There are 65yr old women on my triathlon team that put in just as many training hours a week. It's not uncommon. Just discovered this channel this morning and absolutely love your approach! You strike with both sides of the Hammer, you're a "complete Athlete"! That gives me great motivation! I was running my first high milage run in the alps in Innsbruck which was 35 km and 2000 m of altitude up and down. It crushed me and I was so glad crossing the finish line, because my knees didnt hold up after half of the race, they were giving up. Still managed to cross the line in the time frame and was so thankful, I cried. Literally. Never felt that. Now im more into lifting and gained 10 kilos since the run in May and want to reach 100 soon. I feel that my breath is going short now and I really need to do more cardio, not only for my health but also to improve my lifting. I really think one needs both sides of the medal, and you Sir give proof that thats possible! Thank you!

In addition to olympic lifting in Cross Fit, there's often some gymnastics adjacent events (handstand walks, ring muscle ups for example). There also may be swimming and riding events. For Hyrox, I'd also want to point out that "60 to 90 minutes" is true for experienced and trained individuals. The record is around 52 minutes, by Hunter McIntyre. But many participants are not in any kind of good shape and may take two and even three hours. There's no time limit. They'll be walking the 1 kilometer portions, going slowly and stopping frequently in the functional strength stations. It's set up so that anybody (for a restricted definition of "anybody") can participate. There are two basic routines at each event, the open and the pro. The only difference between the two is the weights on the sleds and the weights of the kettlebells in the farmers' carry. And they have age groups as well (thankfully, since I'm 70!).

Dude, that’s awesome you’re gonna experience Hyrox. I’ve done around five of them now (2 single and 3 double). My takeaways, with all respect of course is, it is roughly 80-85% running in my opinion. I think the big dawgs are running roughly 5-6 minute miles in their kilometer run. Get those quads and hit flexors conditioned, especially for the lunges. Start lunging and pushing sleds. You’re super muscular, so that lactic acid will shoot up quick once you touch a weight. If you look at the website, you can see all the top people and their split times. If you can continue to just, keep moving, even during transitions, you’re solid. Have fun and good luck!

@sandiegojoey13 ай бұрын
@@BusinessFreedom1 I have no idea what you are trying to say. "slow ft"? What is that? And I don't doubt Nick is capable of challenging hunter if he put in the work, he's a monster and an incredible athlete. However, Hunter is an elite world Champion and this is his arena, don't think for two seconds that Nick can compete on that level without making this the center focus of his life. Anything less and Hunter would easily crush him, it wouldn't even be close. In fact, Nick is unlikely to crack the top 20 times of the Elites this season when he makes his debut, and that's perfectly normal and says nothing about his potential.
