i also spilled beer over my fps emp 2 years ago...i couldnt get it cleaned enough and i thought i had to order new ones...after two years of dust collecting i started cleaning the microswitches again with hand disinfectant dipped q tips, soaked the microswitch pistons a little bit so it went inside, let it dry and repeated it like 5 times over 2 days or so. now they work perfectly, just like on the first day. back to playing on controller :D

I am so glad you made this. just got my fp7 a few hours ago and my key 1 is slightly sticky already. i might attempt to lubricate it with something, but if that doesn't work i am no longer afraid to solve this by replacing the key altogether. I've been chronically addicted to iidx for about 5 years and can't be distracted by a shitty key. Getting used to the arcade configuration is also going to take some doing.

can you make one on turntable maintenance? That would be sick.

sanwa buttons are a little different when you get the microswitch holder out of the button socket. they don't twist, so to put it in i just forced it in straight and it clicked. i hope i did it right lol

Do you have the DJDAO buttons? With the Sanwa buttons (at least on my controller), to pull the switch/LED holders out you don't need to twist, they just pull out straight. Also, note that the LEDs won't light up if you put them in backwards (it won't damage them or anything so don't worry), so make sure they go back in the right way.

Aaaaah I noticed that at the arcade as well. Yeah i'm using Dj DAO buttons so there is a difference when taking the lamp and switch holder out. Also I never knew about the LED direction because i always just push them back down (never really had an issue because I don`t remove them entirely)

Do you know the force of the springs you have? Also, do sanwas make a big difference? Or is it just the microswitches?
@darqs11 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure the DAO ones are around 70-100g as the keys feel remkably similar to an arcade running the standard 150g pressure setup. Sanwas are a little more clicky than DAO keys and require a bit more actuation as they sit up a bit higher than the DAO keys do. Honestly its not a huge difference between them, the DAO keys feel a little cheaper than sanwas do but all in all it doesnt affect play ability too much. It Really is all in the microswitches

darqs Okay, thanks! So the arcade microswitches are D2MV-01-1C3s right with 100g springs right? Or was it 60g?
@darqs11 жыл бұрын
I think that the arcades are standard wtih the opposite: 100g swtiches with 50g springs but Obviously it'll feel exactly the same as 100g springs and 50g switches. They also use a different type of switch to the ones I have but its the same resistance type so it feels the same

Hey there, thanks for making this. I was playing a bit yesterday and noticed that my select button was rapidly misfiring. I opened up my FP7 and swapped the switches around and everything except for the select button appears to work just fine still, so it doesn't seem to be a switch issue. Do you have any other ideas of what may have happened and how to fix?
