I feel empathy for the girl whose mother chose yoga class over looking at wedding dresses with her daughter. Mom worked and so did I. I invited her to come with me on a Saturday to help choose my wedding dress and I assured her I was paying for it. I shopped alone and bought a knee length dress I could afford. It was very pretty but not the dress of my dreams. She later told me if she was there she'd feel forced to buy it. She didn't see my dress until my wedding day. She was disappointed it wasn't long. I told her she could have had input before I bought it but she didn't come.

I'm so sorry your mother failed you on such an important day. Even if she couldn't afford to either buy or contribute to the purchase of your wedding dress, she should have been there on gave you her support and share your joy this and she allows herself to criticize your choice is so wrong, she seems like a very selfish and toxic woman. I hope she was a better mother to you growing up, but I find it hard to believe it and I'm so sorry for you. I myself am the mother of a wonderful daughter and I can't imagine not being there for her when she chooses her wedding dress and I will happily pay for it and whatever style she chooses,I know it will be beautiful when she wears it. Some parents have the strange attitude that their role as parents ends when the child turns 18, my husband and I believe we are parents for life, of course our role changes when our daughter is getting older, but we will always be there for her and support her in every way. Children are not born with an expiration date 😊I wish you and your husband a long and happy life‼️

I lost my uncle due to epilepsy. They learned of him having it when he was in the Air Force in Thailand. Less then a year after he returned home and while driving his car had an epileptic episode. An officer seen he was acting a bit odd while at a stop light. My uncle turned off the main road when the episode occurred. He died on impact with a tree within a block. I remember him as a "hero" for turning off the main street when he felt the seizure coming on. Rest in peace Uncle Boyd. I will forever have your bars, name tag, flag and pool cue. 50 years later and I still remember and miss you.

I identified as bi for a while before I found the pan label. I came out to my fwb and he was totally cool with it…for a while. Then kept mentioning a female friend of his and that she was bi. Kept making “jokes” that we’d love each other and totally want to hook up. Kept asking me if I was bi why I’ve never been with a woman (I just connect better with men usually, at least sexually), then came the three way jokes to “ease me in” to having sex with a woman so I won’t “get scared or grossed out”…dude, I’m into women, why would I be grossed out? Cut that off asap. He didn’t get that I didn’t appreciate those comments but when he started with the three way comments I said that’s what this was all about and to never talk to me again. He messaged me several months later like all was cool. I think he genuinely forgot about what happened. Mental people out there. Stay safe folks.

To the best of my knowledge and highly simplified, Christians believe the path to their god is through Jesus. Jews believe it’s direct from the person to god, no middle man. Jews reject the concept of god in human form. Jews don’t recognize Jesus as divine. Christians literally derive their name from their following of Jesus as god in human form, as part of a holy trinity. And they don’t particularly like any peoples, not just Jewish, that don’t see things their way.

@@WhitneyDahlin nope, having gone through both hallucinations from temporal lobe epilepsy and a cheating spouse, the cheating spouse was easier. He was cut loose. @@pansprayers very true I'm not saying that having epilepsy or any type of hallucinations is ideal. but for me personally I'm in a unique position I have no family no support system besides my husband and his family and we have been together for almost ten years. @@WhitneyDahlin you aren't in a unique position. I was in the ICU, and our two kids were in the PICU and NICU, 50 miles away from each other when I found out he cheated it was because he'd created five kids during that time, and they tried to go after MY wages. No family support. None. Saying 'I'd rather die than have him cheat' is a gross, dramatic performance that warrants an exploration with a therapist on why you feel it's OK to make such performative statements. Traditional wedding cows say"...in sickness and health until death do us part.". My husband had a "nervous breakdown" and chased me with a large chef's knife. I ran next door and called our older Christian mentors. The man calmed him down while his wife went upstairs while I got dressed and set out clothes for my husband. It was just after 6:00 am on weekday. They drove us to a mental hospital where my husband spent the next four weeks. He'd been under great stress at work and with his parents. I had 1 meeting with his psychiatrist when he was admitted and when he was set to come home. My husband got a disbelieving look on his face when I spoke of the knife incident. He spent 2 more weeks at home before going back to work. I admit I was nervous enough to hide the knives and sharp tools before he got home. That was 33 years ago and he's been a great, supportive husband with no questionable events again. Believe in our vows and the basic goodness in my husband is why we just celebrated our 53rd anniversary. I feel sorry for you, and whomever you marry, if you'd give up on him for any reason - short of him being a chronic mental and physical abuser.

