Does a capsule wardrobe really simplify your life and make it easier to put together outfits? Can I create interesting outfits with only 30 pieces of clothing while working as a ~fashion influencer~? How many HobNobs can I eat in a day without transforming into one giant chocolatey biscuit? These first world problems and more in today’s video, in which I try a capsule wardrobe for a month + try on all 30 fall / winter outfits I wore over the course of this experiment.

my sister had a friend tell her once that it's better to look consistently good than consistently different. even though he constantly re-wore the same pieces, she said that he always looked super put together. i think it's unrealistic to expect people to dress differently every day, especially if we're thinking about sustainability. clothes should be made to last through multiple uses, and we should be buying clothes that we intend to wear multiple times. if anything, I really like how having a smaller wardrobe forces you to be more creative with your outfits - instead of buying a completely new piece to "freshen up" a look, you can just think about different ways to style/adjust pieces you already own. great video!

I feel like this whole "influencers need a huge wardrobe to post interesting and varied content" is more of a slight competition between influencers than an actual need from followers. Most of us don't have huge wardrobes and we're just trying to make the most out of what we have. I actually really enjoy following influencers with smallish wardrobes who repeat outfits because it's more relatable! great video as always LOVE U :)

Honestly I love seeing clothes reused on Instagram. When I realize someone is rewearing something a lot, it shows me they love that item and that’s cool. Seeing how it’s styled in multiple ways is even cooler and relatable and gives me more styling ideas for what I already own/a key piece I’m missing. the idea of having an "influencer" actively addressing the idea that you can have a smaller amount of clothes and still be highly creative and fashionable is super important! we need voices supporting slow fashion and sustainability overall. thrifting is already such cool thing, and you do such a good job of showing how you can be creative and put your own touch on secondhand clothes. most people can't afford to/ don't have lots of clothes and having examples of how we can do that while still expressing ourselves with fashion is so helpful. cheers from canada!

So many people are born in poverty or girls are marginalised that they dont have the same opportunity as well as the fact yes she worked for it but she is still probably richer then the average 20 sum year old and that having loads of clothes and money to spend on designer clothes is a privilege no matter how hard you work for it. Here is a little tip from someone who had to pack her entire life into a suitcase and pack for all four seasons because of studying abroad: 1. mainly stick to basics and pieces that you can layer. Since you don't have endless space in your suitcase I wouldn't recommend to take several chunky knit sweaters with you for winter. Like I said they take up a lot of space and are not very versitile since you won't really get a wear out of them anymore as soon as it will get warmer. So instead choose some thinner basic cardigans, t-shirts, Sweatshirts, tops and henleys that you can layer 😊 2. Get rit of the thought that your outfits always needs to look super fancy. You don't always need a super unique piece of clothing in your outfit in order to look fashionable. Let's be real: pairing for example a plain white tshirt with some cute jeans and some sneakers is a timeless outfit that will always look good and never be out of style. However, this already brings me to my next tip. 3. Choose basics that are not "too basic". What I mean by that is that little details on your clothes can change up the entire look. For example if you pair a plain T-shirt that has some button detailing in the chest area unter a cardigan, will automatically make the entire outfit look more interesting instead of pairing a very basic and plain Shirt underneath without any detailing. 4. Hairstyles and accessories can change up an entire outfit. What you need to keep in mind is that a simple outfit can look totally different depending on which accessories and hairstyles you style them with. Big statement necklaces or dainty jewelry, large earrings or smaller ones, wearing your hair up in a bun, a ponytail or leaving it open. All of those options will entirely change up the way a basic outfit looks. 5. Slip dresses/ spaghetti strap dresses are your best friend. They are literaly one of the most versatile pieces of clothing to wear all year around. You can simply wear them as a dress for days when it's very hot, or wear a Tshirt underneath to change up the style. You can wear them with sneakers to make them look more sporty and laid back or you wear them with heels for a more fancy look. You can even wear them with boots in winter. The great thing about slip dresses is that you can also wear them just as a top, by tugging it into you pants or skirt. Or you can wear it just as a skirt by layering a TShirt or Sweatshirt on Top. On colder days it is also possible to wear a long-sleeved shirt or turtleneck underneath or just throw on a cardigan and some tights 🤗 Also they are usually made of very thin material which makes them super easy to pack because they won't take up a lot of space. 6. Take a limited amount of shoes with you that fit your style an will go with every outfit. For me personally, I took a total of four pairs of shoes with me that I could wear throughout the entire year. 1 pair of white sneakers, 1 pair of black oldschool vans, 1 pair of platform boots and 1 pair of heels for more special occasions. You obviously don't need to take sneakers with you, just pick whatever kind of shoe you like that will work with as many outfits as possible. Especially when it comes to high heels. You might have several cute heels in your collection that you would love to wear on a night out, however you need to consider that shoes take up quite a lot of space in your suitcase. Also when you visit a different country you probably also want to do a lot of exploring, so taking comfortable shoes with you, in which you can walk for hours, is a must. 7. Inform yourself beforehand about the country you will be travelling to. The climate may be completely different from your home country so you should be prepared for that. There is no need to take heavy knit sweaters with you, if the country you are about to visit has a more hot and humid climate throughout the entire year. Also you might want to take less T-Shirts and Hotpants with you if you are visiting a rather cold country. There is also the possibility that some certain types of clothes are considered to be unappropriate for that country, for example clothes that are too short (skirts and shorts) or too revealing. Of course you are free to wear whatever you want but I would still recommend to adapt to the country you are visiting as best as possible in order to not be rude. 8. Plan your outfits in advance and take photographs of them. That way you have enough time to mix and match the different pieces in a various different ways and you will be surprised at how many outfits you will be able to create with a limited number of pieces. Also it will help you to determine which pieces are actually versatile and which pieces can only be worn in a very limited number of styles. This way you can throw out pieces of your collection and change them up with pieces that are a better choice, so you can make the best use of all the pieces in your suitcase. Because remember: The space in a suitcase is limited. Taking photos of those outfits will make it a lot easier for you to decide on what to wear and therefore safe you time and frustration when actually trying to pick your outfit from the limited number of items in your suitcase. I hope those tips where helpful and that everyone was able to understand what I was trying to say, because apparently english is not my first language 😅 If you have any more tips and tricks please let me know 😊

