Here's a close look at a classic Ibanez AGS83B Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar. Note: The Review starts at 11:48 after the sound examples. Clean Samples are at 4:17 in the video. This one is a 2007 model, single cutaway that really sounds great for blues, rock and jazz. The pickups and neck are superb. I really like the build quality on the older Ibanez guitars, and you can usually find them for a great price used. This is part of their Artcore line - all of which are really excellent choices for those who love quality and great sound - but don't have the bucks to shell out for a big American name brand. TONY - FYI - The AGS83B features a slim, mid-sized, semi-hollow body design with an arched laminated flamed maple top with ƒ holes and ivory multi-binding on flamed maple back and sides with a single Venetian cutaway mated to a set-in mahogany neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with black binding and abalone Artcore DX position markers. The neck joint is at the 17th fret; combined with the deep cutaway this increases upper fret access. Components include a pair of Ibanez Artcore humbucking pickups with cosmo black covers and individual volume and tone controls, a Tune-o-matic style bridge, a Quik Change tailpiece, a plastic nut, a flamed maple pickguard finished to match the top, speed knobs, and Ibanez tuning machines.

I've said for many years that Ibanez semi-hollow guitars are the poor man's Gibson. Great quality build and priced very reasonable.

@@tonyleeglenn I have 2 AGS83, One flame maple that has a chunky '59 type neck and a bubinga that has a nice slim taper neck. Really nice and easy to play. Why would I pay the price for a Gibson?