When I was ~4 or 5 years old I had to take some pretty heavy antibiotics, the doctor neglected to inform my mother that a possible side effect was hallucinations, which was especially prevalent in children under 10. She apparently found this out because I was lying on the ground, trying to swim through the hardwood floor and whispering to myself ‘I can’t see the bottom’ repeatedly. While scary for her at the time my mom finds it kind of hilarious now.

Story 1, I was thinking hallucinations in the first op post due to the focus on the voice and she only briefly seeing the girl. I have a disorder that causes psychosis and most of the time, my hallucinations are things that could be real and in my mind they make perfect sense. Hallucinations are not always weird stuff. People can suffer from psychosis and not know bc their hallucinations are stuff that could be real. Sometimes it's something so simple as thinking you are talking to another person, maybe someone you know, having a completely normal conversation. That's why psychosis is scary, once you realize you hallucinate something that could be real, it makes you doubt everything else and that's when paranoia sets in. One of mine was simple has me thinking I had this beautiful poted plant in my living room that didn't needed too much water. Okay to the vasectomy story. Why does that man not have a choice? It is his body his choice. I was in an extremely abusive relationship and my ex-husband demanded that I got my tubes tied after a third pregnancy. During the last breath of my child him and his father were in the labor room watching a college football game have very loud volumes and he was on the phone with his mistress fighting with her. Once my daughter was born he fed her and gave her to his mother before I ever had a chance to bond. A few weeks later I got a large cyst on my on my ovary I had to have this removed and the doctor said that if I needed anything else done this would be the time to do it this is when my ex-husband pushed for me to get my tubes tied. He said that the abuse would stop if I got my tubes tied because then that way he would not be stressed about more children and he would quit beating my children and quit abusing me so reluctantly I agreed. It was a day surgery and that evening he dropped me off at his mother's house and went and partied with his friends to celebrate. He had promised that after I got my tubes tied he would have his vasectomy. He never got it. Anyway it was just a horrible experience and I went through a huge depression and actually had a nervous breakdown which led to him being more abusive and anyway it all ended bad and I'm still suffering for it. Do not do anything to your body that you do not want to do.

I have temporal lobe epilepsy too. For me, it's almost like emotional seizures. If I'm happy, I'm estatic. If I'm upset, I'm in a murderous rage. Long story short, it is NOT an easy thing to deal with and any partner that can be supportive through all the seizures side effects is someone you need in your corner. My husband was my best friend since first grade and was my constant calm and steady rock when I felt so miserably out of control. He died 3 weeks ago on our 11th wedding anniversary at 38 years old from pancreatic cancer. Words can't express my devastation at his loss. If you find a partner that can support you at your worst, and vice versa, that is a relationship worth working hard for.

I know I JUST commented, but wanted to add a tidbit about men's birth control. The reason men's birthcontrol keeps ending up on the back burner, is because of the side effects. And though they are simular side effects to women's, it's about if the medication outweighs the side effects. For wemon the side effects are seen as ok, because they are better than the outcome of being pregnant. But for a man, a natural one who can't actually get pregnant, the side effects are seen as excessive because without the medication there would be no pregnancy in the man's body. The medications aren't about the other person's body, but the body consuming the medication. So as asinine as it is, that's why the pill for men hasn't made it to the public yet.

