I love the '59. That rear styling reminds me of what a Batmobile could look like. An absolute amazing build.👍👍

Thanks! I quickly learned why making a unique build is rarely done. There are no kits to transplant a Viper V10 and everything had to be engineered and fabricated. For reliability I tried to use as many original or high quality production parts as possible for all mechanics, brakes, and suspension. It is amazing that in the past 6 years the only repairs I have had to make were replacing a leaking Dana 60 pinion seal and repairing a small radiator leak. Otherwise it doesn't leak a drop or have other issues. It starts and runs like a real car.

First time ever I see a video about a -59 Belvedere 2D sedan! I own one just like it since decades now. Only options a 318 poly and a tourqueflite plus a starlight bluemetallic roof to go with that buckskin beige color. Was great to see someone else still cares for these cars.

Right on! Thanks for watching and so glad you loved it! The rarity is one reason we were drawn to it, too!

Thanks! My car also was a 318 Poly with Torqueflite, and tinted glass with radio delete. Lots of fun building this car.

That's awesome customized restoration. However, he forgot to reinforce the cabin, floor, doors, pillars and roof, and install a safety steering system, seat belts and air bags. With those extra improvements that nice 1959 Plymouth Beldevere would be the only 5 star safety. equipped classic in the world.

First thing that came to mind was Johnathan Winters hanging off the door of one of the two taxis in the "Taxi" chase scene near the end of the "Mad Mad Mad Mad World" movie. Anybody can restore a 59 Chevy but to do a 59 Plymouth??? Top-Notch job.....
@IfThisCarCouldTalk2 жыл бұрын
Wow, I had forgotten all about that movie but now that you mention it, I do remember that scene! LOL! We also love the "odd ball" cars being done instead of ones you see everywhere. Thanks Mike!

@@IfThisCarCouldTalk We have it on Blu-Ray and just watched it a few weeks ago. Wish I could go back in time and get the red 62 Dodge Dart 440 convertible before it was driven into the ravine. Breaks over.....

You are correct about the difficulty building a 59 Plymouth! Very few reproduction parts and no kits to install a Viper engine. A Chev or Ford transplant would have been a piece of cake.

We've learned a lot since creating this feature over a year ago. You'll notice we rarely use music anymore but you are the only one that's complained. Hope you enjoyed the car which is the point after all.
