Seems like all of you missed the most obvious point. This blowtorch gets much hotter than any hair tool on the market. The point was IF these products can protect against a blowtorch. They will certainly protect against any hair tool that's used. Bread will burn faster than hair as well. I don't see how you all missed all this. Bread burns faster than hair. The key thing for Oil heat protectants is the smoke point (like a boiling point for water but just for oils). If it is higher than the temperature you’re using on the hair it will act as a protecting seal. If it’s lower, it will sizzle your hair. Every oil has a different smokepoint.
@esthertjones Жыл бұрын
Ooh, good to know! Is there a chart somewhere that lists the various smokepoints?
@SweetStuffOnMonarchLane Жыл бұрын
Still though, like he said, you'd have to apply so much oil to provide coverage to your hair, it would be a grease fest. In other words, a drop or a few drops of oil can't be dispersed all over the hair evenly like the other products he described.

About 10 yrs ago, I found a bottle of hair ...stuff on my local grocery's marked down shelf. It said "heat protection for blow drying" so I decided to try it. (I can imagine your face right now.) I used about a dime size amount combing it through damp hair before blow drying. My sets would last almost 4 days. When the bottle ran out, I couldn't find the same stuff so I used what I had before. Awful, AWFUL results!! Had to cut off my hair. It made a believer out of me. Now I will not use heat without a heat protector. And I no longer use hair products from the grocery. Not only do they have incentives but they don't Know all the reasons you are looking for a specific product other than you're hair and skin type. There are many other factors in Choosing hair and cosmetic products.

@@annan.3283 possibly but he chose the best ones to represent. Olaplex and Morroccan oil are seriously great products. Expensive but you only need a few of them mixed with more Affordable options. 1 bottle of olaplex 2 lasted me 2 yrs and saved my hair from bleaching damage. As far as the oil its great but pure argon oil from a vitamin shop is a better buy.

I purchased the Sephora Oleplex 6 & 7 set at Christmas, and I do not like the oil at all. Then I saw Tiktok videos with a tip lighting on fire with that oil. I rave about Oleplex 6 and love 3 on occasion, plus the shampoo and condition, I'm tossing that oil. I also purchased that Pureology conditioner and noticed my hair damaging from blow dry and straightening. It was healthier when I just used the 6. just Pureology makes my hair so soft and almost static. Got the kenra for curls and doesn't work that bad when I curl, makes my hair dirty the next and I use a little and brush first.

Thank you for your videos, I really like how transparent and honest you are! I would love for you to do a similar video about protecting silver/white hair from heat. I do need to use hot tools a few times a week and I don't want to damage/burn it.

Hi, I just started watching your videos recently and I have adopted your routine, my question to you is, when you color and highlight your hair, should you avoid shampoos with sodium Laureth sulfate? Like I use the redken shampoo for fine hair, it does contain sodium laureth sulfate..now upon researching the subject, it seems sodium lauryl sulfate is bad..so I am confused, should I use shampoos for color treated hair? Does it matter honestly ? Thank you and I truly enjoy your informations, totally honest !!

Hi Chris! I watched a lot of your video’s and the’re very helpfull. Thanks for that! The only problem is that I can’t get the Redken 22 spray in the Netherlands.. 😔 Is there any alternative? Instead of the other one that you just talked about?

Hey Chris! Love your videos so much, I’ve watched almost all of them! In your volume video you recommended the Redkin Stay High 18 for a ton of volume, but the product is now discontinued… do you recommend anything new now that will give me more volume than their blow dry cream of theirs? I have fine hair, and “too much” volume doesn’t exist to me! 💗💗💗

Hey professor! I've been using your routine for coarse hair and it's done wonders for me, but I still have some breakage. Can I use Olaplex, considering I've never dyed my hair, will it help?

Thank you for this video... it is like you were reading my mind... I like to make curls with my flat iron. The problem is that when I use the redken 22 thermal spray, the iron does not slide easily and pulls my hair I guess is for the stickiness of the product.

Vitamins and vitamin esters can provide some heat protection ( Panthenol and its esters, tocopherol - Vitamin E, Wheat Germ Oil, some amino acids and polypeptides) as well as some Quats and polymers.

I tried the Rdken but because it has water in it it's just adding moisture to my hair. I have wavy hair that I'm trying to straighten. The worst thing for that is water. So I'm not going to spend all that time blow drying only to add water back. I use the Beyond the Zone stuff.

I’ve been watching your videos to learn how to take better care of my hair. I like how you are to the point and not trying to promote just any product. I appreciate it!!! Do you think you will ever do a video about what is the best hot rollers to use? How or best techniques when your using hot rollers? Thanks!!!

Okay maybe it’s a dumb question but when using a flat iron should you put on heat protectant when your hair is wet and let it air dry or place it after hair dries?

Should you put the heat protectant on damp hair or dry hair ? What about when you need to refresh your blow out can you use it on dry hair right before and do you need to let it dry ? :)

Hey Chris- many thanks for your videos - my hair has never been better! Do you have any recommendations for heat protection products apart from the redken 22? Looks like that one may be discontinued at least here in Europe. I can only find the low hold 11 version. Thanks

That redkin 22, do you spray all over before flat ironing, or do you spray each section? Can you also use it for blow drying? Or would a blow dry cream be better? A lot of ppl say redkin 22 is sticky, how does it compare to the redkin 11 thermal spray?

Thank you for all of this wonderful content!!! I would love a recommendation for a pre-iron heat protectant without short-chain alcohols in the formulation. I learned the hard way to avoid those in all hair and skin care products ( for postmenopausal females ).
