I have both PS5 Pro and Series X. The Pro definitely benefits on the Enhanced games, especially games like FF Rebirth and Space Marine 2. With Space Marine 2 in performance mode its razor sharp. The XSX version is a lot more blurrier. For games without a enhanced patch, the frame rate tends to be more consistent on the Pro due to the more powerful hardware, but it's very, very close. I urge you to play Space Marine 2 on both. The difference is so big in performance mode. That's the only game I can think of that's a huge difference.

Nvidia: the more you buy the more you save I mean just look at the VRAM usage at 14GB+ and you have to pay an arm and leg, $800(a 70 series), to get a 16GB card. The 7900XT 20GB for $620 is a hell of a deal and 7800XT/7900 GRE 16GB for 1440p.

I think the biggest difference is that you have the quality of the 4k mode of the base console and the performance of the performance mode without major visual increases, especially coming from Ubisoft games that are por games

Got one Christmas Eve and it's awesome. The biggest thing is looking up the games that make the biggest difference in order to get the most out of it. I was pleasantly surprised with Elden Ring in Quality Mode with my VRR capable TV. Bought Horizon Forbidden West just for this console and my jaw dropped. There are other games with modest upgrades like GT7 that you may or may not be able to tell depending on your car's style and paint color. I think as long as people have realistic expectations they will really enjoy it!

The problem is we are at a point of diminishing returns on graphics. Frame rate is the new focus and should be going forward to a true 60/4k console. People thought buying a slightly beefed up console was going to solve optimization issues on the developers end. Look at Indiana Jones for how a well optimizes game functions. Unreal 5 is also an issue.

I agree with your take on using a 1440p monitor with PS5 and Series x. I have been using them both on a monitor since launch. Maybe I just got use to a monitor and prefer it now, but don't notice the blurry image quality near as much. I tried on a 4k 65 inch hdmi 2.1 tv but went back to my 27 inch 1440p monitor. I think it's a smoother experience overall.

@@c523jw7 It will need to come out fast in games hopefully What I did notice is once the DLSS 3.5 was out the DLSS performance modes got a lot better & especially once Ray reconstruction was in Black Myth's default 3.1 DLSS performance mode didn't impress me massively, but I remember when I added 3.7 DLSS it looked great So I think the later version of DLSS make a big difference for Performance mode DLSS, Balanced usually looks good anyway FSR 4 hopefully gets to those levels

With fsr if your going 6k or 8k pretty sure your not using fsr quality. Correct me if I'm wrong. So here's a scenario. Space marine 2. You chuck on 4k textures..you got to throw on fsr and below quality cus that game is intense. Would you take that over 4k and normal with dlss..Dlss all day. Now this is why I'm saying fsr4 could literally be a game changer. The more nvidia generations come along the more I think I'm gonna leave them. If they don't give at least texture compression and its good..I'm out. I'm a 80 series owner and nvidia are ruining this series it looks like. Ray tracing won't be worth it the way this is going.

Ok you are comparing Assassins Valhalla is apparently the game has dynamic weather and at the time of comparison the weather in the next one is definitely different... I think you should try exactly the same scenes and of course, games that have the improvement patch for pro.

Great video. But i think were reaching a point where the differences are so negligible, your better off just playing where you enjoy the most. Last gen i bought the xbox one and the ps4 pro. It allowed me to experience both platforms and see a decent performance bump mid gen. Im not really seeing that with this current generation. The ps5 pro is gonna get better as time goes on. They will pull this extra power from what Frog? Tap into what extra raw power? They increased the size of the GPU die and left the same anemic CPU in the pro. The PS4 pro was a bigger bump than this pro console is. It didn't matter much you will get about the same with a little bit extra here and there and that's it. Won't be and isn't much a difference at all really. I have one myself I have put them side by side and the only real difference I notice is performance mode looks better on the pro but fidelity mode I see next to no difference at all with it.

pssr is just a light version of fsr 31 according to Mark Cerny because ps5 runs on a version of Linux and not windows. fsr is free for pc has even saved people using older NVidia graphics cards. The base version of ps5 could use pssr but they are locking in behind a paywall kind of crazy. Xbox has plans to start using fsr 3.1 frame gen in 2025 and not only will it be free but also the full version since Xbox runs on a version of windows. Also, fun fact ps5 pro does not run games at native 4k the games are upscaled just like a xbox you need a 4090 to play at native 4k with most AAA titles.

