Thank you for the video! I am 46, a husband, a father to 3 boys in sports, work full-time, run, and am training for a 50K in Oct. Life is very full and always planning to get my miles in is tough. When my son has a 10am game Saturday morning and I have an 18-mile trail run that day, my alarm goes off very early to fulfill my goals but to make sure I am back and we all go to his game as a family because I made a promise to him that I will be back in time. But like you said, if it matters to you, you will make the time! Thanks for sharing.

Honestly bros, being a father is such a level up in life. Suddenly it all makes sense. You have purpose. You have a legacy. You have value in your life. You have a reason to do it all. Forget partying or sex or money, being a dad is on a different level entirely.

Bruh stop gaslighting childfree guys. There's no need to make them feel like their lives have no value, purpose or meaning without a kid or two. And btw, most people who decide to not have kids don't do it so that they can drink, dance, travel and f*ck all day long.

@@captainkryptex1986I had a child recently. I can confirm other things don’t seem to matter. Maybe as the glow wears off. And it’s probably not the same for everyone. It’s not gaslighting it’s more a cliche that I’ve known to be true. Doesn’t mean you can’t feel fulfilled or have a purpose without children. It’s just we are human and we want to care make a difference leave something to this world. Feel connect. A child brings out those things. At the beginning of 2024 I was about to take my life… but something stoped me. I watched a lot of Nicks videos and started to train. My mind was still in a deep hole, but I was just focusing on training. Than I added healthy food and 5 month later I was clear in my mind. Somehow I knew what I wanna do, where I wanna be and what kind of role model I wann be for my 2 year old son. I feel good right know. Lost some pounds. Gained some muscles. Hear my out first...I love the drive, but it motivates, while dumbfounding me to hear you did 7 miles in an hour at a 125 bpm. I ran my first 5k in 14 years (the last time was in Iraq for the NCO run while waiting to redeploy home) this morning at 39 after 3 months of getting back into running and set a starting PB of 31 minutes with a couple massive hills and averaged a 168 bpm at a 10.2 pace average. (first mile was 9 minutes).. hearing that you ran your morning run in zone 2 floors me, though I fully understand the difference in a few months of training over a years (decade plus). Now for everyone that thinks I'm complaining, I am not. This drives me. It was watching Nick that got me into doing this 5K today, and it is what now gives me a new drive to reach a new goal in the next race. Fortunately Virginia has a fantastic running group that gives me plenty of options through the entire year.
