Great video. I really enjoyed it! Your research on the origin of that game is THE reason why we had the video game crash of 83 in the states. There were so many games that were just copies of other already released games and poor quality games about that many folks who were into console gaming stopped buying games entirely and/or kept returning crappy games to the stores. That caused stores to pull back on selling games due to high returns. I remember going to places like JC Penny (who sold electronics & appliances in the 70's and early 80's) or Sears and seeing clearance bins overflowing with 2600 games marked down to 99 cents each (or less!) just to try and get rid of them in 1984! One of the big reasons why the NES didn't looks like any other console and came with ROB when it was released in the states in starting in late 1985 was because retailers did NOT want to stock it at all if they thought it was going to end up like previous games consoles. That's also why Nintendo had such strict licensing requirements on the NES. Retailers practically demanded Nintendo do that in order to sell the NES in the first place!

CCE was (technically still is but they have zero employees and are practically a zombie) a Brazilian electronics company founded in 1964, infamous for its slew of awfully low-quality knockoffs. They made famiclones, Atari 2600 clones, Apple ][ clones, unlicensed carts for the 2600, the NES, I think the SNES, poor excuses of imitations of other companies’ VCRs, CD players, DVD players, televisions, microwave ovens etc. In the 1970s, they were a Kenwood licensee, which might be the only time they didn’t knock somebody off. At some point of their history, it is said that they would outsource the manufacturing to tiny national industries that were literally ran out of people’s sheds and slap their logo on it, but idk how true is that. In 2012, they were bought by Lenovo, who proceeded to crash and burn the company and then sell it back to its original owners in 2015, since when it lays dormant. Polyvox was one of its competitors, but CCE’s quality and price tag were infinitesimally inferior. Brazilian electronics history is a network of rabbit holes of their own. Edit: lolgrammar

That title is indeed quite terrifying. Sounds more like a psychological horror title honestly. Also, the whole Open Sesame connection is interesting. I personally think that Open Sesame is the origin point, mainly due to the "Open Sesame" voice clip screen, as adding something like that to a hack would be too much effort, and it would be much easier to just dummy it out. I guess someone who's got the knowledge required to reverse engineer 2600 games could check if the code for the "Open Sesame" screen exists inside "I Want My Mommy" or "Teddy Apple".

My mate comes in the room and says "wft are you doing here!" It turns out they had forgotten I was there and had left on Fridays so I was sitting there playing it night and day monged out of my face for a few days and that it was Monday haha!

It is the 12th of April 2021. Octy has uploaded a video. She awakens from a restful sleep to a rumbling. Curious yet filled with trepidation she opens the bedroom curtains and- bleary eyed and confused- sees the mass of BO and mysoginy advance over the hill toward her like a smelly Minas Tirith. The neckbearded saw the video. They saw her call the stock photo "daddy". They believe they are her type. They saw the emoji as a bat signal for those who idolise anime characters and sleep alongside body pillows which may shatter if thrown against a hard surface. Octy never thought it could happen, yet always knew. She readies an Amstrad CPC gaffer taped to a broom handle in a perverse recreation of Cloud Strife's Buster Sword and heads into battle against the hordes...... God bless you Octy. May you prove victorious.