You won’t if you’re viewing pics or vids online, especially if you’re on a 1080p phone screen (even the iPhone 15 Pro I’m using only has an 1196p screen). Similarly if you try looking at a cross gen game on base PS4 and PS5 you won’t see much of a difference either. It doesn’t remake the game entirely (although upcoming games with Pro versions made during development will likely have some additions). But in person you 100 percent will see a difference. Or you’ll get Quality Mode at 30 fps on base PS5 while you’ll get the same visual setup at 60 fps on PS5 Pro. Even games without bespoke patches that use drs get a noticable bump. It’s great stuff. I went in not expecting much but there is absolutely a difference.

Tbf I do think PSSR looks good in some games Does get me excited about FSR 4 If that can look better in balanced and performance modes compared to current FSR like DLSS... then could be very useful on AMD especially on those more heavy RT games where FSR Quality is more heavy with RT However for me generally at 4K FSR does look much better than it does on lower resolutions so it ain't massively an issue atm but it does look worse in certain games and more shimmers

Yeah it’s looking pretty embarrassing for Sony. They had to back-paddle and damage control by doing not one but two public appearances to speak further on the purpose of this box to exist.

Series X used to be my go to for multiplats but the Pro has taken the place of that. I do still love XBox though, and play primarily on PC. I just like couch and big screen play as well sometimes. The upgrades you get are well well worth the 200 dollar difference over base (even games without bespoke patches that are just dynamic res or framerate get a noticable boost), and the new method of rendering color on the Pro is so much cleaner than base PS5. Went in with reigned in expectations and this exceeded those expectations for sure. I totally get people who don’t play enough for it to matter, or who don’t have a higher end tv, or who don’t care to spend more money on another console, or who don’t mind waiting, or who don’t mind 30 fps or lower visuals to hit 60. All fair and valid. But anyone who says ‘there’s no difference’ is just flat out wrong. And you definitely see it immediately in person. It’s like looking at pics of a game running on base PS4 and PS5. They’ll look almost identical on a 1080p phone screen. But we all know for dam sure that’s not the case in person. I think people will be totally fine with a PS5 or Series X though. This still is an enthusiast console. So I don’t get why people have been bickering over it. Totally fair to not want one and for those that do you will see notable benefits for sure. Especially this coming year with console exclusives like Yotei, Death Stranding 2, GTA 6, Wolverine, and others, it’s a going to be a solid console. Shit it already is with what it offers now out the gate. It delivers a great midgen regresh premium Ps5 experience and is well worth the 200 dollar difference over base. I would have loved to see an XBox ‘pro’ style console though. As their hardware is generally better in my opinion. But I get why they didn’t. And the X already had a boost over PS5 so the gap is a little smaller there. Shit, this may even help the X as if they’re making higher end versions for the Pro, they may be more apt to use more features on the X as well finally.

Another complaint about the pro. My stupid pulse 3d headset...has to be plugged into the back of the pro now. They removed the usb from the front. By being plugged in the back it's causing interference and the headset keeps cutting out. No matter where i move my system, it doesn't matter. It's basically useless for now. I'll probably need a usb adapter to move the dongle to be more exposed. I have to unhook my Steelseries from my series x to use a headset on the pro for now. Oh and Helldivers 2 has a ton of weird reflections/textures. I'm not sure if that's a pssr thing or just them making the game for janky since playing it last.

