This style of bearing should have slight play. Take them apart, if there's no discolouration or grooving you can feel with your fingernail, clean and repack them, and they'll be good to go! For reinstall, crank the nut tight with channelocks, spin the wheel a few times, then crack them loose and snug by hand to the closest cotter pin. Very rare that they actually require replacement.

The what you called bypass throttle boby, is actually a short runner valve, and it does exactly that. depending on rev range and throttle input. It either opens or closes to change runner length and optimize horsepower. And it’s a great thing too helps a lot with these engines
@pcihector
@pcihector Жыл бұрын
What?
@cheerdiver
@cheerdiver Жыл бұрын
@@pcihector Changing the runner length helps optimize torque at low RPM. Similar to how changing the expansion chamber length on a two-stroke engine will help with acceleration. Examples can be seen in European boat racing. It has to do with natural fluid frequency resonance.
@Bargermaintenance
@Bargermaintenance Жыл бұрын
Completely wrong lol, These engines have two modes from factory depending on which key you use. The black key opens the bypass valve, therefore limiting boost created and only puts out around 500hp, the red key will close the valve maximizing the output of the supercharger therefore creating the most power.
@1dave301
@1dave301 Жыл бұрын
Bypass valve opening allows more top end air into the engine. Longer intake runner length is good for lower rpm's, shorter runner length improves upper rpm air flow. The black key causes several changes to reduce horsepower. @@Bargermaintenance
