Just a tip if you keep riding! I noticed your seat was still low after adjusting which could be why your knee and ankle were hurting! Also use the front of your foot when peddling! Hope this helps! 😊
@monesquely18 күн бұрын
Came here to say this! Susie, if you are reading this, the Peloton app has a quick step-by-step guide (video) on seat and handle bar adjustments. This will protect your back, knee, legs, booty, wrists and everything else. I usually don't know what I'm talking about but I'm an avid road cyclist and Peloton girlie so I do know this for sure haha

Me too! As a cycle instructor I just wanted to adjust you to be more comfortable.
@SusieJTodd18 күн бұрын
Every time I tried adjusting it higher it would be more uncomfortable and put more pressure on my bum 🥲 so I kept putting it back down lower again, maybe cause I have short legs?

Every time I’m desperate to go to Australia I watch a Susie blog and get reminded how big the critters are and get scared 😭 keep crushing is suze
@samanthalaine806418 күн бұрын
Three things: 1) Your seat is still too low! When you're at the bottom, your leg should be almost fully extended. That might explain some of the foot, ankle, and knee pain and will definitely not be great for your knees and back in the long run. 2) Definitely recommend the padded cycling shorts if you're going to keep cycling 3) Maybe once the weather's more reasonable in Australia you could try actually going on bike rides outside for a challenge? That way you can get some of the fun nature-exploration of running too 🚴♀

Thankyou so much for the tips! I'll definitely try them out! ❤ I am tempted to try outdoor cycling when it cools down would love some bike recommendations xox

Susie my love I think it will be easier on your back and knees if you move your seat up a little 😊 I remember my instructor told me to adjust my seat so that when my feet are in the lower part of the circle my leg should be ALMOST completely straight. Loved the video btw ❤❤

i have a peloton bike. the saddle soreness was horrible at first. but overtime, it kinda just went away. i def recommend padded bike shorts tho. the soreness went away, but i would still feel discomfort for 45+ minutes rides. my dad does road/mountain biking for hours (probably 2-3 hours a time) and always wears the padded cycling shorts.
@louisegaudet586117 күн бұрын
For the seat, I have the yesoul bike and decided to put my actual bike seat on it. Night and day difference, I think saddle seats are just more supportive

This was such a fun video! Since I haven't seen anyone say this, over time the seat won't bother you anymore, it just takes time getting used to it. Every time I get back into cycling (I keep taking long breaks) it takes me a couple weeks to sit comfortably on the bike. Welcome to the cycling club Susie 🚲💃
@annikajanz354318 күн бұрын
Hi Susie🤗💕...i think for the safety of your knees you should put the seat higher...there is a rule i think that i should be at the hight of your hip bone at the top (or something like that)😅
@HeatherGraff-jc4pk18 күн бұрын
I’ve got to say, your honest experiences throughout these Challenges are priceless, it’s such a rare thing to find nowadays! 💗 🚴

Hey Susie! Loved it, Lil tip for seat height, Stand next to the bike pull it up to your hip, hop on Drop foot to the bottom of the pedal and there should be a slight bend in the knee Handle bars are where ever in comfortable, the higher up protects lower back Cycling should not cause any injury pain,
@cassylidia89669 күн бұрын
honestly hats off to you for your amazing comedic editing, literally has me in tears every video 😂❤ also, my ass HUUURRTS so bad everytime I cycle on my bike, I was thinking of going to a bike shop to get a seat test to see where my sit-bones are (different seat shapes for different sitbone placement)

awesome work !! I am a rpm instructor from the GC. I would have loved for you to come to one of my classes at GL. Keep going with it. Set up is take your pedal all the way down and you should have a slight bend in your knee, so not straight that you have to rock your hips to push down and not to low that you can't make a full resolution with your legs. your legs will love you for these workouts
@meridith_daniel18 күн бұрын
Hey Susie! What a great video. I’ve been using a Peloton bike for 5 years now and you definitely picked a good variety of instructors. Christine usually coaches rides in the saddle because of her background in competitive biking. I’d recommend Camila - she has a similar vibe to Cody and she makes the rides feel quick. If you can, KZbin the bike setup or see if Yesoul has a link somewhere, I think that will help you feel a lot better. ❤

wow, respect that you decided to do that before Christmas even though you had so much to do! I can't even do a workout after work or go to the gym because I would have to walk there and that takes so much energy! But sometimes I've been there and done that and it was incredibly fun and it was so exhausting! Especially my 1 hour was with a man who really went for it but I stuck with it It's great that I can accompany you again this year and I'm happy that you've become more active again! I wish you both a happy new year❤

I've been re-watching your videos over the last couple days (especially decluttering and cleaning ones) so I am so pumped you've posted. I'm currently 8 months pregnant and haven't been gym once during, but I am gagging to go back once I give birth. You're always a realistic inspiration for me - aspirational, motivational but without making me feel bad or setting unrealistic choices.

🚲 Thank you for making this video! My husband and I have a Peloton and I haven’t used it in a year because I was upset I lost my weekly streak 🥲 but your video inspires me to ride it again! Also, I know everyone’s telling you, but if adjusting the height wasn’t enough, see if you can also move your seat closer or further from the handlebars and find a video to check your posture and stuff. I also think the Peloton app has a couple of intro videos that are like 5 mins long that talks you through a short ride and how your body should be feeling! Happy new year 🚲🚲 💕

I'll never judge anyone for what they where at the gym--we have a large Jewish community that dresses conservatively, and I've seen women lift in skirts, long shirts, and head coverings. It doesn't matter what you're wearing as long as it's comfortable and you can move safely imo.