I use a usb extension cable and place the dongle as close to the edge of the cabinet. I get really good range now. I think the problem when the dongle is in the back is interference from the Bluetooth, wi-fi antennas and the machine itself. With it up front I get about 20 to 25 with no issues.

I would say get yourself a USB adapter. I bought the Venom USB hub for my PS5 pro which I was able to connect to the 2 x USB type C ports on the front of the console and I now have 5 x USB ports with 2 x USB type C and 3 x USB type A ports. Also because the adapter connects directly to both USB type C ports at the front of the console, you're getting direct USB type C throughput to the USB type C ports on the adapter and are able to use your PSVR2 headset as I can use mine. Also with the type A ports I am able to use my type A to type C play and charge cable. Just a tip with the venom hub, double check and make sure you are getting the adapter that has the 2 USB type C connection points and not the type A connection point which is for the older model PS5.

Dude your AMD vs Nvidia analysis is terrible. It's trying to find fault with Nvidia vs ignoring fault with AMD. Yes you can use AFMF in most if not all games but it'll only work decent in maybe 10% if your lucky. You still have about 4 anti lag plus games. Fsr3 vs DLSS is a ridiculous loss for AMD not only for the amount of times FSR3 actually appeared but worse still that it's 50/50 if it will actually look decent. DLSS does NOT look sharp and crispy, like that's just dishonest. Your VSR description is confusing.. It does NOT change the pixels of your screen, that's completely impossible. It tries to add more information into the pixels you have. If that's not at a 4:1 ratio it doesn't actually work that well. 1440p to 4k on VSR for me has been extremely hit and miss as its not at that 4:1 ratio.. DSR 1440p to 4k actually worked a lot better. Plus let's be completely honest this again is a feature for high end gpu's and something on a low use scenario as its a feature that'll tank performance. At least with Nvidia it was more usable as for people running 1440p could use DSR to 4k (loss in performance) then enable DLSS to bring back some performance loss. With VSR those options are more limited as your using FSR to bring back performance and in doing so adding bad anti aliasing, which was something you were trying to get away from by using VSR in the first place 🙃... And yes you have more headroom on a XTX, not every AMD gpu is a XTX..

Its just that AMD's top card didn't line up with Nvidia's top card! Would have fixed the stack!😂😂... But.... Nvidia! 🙄😂 So hats off to AMD for holding 16gb further down the stack. and YES! I figure it would be a nice little upgrade for 4-6 months till the BIG BOYS release all their offerings! and yes their will be comparisons on my channel!😂🤣 Little scary though as my entire duel Gaming/capture PC will be Intel for a short while as I capture on an A380, and the rigs are 12900ks (was cheap!£200!), z690, and a 12500t because I already had a B660 MOBO and I wanted a low consumption CPU try and balance out the 12900KS consumption a bit!😂🤣 and with at least 6core12threads and I wanted UHD770 for... multi tasking GPU reasons... I’ve noticed massive differences with the PS5 Pro in terms of resolution quality and for certain games just smoo the er experience. Cyberpunk performance mode on PS5 Pro runs at 1800p almost locked and 60fps with some dips here n there. Compare that to XSX that rarely ever hits 1800p and typically runs mid 50 to low 50 frames especially inside of Night City. Every game I’ve played that has DRS looks considerably better on PRO this is all without PSSR implementation. Ppl like to down play the Pro but in my experience it’s actually a big difference to my eyes and it’s hard to show that on KZbin. I do most of my gaming on XSX but since having the Pro it’s hard to buy games on Xbox considering it runs and looks much better on the Pro.

A lot of people do, I did. The PC gaming experience is not for everyone. it is great when you are playing a game that has been out a while, and then you can just max it out. It's not so great when you are waiting a year for a major release, or when a major release comes out unoptimized and in poor form. It really depends on which games you play. If you play a lot of games from a developer that doesn't care about its PC releases, but if all the games you play are PC-centric, then yeah.

