I am SO touched by your words today. It's like you just read my mind out loud and know exactly how I feel in my love life. You really understand our collective pain and offered practical solutions as well as the much needed love and encouragement!! I'm so thankful that God brought you to my attention to help me and give me a reason to believe. This event is both therapeutic(better than therapy. to me)and extremely helpful! It was my lunchtime so I couldn't finish watching it but I watched the rest afterwork and bought the book right away! You are my love life hero and angel this year for sure! Thank you and I can't wait to learn more from you! PS. Already listening to your existing audio book and getting enlightened in my car constantly!! Thank you Matthew you are the BEST and you made my YEAR(not just my day haha)!

Good point! my sister says good looking men know they're good looking and take advantage of it just to see how many women they can get to boost their ego. I don't even know if good looking men are interested in a relationship or even sex anymore. I could have a half dozen men tomorrow , but they wouldn't be anywhere near what i would want in a man. old ,fat, bald men think they are able to get 35 yr old sexy women and think you aren't good enough. lol

I listened to Matthew and several other coaches. The book Attached explained my attachment style of being anxious and attracted to narcissists. I knew I found the right guy when I was able to be myself, wasn’t triggered and he was everything Mathew teaches to look for. We are a great match and get along better than anyone I’ve ever known. The over the top chemistry I was always drawn to, was my misinterpretation of what real love was. Listen to as much as possible, read Attached and Matthew’s new book, which I’m ordering even though I don’t need it anymore. Information is great to share♥️ Love to you all on your journey!

As a 50yo woman, I too still get attention from men in their 20s and early 30s. These men are just looking for what they assume will be easy, “no-strings” sex with and older woman. They are NOT interested in anything more. Some of them may pretend to be interested in more, perhaps because they want financial support also. But they are NOT. Superficial attention is easy to get. Take it as a little confidence boost and use that confidence to help attract the attention of the kind of man who is genuinely interested in a relationship with you in this stage of your life.

All I know, is that if you listen to someone long enough, those words can cause some serious damage. He also said to me that no one would want to marry me and that the only men I can get are 65 year olds (I have nothing against older men, he was saying it to be derogatory) and men who would just want to have sex with me. And he knew where to hit you where it hurts.I dated a guy once and I realize now that he intentionally did the same thing. You’re welcome.☺️ We may still attract men like that at some point in our life, but we will value and honor ourselves enough to put up a boundary and protect ourselves from that when it shows up. @@christopherlamott9351 I tried to avoid your comment but decided instead to address it. I would prefer it if men admit they hate approaching women rather than just dismiss us as "too blamey", the issue is REAL and not something to just be flippant about. This means you are ok if single woman never find love due to never being asked or they should do the only job a man really should do to kick the whole process (I know you didn't say that but it's a bit implied). I still don't get why men do not want women who are actively looking or wanting to date, like what is the point of acting like you don't want to be with a loving man??? I find it hard to fathom men I see in real life that dismiss women altogether. It honestly makes NO sense to me. When a woman has her cab light on it means we're good to go. Time to get to know each other and see if we're a good fit. Who wants to be single forever?

It is hard to have to be dating again as a woman in their 50s-60s - true, we're less attractive but it's also hard to look beyond the older man physically. There are, but rare, men that age like wine and continue to be attractive, but they are usually after sweet young things. So it's a very hard task to filter out what the eyes see to find attractiveness in the person within. Whereas, if you grew old with someone, they always remain as the person you knew in their youth, their beauty is retained in your mind's eye and in the knowledge of the person you know.

This is exactly what I am feeling, too. I have learned the hard way multiple times to not lower my standards, including for how a man treats his body and how well he takes care of himself. It's also how I operate. How we look usually has everything to do with our lifestyle choices. Maybe it sounds harsh, but I'd rather be alone than have to effort to be interested in someone when I feel physically "ew-ed" by his lack of self-discipline or self-care. Maybe my standards are high? Looks aren't everything. But for some of us, including me, there is a degree to which I am unable to gaslight myself. I truly believe there are older men out there that are as into physical, mental, and spiritual health and fitness as I am, AND value maturity in a woman.

