Awesome! Thank you sir. My husband has ordered both rods and reels with your recommendations and reviews. Now we have line coming too. At our age now it’s nice to move on to some higher quality gear and enjoy the experience even more. We’ve downsized and given on some gear we no longer use to hopefully help the next generation love fishing as much as we do. Thank you for all you do!

Randy, this line has been working real well for me on crappie. I ordered a couple spools of the 3lb to try out, and it is good stuff, casts better than my usual go-to Gamma Panfish 2lb for sure.

Thanks for watching. I really like this line a lot.

I think I'll try this line. I've been using SOS 2lb for a year or two and it's good but this looks interesting.

Glad you like the line, on the 8th trip on my spool. Put over 50 Panfish on the bank the last two times out with it, and still no issues. I do have a question about your spoon setup, do you use a swivel to prevent line twist, or do these spoons even twist the line? They (TVA) are spilling all 9 dams in E. TN in preparation for all this rain. The VFW lake and the new XXUL sound like a good plan.
@troutmagnetman3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. So far no line twist with the spoons. I am watching it close but I think as long as you are bringing it downstream...across stream...or of course flat water....there will not be any line twist. That is a good question I need to ask Chris though.

Hi Randy, I was wondering what kind of knot you tie from your leader to your jighead. Do you prefer a direct tie like the Palomar or Clinch or a loop knot? I've been lazy and keep using the micro snaps meant for area spoons but I've noticed that the action of the jig looks a bit strange and am thinking that the snap is interfering with the jig action.

Thank you Randy for the informative vid. Does this line require a FC leader ?

Thanks for watching......no leader required.

Right now on the varivas usa website they have a winter sale coupon code which saves you 20% on the line. I ordered a spool and am excited to try this line out. Also randy do you still use a leader with this line? I'm curious to know and if you use a leader when twitching and or spoon fishing. Thank you Randy for another great review. I will be twitching and retrieving spoons with this line !

I'm curious how well the Iprimi casts the 0.5 gram spoons. I've tried them on my Limbertip and they just don't cast well since they simply just don't load the tip enough. Should be a different story with the Iprimi's softer tip.

Curious why you want to use low stretch nylon line instead of the ester line with shock leader? Are you getting same casting distance? I may have missed it, but no shock leader with the nylon? How much do the spoons weigh?
@troutmagnetman3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I always keep one reel spooled up with nylon for Smallies....white bass...and for when I fish the White and Little Red rivers....and the Caney Fork. I love the ester line but in a current...with bigger fish......it is not the best. Ester will snap in a heartbeat and reeling bigger fish against the current break offs will happen. I always use an FC leader when trout fishing. The low stretch nylon gives you better control of the lure....it is more sensitive than. regular nylon...and you will get a quicker hook up. No line I own will cast as far as the ester with the fluoride coating on it but this line cast very well. The spoons I have range from 1.2 gram to 4.2 grams. I will be using the 1.2 gram for bluegill with ester line on an XXUL rod.

Is it invisible under water?

I don't think it is invisible but it disappears from my eyes in the water. Fishing hard baits trout are not bothered by it.
