reuptake inhibitor or true antipsychotic, to block and lower the amount of dopamine not raise it.

The scary thing about this is it's true! I deal with major depressive disorder on a daily basis and having to deal with any mental disorder is hell all its own. These stories are a nice escape from it though. Thanks Dark Somnium ☺️

I've been listening to and loving your stories for months now. You get me through long shifts in the kitchen at work where I can lose myself in a story. The ambiance, the voice acting, the background music... You're one of my favorite narrators I've been lucky enough to come across. Thank you for the time you put in for us and thank you for keeping me company at work when it's busy and stressful. 🖤

I love your work. I first heard this story on your Spotify. It's quickly become one of my favorites. I even played it in an uninterrupted loop while moving. Disturbingly and awesomely, it works like the dude's neverending nightmare, kinda like an ultra creepy version of Lamb Chop's sing-along "Song that Never Ends". Incredible! 😁

Amazingly I just got this recommend in my notifications, always excited to listen to your s tier videos. Love this channel. Also I just wanted to say Burgrr Entries was one of my all time favorites. I hated it at first, but that's what made it so good. The production on your videos is amazing and it really shows. Just generally stopping by to say what a huge fan I am. I head you read comments and since this is a relatively new vid I hope this one doesn't get lost in the sea.

Your voice acting in this one was really phenomenal These kinds of stories are great in general, the ones where you have to question the main character and can't be sure what's real and what's not.

Some of my favorite videos you've made are the ones where the protagonist is accidentally the antagonist. The difference this one has is how much gory detail they go into. You really sold this character, really a great story!

Very good story. I usually don't like the psychological stories but sometimes there's a good one to break the mundane supernatural ones. This one stands just one the line of both.