The fact people were still trying to pressure him into getting a surgery he DIDN'T WANT was fucking INSASANE, seriously. I didn't want to get an endoscopy done, even with my horrific nausea and reflux issues and was pressured into getting one because "Well it's not that invasive." They trashed the back of my throat intubating me because they were fucking shit at it and decided to use a tube TOO BIG for my throat as I'm a very small person, and I had a horrible reaction to the anesthesia later on as well. So no, it's not "just a vasectomy", it's still a risk. It is always a risk when you undergo *any* sort of surgery or procedure. Getting your blood taken has risks, even. Pressuring someone into a medical procedure is disgusting, and anyone who agrees with his wife is disgusting, and should be ashamed of themselves.

Still waiting to reach this story in the vid (don't know where it is yet) cause it sounds interesting and I wanna know all the details. Usually I hear about scenarios where dude wants a form of permanent form of birth control and wants female partner to get a tubal ligation while they themselves would not be willing to get a vasectomy. I'd tend to side with wife only cause tubal ligation tends to be more dangerous than vasectomy and I think it's an assholey/hypocritical move to expect somebody to get surgery while not being willing to put your own crotch on the line. To clarify I think it's morally bankrupt to try and pressure anyone into doing medical procedures they don't want. I just think it's even lower to expect someone to put their body on the line when you personally wouldn't put your own on the line that way. Like I think that guy should hit his wife with a "if you were in my shoes would you being willing to undergo tubal ligation?" and depending on her answer he'll see even more of his wife's true colors.

Any woman whose husband wants another woman more than her should deal with finances before he can drain the account. My sister didn't and she and her 2 kids were left with no money. They'd decided she should be a SAHM so she had no job or career. She managed to delay until after their 20th wedding anniversary a few months later. He was prominent in their church and after she told him she was going to tell the elders what he'd done suddenly money appeared in their account. She didn't even drive so I taught her to drive and took her to the bank to open her own bank account. 20 years of marriage made a difference financially. She never remarried so when he retired her Social Security increased. He was claiming he was broke but bought a plane - before the divorce. The judge didn't like that!

Antisemitic boyfriend/mother story: Given how amazingly antisemitic and clueless the boyfriend/father is, it's hard to believe that the OP got far enough involved with him to have a child together. Even for me (not Jewish) all the red flags prior to this incident would have been absolute deal-breakers to even continue speaking to the guy, let alone sleeping with him! I like how most of the responses on the vasectomy story are telling OP to get over it and just have the vasectomy even though he's literally doing nothing. The wife made the ultimatum of "get a vasectomy or no sex" and he chose no sex. There's nothing wrong with not wanting to make alterations to your body. "But the wife took birth control for years!" Please point to the part where OP made her take it or got upset with her that she wanted to stop. "She shouldn't have to go through those procedures when a vasectomy would be so easy!" Please. Point. To the part where OP is making her do any of this. Jesus, let the dude not want to have his body altered. If anything, if he got pushed into the procedure, it might just foster resentment.

They have likely spent a LOT of money on rehab and other things to keep this person alive this long and are likely unwilling to give them anything else that might have any potential to enable them to kick off addiction again. Like, 'oh, my rent's set to be paid for the next two years? Then I've got all this free money from my job for drugs instead of paying rent!' is not an impossible fear, it's entirely possible that could be the reality. You can't predict if they will stay sober or if any windfall is all it takes for them to go 'to hell with soberity!' And they likely sat them down to say they won't be getting inheritance because better they know now than be surprised and trying to fight their siblings over the money later and give everyone a hard time when they're already grieving. With how they still talk manipulatively, the parents are likely afraid that anything they offer will just enable further addiction because they are still thinking and talking like an addict who is still trying to shun consequences or negotiate to avoid them.

I weaned off all of the pain meds as soon as i could. I have enough problems with my brain sending me messages that aren't true just with depression and anxiety, i don't need any more!

