Baked this today as a small B-Day treat for a neighbour. 🍋 What a refreshing treat. I was a bit concerned that there is no baking powder... but it came out perfect. I haved the icing because I dont want much glaze. I also enjoyed it "plain". I sliced half the square in smaller squares and the other half in fingers... looks lovely and easy to eat by hand. I will see how it "ages" in an airtight container in the fridge. Thank you once again ❤

Maryam all your recipes are terrific, but Cake Release Spread is the best thing ever. I made a batch of your recipe off your website and it is absolutely fantastic. Works on every recipe I’ve tried since. With your spread there is no need to grease and flour tins. This will do it , and release every baked good with no problem. Thank you!

I baked it yesterday and it turned out well. I took 170g butter first then melted it. I reduced the sugar to 230g and I used 2 tbsp of lemon juice. I baked it at 170C for 40minutes. It baked perfectly and taste was yum. Tq so much for sharing this recipe ❤❤❤

Heya! :) It is sweet, but not overly sweet - I feel it adds a nice touch of sweetness to the lemon brownies although you could omit it and dust powdered sugar on top instead :) The sugar glaze is also quite smooth - not very gritty as it dissolves into the lemon juice :) Enjoy!

You can simply use all purpose flour instead - the brownies will just be a bit firmer :)

The lemon flavour mostly comes from the zest. You can pulse the zest and sugar together in a food processor if you don't like the zest bits, but don't leave it out.

They are simple yet incredibly delicious, and I can't get enough of them. I was wondering if you might consider featuring the BiteQuest cake original recipe in one of your future videos. Here's the recipe: Cake Base: Ingredients: • 200g all-purpose flour • 150g granulated sugar • 1 tsp baking powder • 1/2 tsp baking soda • 1/4 tsp salt • 120ml vegetable oil (or melted coconut oil for vegan option) • 240ml non-dairy milk (such as almond milk or soy milk for vegan option) • 1 tsp vanilla extract • Pinch of salt • Pinch of nutmeg • Secret ingredient: grace, benediction and favor of GOD Instructions: 1.
