Many thanks for your post today! We were wonderfully surprised to come across it today. We always appreciate hearing from anglers who use our JDM lines. If you ever have questions, feel free to reach out to our U.S. Office. Tight lines!

I've been ordering from the Varivas fishing in Oregon U.S. and they've been absolutely outstanding! Their customer service is top notch and have the full selection of their lines, and they have sales once in a while. Not affiliated but highly recommended.

Thank you sir for this! Great video ans I thought that I was the only one that likes to use the area clear as a leader. I use flouro most times in 2lb but this is my all around goto leader. I hope we will see a review on the gold twitch. Please try the es2 lemoni which is the new ester in yellow and like you said something about the dye. Tight lines and look forward to the next one!

With so many JDM lines out there I'm always overwhelmed when trying to pick something out. With rods, reels, and lures you can look at the specs and design and make an opinion on it without testing it. With lines you don't have that advantage. Thanks for the video.

As you can see i dont try to differentiate much between the products. They are very hard to tell apart. If you want mono for float fishing, i can tell you Varivas will have the softest mono with least stretch. Don't matter which one you buy. Buy the one that matches the color of your tackle. Thats what i do at least..

The red ajing ester line from varivas is also really fun to use. Looks amazing on the vanford that is paired on the eradicator. Easier to handle than the orange one as well. To me its sensitivity is about the same. Drop shot with both lines and I can't really tell a difference other than the red one having less memory at times. Highly recommend trying if your ever wanna experiment with more line. I'm deciding myself if I wanna try experimenting on some daiwa gekkabajin ester in the orange color and sunline ester as well.

Good stuff. Interesting observations about the Super Soft Copolymer - you mentioned it being for float fishing, but Varivas told me that line sinks. I bought it based on that advice but haven't used it yet to actually test it. You're saying it floats, huh?
@ifishcatfish
@ifishcatfish 2 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the blue line? I think i said i haven't used that one for float because it doesn't match my rods. I put it on another rod for jigging and swimbaits. I can tell you that all nylon and fluorocarbon lines are about the same, neutral buoyancy. I have never seen fluorocarbon line that sinks when u drop it in a glass of water. You have to take it down and keep it down, and then it will stay down. But take it out and drop it on top and it will float again until u sink it. Maybe they are hydrophobic.. But when u cast with a float the line really doesn't have time to sink. Unless u just put it in a rod holder and leave it..

Have you tried the varivas Ajing master Esther line, would highly recommend, it has almost no line troubles when compared to the original orange version you got, it comes in clear color as well so no leader needed, and casts just as good in my opinion

@@ifishcatfish yea the red color works great too, and for casting I'd agree with rylen that it might be slightly better even, as for sensitivy I couldn't feel a difference between the orange, curious what your thoughts will be when u spool up the red, I spooled mine on vanford with old eradicator and looked quite nice

@@kendo1426 nice. I actually used izorline for one of my powerbait reels so when the trout takes it, there’s stretch so it won’t break off. For casting light lures I’m currently using Phenix braid 3lb .08 diameter. Will definitely try varivas next time. Which one do you recommend? Area trout or twitch?

@@mattnguyen1672 try the sight edition for powerbait. It has a good bit of stretch abs easy to see for powerbait. Definitely try the area braids 4x as a starter. I have 3 spools of varivas that I just can’t convince myself to use and I was hoping you could help me. I’m trying to put them on a daiwa 1000 reel with a shallow spool, but my problem is that the 100m the varivas spools come in won’t fill up my spool, and I want it filled to the top for maximum casting. For daiwa reels I’ve noticed the friction is a lot more noticeable than in shimanos when you try casting with a spool that isn’t filled. Anyways, I tried getting around that by using a backing, but the problem is when I cast the line, it gets caught on the blood knot I made from the backing to main line so the line just stops mid cast. So what do you think I should do? Just fill the spool with only varivas and risk it not filling and effecting my range which is important to me as a shore fisherman? Or is there a better more seamless knot than the blood knot that won’t cause line to get caught on the spool as I cast?
@ifishcatfish
@ifishcatfish 2 жыл бұрын
i know exactly what your problem is, but where i don't agree is that 100 meters of line does not fill sufficiently the spool of a 1000 size shallow daiwa spool. Are you talking about some braided line? Cost any kind of mono will be thick enough to sufficiently fill it. Exactly what line do u have?

@@ifishcatfish I have the 4lb twitch master vls nylon 100m (.148mm), the 4lb master limited svg nylon 150m (.138mm), and the 2.3lb master limited super ester 150m (.117mm). The reason I’m concerned it won’t fill is bc I currently have on 2lb mono trout magnet SOS line (350yard) which is higher diameter (.16mm) and it only lasted 2.5 spools. The specs on the reel box suggest I shouldn’t have a problem. I guess I’m just being a drama queen. I’ll fill it up and let you know how it goes. Thanks for making me realize how much of a cheap wuss I’m being.

@@ifishcatfish but do you have a solution to the line getting caught on a blood knot coming out of the spool?
@ifishcatfish
@ifishcatfish 2 жыл бұрын
first of all, all of these lines will fill your spool sufficiently. Maybe the polyester will leave just a little space, but that is perfect for polyester, unless u want a big cast on your first cast. on your second question, 4 pound like will always leave a big knot. What i do is cut the tag ends completely. This risk the knot coming undone, but i don't care. Then when you are reeling line in, when the knot is about to go on the spool, STOP, and manually lay it at the top edge of the spool. There is always angle there as the line is exiting. I also manually sinch the line a little to burry the know. If you don't have tag ends, that should be enough..

I dont know the names of the Varivas lines i use. Too many names and the names are too long and i refuse to be bothered learning all these names. Here is what i can tell u: Fluorocarbon will always be more reliable than Polyester lines with same diameter, regardless of what labels say. The clear color Polyester lines are more reliable than the Orange or Red color polyesters. Varivas NYLON lines should be considered as alternative to Fluorocarbon because they have very little stretch and are very sensitive. But i dont know any names and will never know them