@@TutuFerret my sister was seeing family members we hadn't seen in years in our living room. Swearing up and down our step dad was sitting right next to her when he wasn't even home. Honestly still don't know who was more terrified us or her cause we were all equally losing our shit

One of my aunts had back surgery. So after surgery they kept her in the hospital and were giving her pain meds, not sure which (was yrs ago, so can't remember). She had a bad reaction to the pain meds. She became super paranoid that there was a conspiracy to murder her and thought everyone was in on it. Even my uncle, aka her own husband. One day she even asked them to call my dad to come to hospital, but when he agreed to come quickly, that was a sign he was in on it, so said don't let him in. She was even convinced the stuff written on the dry erase board in the room was the plan, like they wrote it out or something. They had to stop giving them to her and once they were out of her system, she went back to normal and kept apologizing to everyone. Crazy to think how meds affect certain people.

I wonder if Sarah was acting unfriendly towards her because OP had said something weird/creepy to her and OP had no idea about it. Then told OP’s bf about it which is why he was so scared when he finally confronted OP

Mother in law is gross. Her son needs to stop defending her. Anyone else accidentally typo that slur because L and K are next to each other and correct it in horror or is that just me and my terrible touch typing + arthritis?

It's why I've stopped using "sec" as shorthand for "second"... because once every third or fourth time I type it, I'll invariably type "sex" and freak out I might accidentally send that in a work text some day.

The one with the antisemite: they’re still gaslighting her. “It’s a shame she came out of a tyke”? If they were actually using a slur about the op then they wouldn’t have changed it to tyke.

How are y'all saying he's gaslighting her when she literally asked him about a "neural wifi" lol. That's literal psychosis. Edit: Also, Depakote and side effects? She needs to get a second opinion. I've been taking Depakote for like 4 years and haven't had a single issue, and this medication was recommended for me exactly because it has little side effects.

I made it a week on depakote (epilim) before I refused to take it any more. That was only a couple of weeks ago. It had horrendous side effects for me that I wasn't able to tolerate and made my mood worse instead of better. What I think that commenter might be alluding to though is the whole birth defect thing that makes them reluctant to prescribe it any more to women of child-bearing age without some solid birth control. I too wasn't ready to jump to the conclusion that the boyfriend was cheating. It seemed to be some sort of paranoia mixed with hearing things, but i didn't know quite what was going on.

Depakote has multiple known side effects, including liver failure (those quarterly labs aren't just for fun), weight gain, nausea, headaches, increased seizures in a small portion of the population, acne, and more. It's literally in the information pack. Your confirmation bias isn't data.

British Sara: I was just waiting on her to say that Sara was at her neurologist office. She seemed almost obsessed with this Sara girl and her BF. She sounds crazy, BF should run and warn Sara about how his crazy ex gf is obsessed with her and may harm her.

They need to be reminded that Jesus was a JEW. INRI fhe writing above Jesus literally means king of the Jewish. All catholics know this. And since they must not really bei.eve in cathlolsim and are only cathlolic ons sunday and high holidays. The entire old testiment is all about Jewish traditions. Maybe you can show them the torah and the old testiment. Make sure your son knows that both religons are nearly identical so he is armed with the Truth and can fight back and tell him that so e people are unwilling to discuss d8ffernces without saying any name. He will understand,

The fact that he has taken mil side every time is telling. Wonder if he thought he could covert one of those ‘ ungodly Jews’ to Christianity 🤷‍♀️

Yeah, the antibiotic mania happens with sulfa antibiotics. My dad stomped on a guy sleeping in his machine shop because he thought he was a snake. No one in my family can take sulfa drugs especially sulfa antibiotics.

I must be too jaded. I'm here thinking what if this guy is just a master manipulator and has some connection to the neurologist and they're collaborating. Then seeing other comments from people with temporal lobe epilepsy. Apparently it really can cause hallucinations of this sort. And I'm still like "but what if he is manipulating her?" Maybe he knew those were possible symptoms and orchestrated the whole thing to make her think that's happening. I mean think about it, it's the perfect set up. He'll be able to completely dominate her perception of reality. She's convinced she's prone to audio and visual hallucinations and trusts him explicitly.