Autumn in LA is not the same as autumn in London. Those of us who grew up in northern climates and not in the US can feel the vice of the icy feeling on our legs simply watching the video and picturing mid to late October London weather. I am in love with the process of restyling and getting creative with the same pieces time and time again. I don't see how that could possibly be a negative thing... Especially if your channel is about getting creative with clothing, I think it is really inspiring (not to mention attainable) when influencers such as yourself take advantage of the opportunity to show just how fun and creative the process of putting an outfit together can be, no matter how many articles of clothing you own. Contrary, to popular belief, a capsule wardrobe isn't just beneficial to people with too many clothes, or people who are financially well off. It also helps people like me who are pretty limited in funds. It allows me the chance to look put together even if I'm poor. I don't invest in expensive clothing items either. I shop in the clearance section, and I take advantage of sales. Especially clearance sales. Also, I try to pick items that won't fall apart easily, and I take good care of my clothes (making sure I don't use too much detergent. No fabric softener. Avoiding hot water in the wash. Using a lint roller. Only use spray deodorant instead of the stick etc). I have a 24 piece capsule wardrobe. Here is a description of my capsule wardrobe: *Shoes* 1) Black sneakers with white soles 2) Black chunky ankle boots 3) Nude 3-inch heels *Tops* 4) Black scoop neck long-sleeved jersey shirt. 5) Red, cropped, scoop neck, long-sleeved, and ribbed top. It has 4 clip buttons. 6) Black v-neck t-shirt 7) Black, square-necked, long-sleeve shirt 8) Grey oversized long-sleeve sweater. Can be worn off the shoulder or a very loose neck 9) Cream turtle neck sweater 10) Black hoodie *Dresses* 11) Black long-sleeve dress with a heart neckline. Tight on the top, flowy on the bottom 12) I have the same dress in a red/orange color. The color looks red or orange or pink depending on what you wear it with. Also, it can be tucked in to look like a top 13) White spaghetti strap dress (like the one Cher wore in Clueless) Can be turned into a top or shirt and easily layered. Literally my most diverse clothing item. 14) Long, black off-the-shoulder chiffon dress. Can be worn on or off the shoulder. Can be turned short, or can be turned into a top *Pants* 15) Navy semi-bell bottom pants. It's very tight on the top, but goes straight after the knees. My most flattering pants 16) Black ripped jeans 17) Light washed high waisted skinny jeans 18) Black bellbottom ribbed leggings. Looks like pants. Can be worn up or down *Outerwear* 19) Brown trench coat with black buttons. 20) white and grey pinstriped blazer 21) Black cardigan 22) Black diamond quilted coat *Bags* 23) Brown and black cross-bodysa bag that can be turned into a purse 24) Puffy army green tote bag.
