80s was the best decade ever for music for everything

I bought my first kit in High School @ '78! It was The Mercury 5 Imperialstar and I still play them to this day!!!

That's so cool that was the year I was born you still have that Imperial Star is it gray on the inside with that solar finish

@@miker5233 The inside shell is an off white color with black strands or threads if you will, going through it! It might be particle board! Also, Tama used to paint the inside of their shells with some kind of gravelly paint they called Zola Coat, as a water proof selling point!

I began playing drums in 1977 with my brother David (guitar) in our street fairs clubs band silver wings ✈️ test flight. I began with drums my mother purchased for me. These were "DRUMMATE" drums. That was a line that would be related to TAMA drums. The drummate drums is what I learned on and i am very proud and grateful for. ......also 'thank you mom !. (Silver wings ✈️ test flight had a long great live playing period from 1977 to 1986) . And later i was playing on TAMA brand drums.

My first kit was an '89 Rockstar 5-pc. Great tone. The best bass drum sound I ever got to this day.
