I have this exact fridge, and not only is craft ice not working, but now the top icemaker stopped. The ice tray is flexed upside down as if it just dumped a load of ice, but it's stuck in that position. The test button doesn't work. When the test button is pressed it gives me a single tone, and nothing. No error codes showing

Purchased a refrigerator 3 years ago and like a lot of people who were part of the class action lawsuit our refrigerator stopped working. 3 years? That is absolutely unacceptable. Their customer service will also then say it is a "courtesy" to be reimbursed for food loss and if they give you anything it wont be close to covering what was actually lost. Save yourself some headaches and stay away from this brand

I just paid $631.35 to replace the compressor on a 17 month old LG craft ice fridge. Already had the motor replaced on the craft ice and had to write a mean email to get LG to pay for it because it was barely out of warranty. Last week both ice makers stopped working. LG repairman came yesterday and installed new compressor. He said LG was aware there was a problem with the compressor on my fridge and if they came across them they were to replace them for “free”; however the customer pays for labor. Is that crazy or what?. And i still have no ice. I’m giving it until noon tomorrow or I’m calling the repairman again. And when I called to get the appointment, I was transferred 5 times and was on the phone for 1 hr and 22 minutes before finally getting someone to help and make the appointment. I will never ever recommend LG anything to anyone. How ridiculous that this is happening to so many customers on practically new fridges. Do better LG. Do better. And get customer service reps who understand English and don’t give you the runaround.

@renmo3974 sadly this is a very common experience from what I hear. Ours was in warranty so they covered labor as well but we lost about 400 dollars worth of food which we didn't get reimbursed for. Their products are junk that they pretty up to fool people to buy. I haven't bought a single lg product since.

The problem I have is that the in-door icemaker has failed, after 18 moths. I see that the replacement is not that hard, so I will order the part, and replace. However, if I have to revisit this same issue 18 moths from now, the major appliances that I replaced with LG products, will not get replaced with LG products, the next time.

This is a great video. My question, what if the actual ice tray (or mechanism) responsible for flipping the ice tray is not working. What I have to do is go I , take the ice container out, hit the test button, put the ice container back in so it can catch the ice. Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

i have replaced the entire auger and ice maker portion going on twice makes ice fine but auger motor does not engage even empty the flapper opens but no ice will dispense. the first unit i bought lasted maybe a month and a half. now i am replacing it again. what would cause the auger motor to go bad that quickly ????????

On another video I saw that you had to make sure the metal piece behind the ice bin has to go into the plastic on the back of the bin. We didn’t know and thought it was just to hold the bin in. It isn’t. It works the auger.

Appreciate any advice toward this issue. Ice cubes are forming in its tray for top door dispenser and bottom freezer tray, but it’s not automatically dropping them into the bucket. What could it be? If I press the reset button it drops them in, but it’ll go back to the same where it forms and won’t drop.

Decrease the water line pressure, this has caused problems in the past and has caused the ice pack to overflow and cause chunks of ice that are not uniform, that's why it blocks. Remember that water pressure is important.

Here is my problem that this video doesn't cover. The ice-making mechanism doesn't put the ice in the bucket. It's just sitting there. Anyone run into that problem. I tried turning the on/off switch, which makes it make a nice and an attempt to turn/adjust, but nothing further. I removed all the ice cubes from the tray by hand, which was a pain to do given the little space there is to stick your fingers in (that's what she said), thinking maybe something froze there. The ice tray was refilled and made ice but doesn't want to put it in the bucket. Any advice?

Check to see if the paddle that shuts off the ice maker is tripped or blocked on maybe cracked and it won’t cycle through if that paddle is not working properly,

I have this model with the glass door on the right and it has been terrible at producing ice from day one. Currently it produces enough to fill five glasses half full of ice a day at best and it is only about 5 years old. Right this moment the tray is full of ice and it will not dump it.

Hi there! Summer is here, and ice is a crucial element during this season! Let's get this issue taken care of! Are you experiencing error codes? Please check the beta gaskets (as mentioned on the 3-minute 20-second mark of the video). If these gaskets are torn, this will cause your ice to clump up which would cause dispensing issues. Also, please check the gaskets on the refrigerator door for damage and/or wear and tear. A faulty refrigerator door gasket wouldn't seal out room temperature air effectively and would cause ice clumping and dispensing issues. If the clumping occurs only at the top of the bucket, your ice maker might be overfilling and dripping water on the ice. If the clumping is only at the bottom of the bucket and the top is loose, there may be an issue with the flapper that releases ice when you request it. We found out that there was a recall. LG sent out a tech and he replaced the part. It wasn’t the ice maker but the refrigerator temperature was not getting cold enough. We haven’t had a problem since that time.

Did you even mention if the motor is not working at all?! I'm not hearing any noise and there's no movement from my auger. It's dead. What is that cause?! Hello, good video, but it did not touch on my issue. The motor is running, the Ice bucket turns, when I reset the ice maker you can hear that it is trying to load water into the ice tray, but there is no water. Now water comes out of the normal water dispenser on the outside of the fridge so I don't think it is a water pressure issue. It must be whatever diverts the water to the ice maker. Is this a simple fix or do you have a video that shows this?

The nozzle that feeds water to the ice unit appears to have a bunch of hard water scale. I think it's preventing the unit from receiving water. How to clean the nozzle?

All so if you use after market cheap generic filter it won’t generate ice due to low pressure

I have replaced the filter with LG water filter then it generates ice again. Look for cube sizes. Small cubes from low pressure

Not sure why it was never addressed that the machine isn't making ice... like not sending water into the device, buckets are empty and paths are clear, power switch toggled many times... all I saw was talking about the bucket issues and door seals. My fridge is a year old and lives in a nice house hahaha.. still looking but gonna just breakdown and call the warranty service dude! First thing to go on any fridge is the ice maker.. well, if it has one. lol But it has been that way for ever. Now their just have far more electronics in the way to make it more complicated. :)

We are so frustrated as we have purchased and returned the same French door fridge in the last 6 months. Both fridges will not dispense ice and we have tried all the online tricks that have been given. We have well water and have a reverse osmosis system on one tap in the kitchen. I believe this might be the problem but that was never revealed when we purchased the fridge. What can we do about this problem, please?

What if the ice tray isn't dumping the ice. The tray fills and freezes but when it starts rotating to dump it gets stuck. When I reset it it dumps fine. I replaced the tray unit and it still gets stuck

My ice maker in my LG fills with water makes the ice cubes it doesn't want to drop them and the ice bucket I am not finding any help on this matter I have called LG many times in the last few days and have pressed this reset button over and over and then there's a little tiny circle in the button and now they're telling me to put a paper clip up in the circle and hold it for 5 seconds and I've done that a few times too nothing's working!!

Piece of junk, had to upgrade to a regular compressor because the supposedly energy efficient linear compressor they are bragging about was the new wave, only lasted when it was new about 1-2 years, that was replaced under warranty but the approved repair man was a total A$$, and I was polite as could be. Now twice in 2 years having ice problems, replaced the icemaker and it worked again for about a year or year and a half. Now I am dealing with it again. Bought a cheaper Samsung with an icemaker about the same time as I travel 6 month between locations and that is still going strong, but I'm sure Samsungs have issues too but this LG was the worst mid to hi end fridge I have ever bought. I also think the LG is now not as cold as it use to be after the warranty work, but I need to verify with a thermometer.

On the first 4 years on my $3500 Lag refrigerator the compressor has been replaced 3 times...evaporator 3 times amd 2 ice machines. Biggest piece of Korean junk!!! I freaking hate my LG refrigerator.
