With the compression bags, the real ones are called “Space Bags” there was an infomercial on them for several years a while ago. You get a vacuum and all the air gets sucked out. I have and use them and I 100% recommend them.

Hefty makes some too that don't require a vacuum. You just sit on it and it presses all the air out. I love it because my vacuum doesn't have the right attachment 😅

Try folding the shirts the other way round. Not towards the front but towards the back. Then, even with her technique, you may be able to identify part of the print. On the other hand, if your current system works for you, I personally wouldn't change anything.

One of my favorite hacks - put clothes in with hanger hook facing out, then once you wear item rehang with hook facing in. Then get rid of the clothes you haven’t flipped once the season is over/ or after a year.

It depends on the person, if she can keep it up then it's a superior organizing method for her. But plenty of can make their systems work and guess what, they are real people living real life. But tbh the best cathartic purge is hoarding shows

You could utilize the empty space in the underwear draw by placing the vacuumed bags under the underwear organizers (or you could put there the big pijamas folded flat)

Th only problem with that is that plastic hangers might not be able to take the weight. Many denim shorts is much heavier than many cotton tank tops.

I fold my shirts similar to how they fold them in store so you can see the logo/print what is on the shirt then store them logo up. It is great to know what shirt it is without taking it out. It is also good for deep drawers

If you are gonna put your bags away, why not just put them all in the suitcase? And also if hangers don't have the divots, you can hook your tank top straps behind the little hooks that are right there, and it works just fine.

That's the real challenge, maintaining the new system. Anybody can get a surge of energy to reorganize, but dealing with putting stuff back in the right place is another story.

Please do the part 2 for this because as you have probably realized that some hacks work and some don’t and there are more hacks what especially you can do. 4:03 you may have realized your self but hanging it from the trouser part works better and you could have another one in between (without attaching it to the hangers) or you can use the “space between” for handbags or such if you want. 7:50 as you said there is lots of empty space unused: you could use the clothes bag from 14:36 to utilize the space underneath the items to lift them up in the drawer. 8:48 sports bras are really well done, why not put them in between of the tops and bottoms so you can faster see what is what. One hack is to get drawers to slide better it to rub candle to the drawer shafts (or what ever the slider mechanism is called). 9:37 nicely folded, you could turn them 90°. They don’t look as nice as you have them now but they probably take less space. 11:46 you seem to have a lot of different kind of hangers. Now I’m not one of those people who thinks that you have to get rid of them because it’s not very environmentally friendly thing. Instead how about having all the similar hangers next to each other. Now you could see from the hanger in what category the clothes are e.g. all the blue hangers could be for flannels or such or if the most of the hangers are white, then have a “divider” hanger for sorts. 12:18 why do you hang your tank tops again? By the law of gravity and using the shower curtain rings they will end up in one side and is very hard to use. I mean I could imagine that if they are silk or other material there will be wrinkles. You had such a lovely tip in 11:03 why not utilize it or use the hooks on the hanger. 13:09 visually it’s very pleasing but practically maybe not so much, you could use the similar shelf space as for other trousers to save space space. Now, if you test all of these or couple of them and find them useful, that is grate, but again, the idea is not to point out that everything is wrong, no, it’s you space and you do what ever you feel to be the best for your lifestyle. I’m grateful that this video was not one of those “I live with 3 shirts and one pair of trousers, look how organized I am”.

The easiest back you can do to make your closet mote aesthetically pleasing is to GET RID OF THOSE PLASTIC HANGERS. Get those nicer felt/velvet hangers in one color and not only will that instantly make your closet look nicer, but the hangers themselves are much thinner and allow for you to hang up MORE things. Also, instead of hanging your shorts like that and taking up room, buy those tiered pants/skirt hangers to hang them up. They work similarly to those "space saving" hangers around the 11:30 mark.