My story that limits me from finding love is that I already had a deep love and when my wife died and left me to raise our 5 kids alone, many of my friends told me I might not find a love like that again and that I should be grateful I've at least loved and lost. I love her so much that any future prospective partner has to navigate that and accept my children as well. Feels like a pretty tall order.

In a similar place, my sweet husband passed suddenly leaving me with 2 young kids and a business to run. Your love for your wife is a strength! Any real prospective partner would be open to allowing you to cherish and honour what you had together. Still, you need to be ready to move forward and make room in your heart …and mind. I keep thinking my husband would want me to have someone in my life to love, cherish, partner with. You can’t find a Replacement but maybe a new soul to love! Wishing good things for you! Hopeful for myself. Sometimes feel down about my situation, but hold my head high. Limits are shackles we put on ourselves.

Your wife sadly died, but you are still very much alive, with the rest of your life to live yet, and to be happy. Do you - or do you want to live a shadow of a life? When you are ready and have forgiven yourself for any feelings of guilt or regret, you will be open and ready for a new woman and a different romantic love. All the best.

Oh, I wish I would have caught this when it was live! I've been single and excited about dating for a long time. The important thing is that my standards have gone up my boundaries are better but the pool of men that I've had to choose from has been really difficult. They often fake a lot of qualities to hook me But I'm hopeful a good match is out there. Knowing you suffered chronic pain makes me appreciate your story and work even more. I went through something similar when I turned thirty and had the same story in my mind. I was less attractive, less loveable. Being ill aged me fast. Still struggle with chronic illness but I’m no longer hiding and I’ve learned to walk away from ppl who don’t value me bc I know my worth now. Still working on rewriting that script about attractiveness and placing my power in others hands to validate something so immaterial as looks. Side note, maybe woo woo, but feel like a lot of ppl who struggle with chronic illness/ pain are highly empathetic but don’t know how to put boundaries around this “gift” and take care of themselves FIRST. I see you’re highly intuitive and emotionally astute so I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve got that “gift.”

I am 68, a widow of 6 years and live alone. I fill my life with my house, my dog, my cats and 3 parakeets. But still alone. Love your workshop today and you’re right, I don’t date or even try as I feel safe being alone. I’ve been married 6 times … making the wrong choices has been my history. I live other people’s lives through social media. I scroll through dating sites but even that is discouraging. So I stop. I am in the process of taking care of myself better as I didn’t care about myself for 6 years. Now, I’ve been diagnosed with diabetes so I’m forced to get in better health. Yes, I do want to find love. In fact I’m going back to my 50th class reunion in September so this is my motivation. I’m already down 10 lbs and starting to tone up … for myself and my health. I do want to find love this year. My years are slowly running out.

Thank you for the inspiration and advice! I am 55 and been divorced for 13 years. For a long time I told myself I am too independent, too different and thought my value was tied to what I could do for others. Just starting to realize what I deserve and that I am lovable the way I am. I do take good care of myself but also have some fear of getting hurt. I am trying to be more open and create a full life. I know staying home and taking walks by myself isn’t exactly putting myself out there. Part of my story was also that I had kids to take care of and then my father got sick. Kids grown, father passed away. Think it is time to take care of me and allow the space for romantic love in my life. Thank you so much!😊 ❤️

I love all the wisdom Matthew provides. What saddens me is that - again - people living on or below the poverty line won't be able to buy anything because the legitimate value of a book is necessary to keep your internet (ACP just collapsed), etc. So though the wisdom is we all deserve love, those of us who are desperately poor who cannot spend money on activities etc are going to be perpetually stuck.

I knew he had a big crush on my for a few years and was just getting in his own head and sabotaging now that we were actually together so I told him we needed a break and reset and to contact me when he was ready but he decided to ghost instead (and we had been friends for 4 years before we dated so that crushed me). I think he thought I didn't like him anymore because I wanted to take a step back but I just didn't see the point in stubbornly sticking the course we were on. My wife of 10 years (we were together for 13) the last 2 maybe 3 years she gave me nothing, very little affection, no intimacy, I wasn't even sure she was still attracted to me however, I loved her unconditionally and ultimately it's me who has been left broken hearted, I pulled away over the years and I felt numb, I didn't want to spend time with her, she felt isolated and unloved and we drifted apart. We could have fixed it, but she started having an affair with a married man. It's been 5 months since we separated and my heart is just smashed to pieces while she carries on with him

