My worst Ramen ever was in 2011. A sushi bar in my little town started serving "authentic" ramen. Being the resident anime nerd / Japan fan, I convinced all my friends to go. (6 peeps including me) 22$ per bowl for instant noodles in regular chicken stock and overcooked/boiled chicken breast slices. No oil, no tare, no toppings. I had talked it up so much. I was so embarrassed. I paid for the whole meal and every suggestion from then on was pizza 😣

I also wait at least a month or two after it opened to be able to see the reviews if they are good then I go if they aren’t great I avoid it. I have yet to eat at a restaurant that sucked with that method
