oh 1 more thing. i find the best way to clean under the bridge is to get a removable shower head for your shower and use that, works 100x better then a water pick

Kristi, I notice the inflamed side is the same side the bite hits harder, maybe a connection? Bite trauma on natural teeth can cause inflammation and surrounding bone loss as the body tries to alleviate the pressure. Don't know about implants but it would seem bone trauma is bone trauma.

No offense, but you need to stop waiting till the last minute to do this stuff. You hit the lottery with those implants, time to start being proactive. Google healthgrades

Sorry, should have updated. A member of Dr. Golpa's staff called in a prescription for some mouth wash for me… but it turned out I didn't need it. The area was mildly inflamed but not infected at all. Turns out I have a sinus infection and the pressure/pain in my face was due to that….

Thank you for giving the pros AND the cons of your implants. You make a lot of good points! You're smile is beautiful and I'm glad you were able to get your implants! Given your young age it will certainly help to retain your bone mass. I have had an upper denture for over 25 years. I managed to hold onto my lower natural teeth, sans molars lost at a young age, up until just recently. I go in early January and have the remaining lower teeth removed. I've had a new set of dentures made (which I'm not loving) and I guess I will go from there. It is disheartening when you've spent hard-earned money, but I guess I had my hopes up too high. I see that Dr. Golpa has a new contest for winning bridges such as yours. I've entered so keeping my fingers crossed!! Thanks for making your videos sweetie!! They have truly, truly helped me so much. You're wise beyond your years!

I'm using a waterpik and special "Doctor's Brushpicks" to clean around my bridge. I only have a month with the bridge but I feel that that is working. Food will always get stuck under my bridge but if you use the waterpik and toothpicks at least once a day, it is enough to keep it clean. I have no inflammation, but I've read that if you clean the area constantly, the inflammation is supposed to heal itself. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Kristi, you need to make an appointment with a Dentist sooner than later, pain, swelling and redness can be a sign of an implant infection. The sooner it is treated the better. Maybe, you are right and it is only food impacted under the gum, but you need to be sure.

I just started listening to you and I can understand you and I want to listen to you more. I need to go back in your history and find out where you got your implants done originally. It sounds like you are looking for aftercare now. I am planning on going to Costa Rica and having a full mouth restoration i.e. upper and lower arches with implants and zirconia or porcelain prosthesis. I will then be searching for an after-care dentist in the United States. I'm going to see if I can find your back history comments to learn more about you. Okay hope to chat with you sometime. Sincerely Chuck

Thanks for always letting us know what to face with the changes with dentures, implants or whatever we are going thru...I am a newbie as I am only 16 days in with full uppers & lower partials but I'm doing wonderful & starting to experiment with solid food now since I got my first soft reline 2 days ago(2 wk mark) for my uppers. in a tooth setting I learned that ur always going to have a period in time intel u look like a crackhead, Use that period when u truly need to fix it to fix it. 8/10 ur going to know u need to fix it before u turn intel a crackhead looking tooth set. that period of time is going to last a long time until u truly see yourself turning into a crackhead tooth head. it takes ALOT of time to be that way, take that time when ur engine BLOWS.

Did you get bone grafting at the time of extractions? I did and I have t had a reline in about 3 months and they still fit. I recommend that people that are going to get dentures to get the bone grafting done at the time of extractions. It seems to have helped me anyhow. Good luck and thank you for the update.

let me give u a word of advice. my uncle is a mechanic on cars and he told me if it runs great do NOT fix it. he bought a old chevy and it ran good. guess what he tried to do some work on it and it broke and he is in a whole process of fixing it to get it back to normal. the work was unnecessary. I have a completely calcified front tooth(no pulp or nerve solid) and its not going to last as long as my normal teeth, I'm going to have to implant or bridge it at some point in time. I can feel differences in it because it not like my normal teeth and it will never will be. GUESS WHAT? this point in time you will never know I had ANTHING wrong with my teeth. my teeth look normal. I live threw uncomfortable settings with my teeth but I learned to grow threw it. In other words if your engine is going to blow out keep running that engine intel it BLOWS. it might be years. don't obsess over it. fix it when it truly needs 100% to be fixed.

