Tbf, gero was prob more insane then people gave him credit for after the red ribbon army. He probably latched onto goku specifically cause he killed his son, later became the blueprint for android 16. His last few years as a human were spent just collecting data and building stronger and stronger androids. I mean actually sit and think about what gero accomplished he not only studied and observed what the z fighters did for like 10-15 odd years but he also learned about ki and ki manipulation and actually made it so the androids and cyborgs he created were able to use it at will 16 being an android while 17 and 18 are cyborgs. Keep in mind that the z fighters couldn’t sense their ki, meaning it wasn’t just stored in their bodies (I have no idea how that works tbh tho lol). Not to mention when he was able to make a machine to absorb ki and drain an enemy of their ki. That’s some hardcore dedication to revenge man, the only reason we don’t see gero in this crazy state is cause he turned HIMSELF into an android meaning most of his emotions are suppressed, yknow, like even though that fat clown android was full machine he ran “in fear” of vegeta or how android 16 actually cared about the wildlife.

I don't think they Androids do have Ki. I'm under the understanding that they have some perpetual source of energy that powers them and they can use that energy to generate laser blasts much like how the Z fighters use Ki. But it's just regular plasma and they run on electricity which is why they can't be sensed. For The energy absorption models they're just able to convert Ki into electricity. The exception, of course, is Cell who just straight up has Ki.

Goku didn’t kill his son. That was something Team Four Star made up. Gevo died in an unrelated conflict as a soldier for the RR, and Gero was just pissed at Goku for destroying the Red Ribbon. 16 was created in his son’s image before Gero realized that was a bad idea because he was worried about seeing his son die a second time, so he gave him a peaceful personality instead and sealed him away.

​@@yumin_pluto558 Yeah, that's something people get confused over: Gero's son dying to Goku is fanon made and popularised by TFS (no shade on them btw, it's still an awesome concept), in Canon he simply died from an unrelated conflict that had nothing to do with Goku. As much as I'm a fan of TFS and what they've made, it IS a tad annoying to see when DBZA starts taking over how people view canon material (I believe even TFS themselves have shown frustration over it in the past).

Nah cuz wait canon wise Gero was able to make 5 androids so strong they could molly wop full power frieza off a guesstimate from SAIYAN SAGA Goku. Then there's Cell but that was with later info. Then when we break canon and look at GT was able to make another Android #17 strong enough that when fused w/og 17 was able to beat a Goku in ssj4 meanwhile said Goku just toyed with Super Perfect Cell and Frieza while they had immortal bodies and he didn't all in not only his base form, but his weaker base form because he was a kid again. Literally all Gero had to do was focus on upgrading himself and he would've been perfectly fine which I find funny now lol

Fun fact for the Dub of Super Android 13, they actually just made up lines for the Androids because in the Sub, all they say is just "Kill Goku" stuff in a usual bland robotic tone. They knew if they kept this for the Dub, it would make the villains VERY boring and decided to give them emotions only heard in the Dub which gave us #13 with his trucker accent.
