What's doubly stupid is it works on the assumption that the restaurant has the menu up to date on the website. Often the menu on the website is massively out of date, so you have to look at the physical menu anyway.

@@WebToolkit I've never seen the online menu out of date. Especially when more and more don't even have physical menus, unless you explicitly ask. Unless they have specialty daily offers, which are going to tell you. And of course the physical menu is out of date, because they don't bother to update it. Also, Apple is not going to give you an update menu, because (spoiler alert) they just do a quick Google search centred on your position and get the online menu.

Travelling around in Europe I've seen plenty of places with 4-5 years old online menus, but never heard of a physical menu being out of date. I've also only encountered online menu by default in very busy bars / fast food places in cities (where they expect things to get messy), or tourist-baits (where using your phone = cool somehow).

The fact that I keep seeing phone companies pride themselves with the fact that you can tell your phone to set an alarm by either speaking verbally or typing , even though the alarms app is stupidly easy to use, is kind of stupid. Guess what, I never use siri or google assistant, and I'm able to set my alarms every week without them.
