On Duchene, his first game with Ottawa was against Colorado in Sweden five days later. Couple years later in 2019, Ottawa traded Duchene to Columbus the same day they were set to play Columbus in Ottawa. Packed up his gear and walked down the hall to suit up for the visitors hours later.

Matt Duchene Trade...One of the best Trades ever Done for a Franchise. He Fails to mention the Avalanche, after that disaster of a season, in that Draft, they got Cale Makar. Then Shocked everyone by getting into the Playoffs. Then did it again the following Year and Beat the Calgary Flames in the First Round shocking everyone. A Team that Went from 48 points in 2017 to 90 points in 2019. This year as of March 30th 2022 the Avs have 100 Points.

Joel Youngblood, in baseball, tops them all. He was playing for the Mets in a day game, I believe in Chicago. Got a base hit, was traded to the Montreal Expos, was pulled from the game, took a plane to Philadelphia where the Expos were playing that night against the Phillies, pinch hit for the Expos in their night game and got another base hit. He got hits for two different teams in two different cities on the same day. It would have been even cooler if the Expos game was in Montreal because then he could say he got hits in two different countries on the same day.

In the Late 80's i remember watching a NHL game and at the Start of the Second Period. TV Announcer said there was a Trade and he showed the 2 players in their old Jerseys then their new Jerseys and said both players new numbers .

I’m family friends with Matt and I remember talking to his dad about it. Crazy how it all happens but he is living it up in Nashville with family. He loves it there, when you grew up playing the guitar and loving country music it’s gotta be nice to go to a city that is built around that. He gets to do his dream playing hockey and live in an amazing city. Also he has to be one of the most humble people i have met he rents out the local rink in Halliburton for a few days every summer and does a training session with all the local kids.

Back in 1986, on trade deadline day, the Calgary Flames acquired John Tonelli from the New York Islanders. The Flames were in NY that day, so Tonelli played against the Islanders that same night. What could have made it even more bizarre was the same day the Flames also acquired Nick Fotiu from the Rangers, who they were playing the next night, so you could have had two straight games on back-to-back nights, where guys were playing their first game for their new team against their old team. Didn't happen, though, because Fotiu didn't play for the Flames for a few more games after. The trades must have helped, because Calgary made it to the Stanley Cup Finals that year.

When the Avs we're in the playoffs in 2014, it was Duchene that turned the puck over in game 7. I can't help but also think Duchene had issues with the Avs coach Patrick Roy. To me Duchene divided the locker room. I had heard rumors he wanted Avs players to also leave the team.. He will always be selfish person. When he was traded it helped the Avs aquire Cale Makar that's a plus. Good riddance to him, I hope he never wins a Stanley Cup. He also went to the Senators he lasted not even a year. He was a main reason for ubergate, bad mouthing a coach in a uber. Duchene will always be a selfish prick to me.