I have no idea what you guys are getting at with this. All games are made on PCs. Even console games are no exception. They are first coded programmed and created on PC then get optimization work through development kits. It's not and never was about your development struggles or what 5% of hardware you might think presents the game in the best light, it is about what is given priority for minimum playable state by the higher ups. And that is usually consoles. The proof is in the pudding. Some developers/publishers don't care about the end result on PC. They hand it off to another studio for example to finish it. When I talk PC centric, I am talking about games that naturally sell well on PC, usually long form multiplayer games like ARPG's, MMO's. These games tend to get way more attention to their PC versions. And occasionally you get a game, that is so ambitious, but still ends up making most of its money on the console version even if it has to be severely downgraded. This is what I mean by PC centric. Because too many people steal games or buy on sale on PC, it is often not given priority for triple A singleplayer games. It's treated like an afterthought. If it weren't for consoles, games like the Witcher 3 wouldn't even be affordable to make anymore. There is a reason GTA 6 isn't launching on PC. Because it is not priority. They want to make the maximum amount of money on consoles first, and ensure those versions are as well optimized as possible. They know some people will literally go out and buy a console for it because they can't wait. They don't want people stealing the game day one and cutting into their sales. They want them to double dip on PC later.

Why show a bunch of clips from games which have not heen PS5 Pro patched? Also, for the ones that have you don't do a side by side? My main is my Series X, but i have recently upgraded my PS5 to a Pro. I've found the upgrades can vary. Of the games i have tried which HAVE been patched, Hogwarts Legacy, GT7and FF7 rebirth are very obviously improved. Others such as Dead Island 2 just recieve a resolution bump, which is very subtle in motion. The new PS5 pro 120 hz/ 40 fps balanced mode for Wukong is also very good.

I think this is a fair opinion and take @fanboys on this channel; 1.) Xbox Series X has better Hardware than the base PS5 2.) Base PS5 has better software for developers to optimize their ports/game to the console than Series X -Most multiplats, ported Xbox games to PS store, and Sony exclusives are showing PS5 performs better. *YES there are exceptions to that statement for example "A Plague Tale Requiem" runs better on XSX 3.) Series S limits the capabilities of Xbox Series X because Microsoft wants developers to also port their games to it which slows down development time for both and can lead to lower performance and unoptimized games for the Series X. 4.) Base PS5 doesn't utilize all of the speed of HDMI 2.1 in Gbps and no software update like Xbox where you can play with Low Framerate Compensation below 42 fps, so it struggles and stutters where as Xbox forces capable monitors and TV's to run at 120 HZ/ VRR to run smoother and able to render 40 fps and lower better than Base PS5. -This means that backward compatible multiplat games like RDR2 (Red Dead Redemption 2) will look and perform better on XSX than PS5 and sometimes PS5 Pro 5.) PS5 Pro > PS5 & Series X overall in performance and graphics *PS5 Pro still doesn't have LFC and is also limited with HDMI 2.1 speeds in Gbps so Xbox wins there. Sony could add this though in an update.

I agree with what your were saying, except the series x gets better because of ps5 pro. The series x and vanilla ps5 are hitting their limits already. I dont see ps5 pro opening up some secret hidden power of the series x. Even Microsoft can unlock that hidden power. Just bought a PS5 Pro yesterday and i also have a Series X. I have an LG C9 TV which is VRR capable. Hands down NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE with how PS5 Pro can run in quality mode and stay within the PS5 Pro VRR window (48fps and above) ehich allows it to appear at a locked 60fps! I was floored since my Series X looks super choppy compared to my buttery smooth PS5 Pro. Didnt expect that drastic of a difference. I was literally shocked.

I have both consoles so I watched Digital Foundry's video on Mortal Kombat 1 to see which version to get. The Xbox Series X version runs at a higher resolution than the PS5 (1800-2160p on the Series X, 1440p to 1600p on the PS5).