Should these types of dentures be a last resort? My teeth are getting worse and worse. The cost of maintaining teeth with root canals and crown is very expensive. The dentist tell me to save my teeth. They are not loose, but they do have tons of cavaties that more than half need crowns. When I did got the crowns it hurt flossing and still hurts on several teeth flossing. I do floss at least twice a day and my gums are healthy. The teeth are strong they just have tons of fillings. I don't want to ever look like I have dentures. During the healing process the gums take a good six months to heal and i would be worried that the denture line would be visible. My step dad got dentures and he said they were very painful for a long time and had to take them out to eat. I know during the healing process the gums would change and the fit of the dentures would change. How did your dentist handle the changes? Also, Did you have to learn to talk with them so it didn't sound like you had dentures on? Anyone else who could help with this information would be great. =)

No this is a long term solution and an alternative to a denture. If you listen she has had a few problems that's why i say to do it with a company that has several check ups-not just done and we don't see you again. I work for new teeth now and we do this on a regular basis if she was our patient she'd be in our clinic free of charge right now being taken care of. It's just good ethic. Implants do require maintenance & you do have to adapt. They are not like natural teeth but it's better than having no teeth. I love her videos i think she goes into all the pros and cons. If you are looking to do something and seems like youre young def invest into something long term a denture will cost you more over a long period of time and it won't compare to implants. Call 8555445089 if you want more info or subscribe to my channel i'll answer as many questions as possible :)

I'd love to see your inflamed gums.... perhaps will dissuade me from getting the hybrid and go for the straight implants even if I have to pay more!!! For easy to clean...Would you do IMPLANTS of each tooth, if you were to REDO everything??

Have you considered going back to the dentist who did your original dentures? He seemed to do a nice job and you seemed to have a good relationship with him. I got full dentures almost two years ago. Because of bone loss I am now considering getting a completely new set in 2014. To me, this is just part of living with dentures. This next time I think I'm going to get the mini implants (4) for the bottom dentures. To be able to snap them into place would be wonderful. I love my dentures.

Kristi, it is better to see a dentist sooner than later, just to rule out an infection around the implant. I have read swelling, redness and pain, can be caused from an implant infection. You might be right, it could just be food, but it is good to make sure.

Yes girl! You're smart, you know you shouldn't wait until the "emergency" happens because out of desperation you can end up with another "bad experience". Maybe some of your followers can suggest a good dentist in your area? Somebody they know already and can trust. Or Dr.Golpa can recomend someone since dentist can look each other up and know who's got a good reputation.

Thanks for your honest opinion, I need one tooth replaced, I already had the one tooth in front of it filled twice and drilled again for the third time and now wearing a temporary crown, this thing feels so annoying, the dentist wants to drill the other tooth and put a bridge, this is on my left side lower back molars but Id seriously rather just get a one tooth removable partial then deal with all drilling and annoying mouth issues and not being able to clean it easily, my dentist is good but hes really pushing the bridge but after he places the permanent crown, Im going to a different dentist to get my partial

If you call Dr Golpa's Office and ask for them to find a dentist for you in your area they will. I am on the east coast and I too have gone back for my permanent and all is good however I know realistically traveling across the country for everything that comes up is not a reality. The folks in the office will call and quiz the local dentists to ensure they know about the process and are familiar. It will take a lot of the guesswork out of choosing someone.

I don't think you're losing more bone. Usually when you get all on 4's you don't get your permanent bridges for 6-8 months. This is because of all the swelling and everything has to settle down. I think you're gums are just getting back to where they need to be but I don't think it's bone loss.

wow Kristi, thank you so much for this video! I've been contemplating getting all on 4 bridges for some time now because my teeth have been horrible and painful for as long as I can remember. I emailed Golpa's office a couple weeks ago with 3 questions. 1. can implants get infected just like teeth can and cause continuos problems? 2. implants should stop bone loss but will 4 be enough to stop noticeable bone loss? and 3 is there a wait list for the all on 4 procedure? I never heard back from Golpa's office but you answered 2 of the 3 questions. My biggest fear is that the implants can somehow get infected because you can't clean them well. My teeth are/have been ruining my life. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about them or about wanting to do something and then stopping because of my teeth. The all on 4 procedure is such a big investment, it would be hugely disappointing if I got it done and still had ongoing problems with my teeth. I just want to be done and be able to live normally and not have my teeth dictate my life. I'm so grateful for your candid and ongoing explanation of your dental journey. I guess it was silly and naive of me to think this would be a perfect fix to my problems.