The OCD/Konmari Method half of my brain wants to take literally everything out of her closet, then organize and subcategorize everything she owns and put it all back in a Konmari fashion. I file fold for the most part with all of my household clothing and linens (2 adults/1 child). It works pretty great for us! You're probably right about it not working if you have too many clothes. We try to have capsule wardrobes for us and our child which helps a lot.

I organized all my T-shirt drawers, I rolled them all very nicely, I was so proud, I knew it would work really well. Then reality kicked in, after using a T-shirt I didn’t roll them back up again. So much for that hack, I guess you have to keep rolling them after wearing or washing the shirts.

I use the same drawer dividers for my underwear and I LOVE THEM! I also do the trick with panties where you roll them instead of folding them-- makes a world of difference as far as how much you can fit

Best thing for skirts is 4 tier clip hangers, I can pull one hanger out of my wardrobe and just spin the hanger and flip a few of the skirts up to see how they look with various outfits, instead of juggling multiple hangers etc

One main hack I was looking for the whole time that never happened...use all matching hangers (ideally all the thin velvet ones) since they take up less rod space. Then you can have extra space to move your clothes around before even getting rid of any!

If you go the folding/rolling route, for anything other than plain items make sure to fold the logo or pattern on the outside- that way you can see which item is which without pulling out 'all the black shirts'

An extra helping tip with the organisation of the drawers: If you have 'period pants' ad opposed to nicer, lacey pants (or underpants if you're American 😂) you can put the 'period pants' to the bag of the dividers and then put thicker pjs (Like Chloe's) on top. That way, when you're wearing your period pants, you can just move the thicker clothes to cover the nicer pants and vice versa.

Another good hack it getting pretty inexpensive plastic containers from walmart for shoe storage. Stack them upon each other, and if you're OCD like me make a quick pic or description, and tape it on. *warning these are for flats, tennis shoes, flip flops, and anything without a heel. If you want a box for heels just go online and find the bigger plastic boxes with lids. They keep everything clean and tidy, identifiable, and easily organizable. They also protect againt dust, pet hair, etc. Wonderful, and *cost effective * way to go. And ladies, I am a shoe maven, I know from whence I speak! Just an Idea but a good one, especially if you have limited closet space! Hope it helps!

To be fair, even if she did clean out her closet, no one is accepting donations right now so it would all have to go in the trash then end up in the landfill. Downside of everyone finally having time to clean out their closets. Unless they want to sell (which likely means more shipping, more mail over load) people have no where to recycle decluttered items

You can get these boxes that stack you get 25 boxes for like £20-30 and they take up barely any room plus they're really solid boxes it's clear one side so you can see each shoe and only takes up a small amount of space

Honestly the thing about not putting stress on the drivers by only buying essential items is sweet, but impractical. Online orders are how a lot of businesses still survived or thrived through all of this. On another note, I've made dividers for my drawers out of cardboard and contact paper! She's right though, it's a lot of effort. Plus the cardboard starts bending and breaking down after a few years... But it's prettier if you use the contact paper!

Okay so I have one thing to say about those vertical metal hanger holders. If you first hang it up by either end with all the little Groove facing upward you can hang a hanger in each open slot instead of one hanger in each open slot. Then when you let one of the sides down all of them are full. They won't fall out because the hanger is hooked over it instead of on top of it and all the tension of the shirts stacked together keeps it held taught. She's only hanging half as many hangers as she can hang on that vertical metal hanger holder

what I do with tank tops is use the hook on the hangers (as you have on the one that you put the rubber bands on)... they do not fall down this way and looks way nicer ;)

For the shoes I found a shoe rack at Walmart that fits 30 shoes and it's has wheels so it's small for a small closet but double sided so it's fits a lot of shoes saved my closet plus less than 20

You should have replaced all those mix matched hangers to the velvet hangers. Buy a 100 pack on amazon. They give you soo much room in your closet, clothes don’t slide off and they are so much more aesthetically pleasing. No rubber bands required