Thank you so much for all the precious info and insights 🙏🏽. I've been learning a lot after coming out of a toxic relationship with a narcissist last year and I find really difficult to find a mature and honorable man that will accept me as a full time single mom of 2 kids. Big fan from Azores, Portugal

It makes me sad that so much in the dating world is women having to internalize that they are why this isn't working. Men aren't doing the work on the same level women are in personal development. When you describing your audience in the beginning, I was thinking, yeah, because your audience is women who are trying to be great partners. Many men think they can honestly be abusive and use us for their own gain. All of the women I know are in therapy and doing awesome in every aspect of their lives, other than relationships with men. It is confusing.

❤ from Germany. Keep up the good work. Chronically ill myself- that was never a problem in my dating life, bc I accepted it but didn't let that define me as a person. If a decent person get to know you better and begin to like you, the illness will nobody stop to fall in love with you.

Don’t say “men aren’t doing the work” some of us good and decent people are out here doing everything right, trust me there are some hurting awful women out here using us for dinners and jewelry and stepping out with other men a lying to our faces about it, why would we ever want to go back out there having met these heartbreaking heartless malignant narcissists?

Great steps. I’ve done this in parts but it’s really good to consider it all together.

"Building new communities" Do something new which introduces you to new people. Do a social thing that you love. ❤ I used to love aerobics and trained as an instructor. I had that idea 20+ years ago but unfortunately due to a lack of peoples commitment...I let it go. 😔 This post has been amazing because it shows I was on track with my dreams and aspirations but as soon as others are involved, things just don't progress. So maybe I'll go to a different fitness class every week. Thats a great idea. I joined a netball group a few years ago I found they weren't very inclusive despite being friendly. I'm receptive to all different types of people regardless of ethnicity. Unfortunately that isn't often reciprocated so now I don't do anything anymore with no one.

I just started the video and will continue to watch it & add to this as I go. Rn my immediate thought is when talking about the subject of dating (and my lack of success) with other people, some of them (*cough cough* it's always the married ones🙄) tell me "you're putting too much emphasis on aesthetics- try dating people you're not usually attracted to" like okay- that implies 1. I should try dating someone i'm straight up not physically attracted to (wtf kind of advice is that) 2. I should lower my standards-- the thing is I'm quite okay being alone. I don't date someone unless they meet my standards. One of those standards is having mutual attraction be present. I'm not going to waste my time when I know what is attractive to me & what isn't. So, I should settle for mediocre when I'd rather live a life as a single person that is rich in other ways 3. It implies that I can't have everything I want- and no of course I don't expect every single little box to be checked. But mutual attraction is the bare minimum and for some reason I'm being shamed into wanting that to be present. This sentiment is most often told to me by my little sister who just got married- and they are mutually obsessed with each other, mutually love & care for each other, she finds him so handsome & attractive and he finds her to be the most beautiful woman in the world. Like...I should be able to look at my man and feel the same way🙄 But yeah I should try dating ppl I don't find attractive, right. I would rather jump out a window & roll in glass. Because even though my relationships & attempts at dating have not been successful...I do tend to attract really attractive people. I know what I can pull. And she'll be like "Well these 'attractive' ppl don't treat you right so why keep trying" and to that I say- who says there isn't an "attractive person"/person I find attractive that WILL treat me well??? Like by her saying that, she's admitting that she has less faith in that happening than *I* even do & that I should just admit defeat now and settle. Absolutely not lol. Call me shallow all you want, I'd prefer being single over trying to force a connection with someone I am not attracted to. I think that's MORE than reasonable

Regardless of whether or not I’ll be the only one left alone at the party, I’m still gonna party! 🎉 I’m so happy to be a part of seeing my loved ones dreams come true. Love has many facets, we can create it in our lives even if we never obtain a partner. Love is hard even if you’re practicing it alone, or in your community, or with family and friends. Love no matter what! Love like Matthew loves us! 😂Much love to Matthew, Stephen and team who built an empire on compassion. Truly inspirational. 🎉🎉🙏
