Same everywhere...planes on ground due lack of flight crew n ground staff, lack of cabbies .

As a 40 year veteran of the trucking industry I'm keenly aware of micromanaging, 14 on and 10 off day after day after day ,to be that tired flying a private jet is unbelievable, my hat is off to you folks,.

Leave for the majors, they need pilots too. Age once again is less of an issue for them now.

The netjet passengers/customers should be informed. Also the jet mechanics, if they even have any.

Instead of talking about leaving it is better to leave to an airline ASAP since the seniority number is a career maker or breaker. Every new hire a head of you gets a better deal.

Too Bad, Management everywhere needs to come to the realization that they can no longer dictate pay and more Importantly also provide a quality of life that can support not just the Pilot but more importantly his or her Family.

I know many private jet pilots, every single one left for the majors, Netjets will never be a career, it's like flying for a regional.

"Our job is Harder than airlines pilots". I've done both. I've trained both. Both have their challenges but neither is "harder" than the other. I would negotiate on your own merit and not compare. That's not a winning tactic.
@LeadingEdgeFitness1 Жыл бұрын
I've also done both. Corporate flying is less spoonfed. The pilots take so much more responsibility for everything behind just flying the aircraft. Airlines ... turn up, get given your flight plan, no ground handling to organise, no toilets to be dumped, no pre and post trip paperwork. Corporate is a lot more fun with variety, but much harder behind the scene. My thoughts anyway.
@SFUndertaker Жыл бұрын
One who flew both, I can tell you, fractional flying, specifically NetJets is significantly more demanding. I could list all the difficulties from support to variety of rules / regulations, scheduling, variety of airports, aeronautical decision making, etc, etc. The statement is not intended as a private parts measuring contest. It is intended to raise awareness of the challenges and complexity our pilots face on daily bases. Yes, we all make our own choices, but that would be an oversimplification of the issues. As choices become more available and easily attainable, NetJets pilots begun to vote with their feet. Yes, for greener pasture. Easier and better paying.

“You don’t see airline pilots that tired”. Of purse you don’t, you’re not married to an airline pilot, you’re married to a fractional. I don’t see cops coming home tired, so they must not be, amiright?

Pilots listen, dont ever get this man on your management "Alan Joyce" ex QANTAS. He is looking for a job, management and the stockmarket love this guy Mr Joyce. Walked away with millions in compensation and flew QANTAS into the ground.

@NitayNostrasifu Жыл бұрын
There's pretty much no private jet company that is fully safe. That's a fact. Only owning your own plane and having your own crew ensures proper work conditions. The whole set up of private jet companies always lead to trouble unfortunately

Is NetJets union?

I would think that one problem with NETJETS is that they make their profit from selling shares while the airlines make their profit with a butt in every seat.

This is depressing. I make about $250-350K and o absolutely hate my job. HATE HATE HATE. I’ve recently discovered aviation and addicted. Badly want to start a new career. Just passed my ppl knowledge test, and close to final check ride. Was planning on going all the way. Watching this is a bummer but flying daily for a living still seems worlds better than my horrible current job
@hesh550 Жыл бұрын
Go for it you won’t regret it. You can get back to your current level of pay in 5-7 years, or even less. You will not regret pursuing aviation if you love it that much!

this story -narrative is not that different than that of a truck driver. We all know mandated off time doesn't equate to proper off time or work life balance. Just like any other company the people are liabilities not assets. When companies don't take care of the people they deserve to fail.

I’ve been a transit bus operator for the state of New York for 10 years and I have great benefits but it comes at a price. I’ve always had a dream since I was a kid about becoming a professional pilot. I’ve struggled like most with the cost of flight training but kept going and just earned my commercial ticket early this year and now I’m trying to figure whether to get my commercial multi or go for my CFII, and figure out how to pay for all of it. As a transit bus operator, we’re not only the captain but we’re also the copilot and the flight attendant and we got a deal with rude customers inconsiderate drivers split shifts driving in inclement weather and not so great life work balance as well and all for 50K a year. So try raising your family on that and cry me a river and go to the airlines then and step aside.
@martinzinho6455 Жыл бұрын
I’m a new private pilot, so I apologize if I come across as ignorant. But, how can you expect to get paid more than an airline pilot when the latter can seat almost 400 passengers? I’ve heard so many podcast episodes where the fractional/corporate pilots would talk about how they have the best job in the world, but all of these guys seem burned out.
@watchbum7380 Жыл бұрын
Geez, come on people. We all get tired at jobs. I'm an airline pilot, tired too. Mechanics get tired, welders, pro basketball players sit out from fatigue. They act like the only people who get tired are Netjets pilots. Quit and move on, if you don't like it.
@mikefinch4878 Жыл бұрын
Did you REALLY think flying corporate would have the same pay and QOL as the majors?? You all can talk about greener pastures but nothing will change until they can no longer put a$$es in seats.

Just leave…..easy. Sadly the senior pilots won’t leave and start over. They want to keep their seniority at NJ with the pay bump. The truth is that no cares outside of NJ pilot core what your pay is. Did you deliver the pax to the destination as planned? Done. The consumer will go to the lowest price , always.

The entire country has a reckoning coming soon! Not just aviation! IMHO, Y'all have it easy! If you want a real challenge... come fly Medevac! The smells are good too! Oh that sweet Sweet smell of fecal matter + ironized blood while someone's dumping their bowels, trying to die on your med crew. Puke/covid coughs in your face... all fair game! At the same time any or all of this is going on, ATC is asking, "Can you take a vector to get a rich expensive corporate jet in first?" NO! MEDEVAC!!!! ... and now we're Medevac CRITICAL - does that mean ANYTHING anymore!!!??? GET US ON THE GROUND NOW!!! NJ's sounds like a CAKE WALK, especially if y'all are getting 6 hours of sleep every night, and getting paid twice as much as us, WHILST having 2 pilots to share the workload- NOT having to do everything in 20 minutes from a dead sleep at 0200? I average 2-3 hrs sleep per day, and I haven't been able to sleep through the night in over 3 years, even on off days. Come fly Medevac, we'll make a REAL man outta you yet! Then you will, like I am about to do, go RUNNING to NJ's! Looks like with the new payscale from May 1, 2024, starting at NJ's is roughly 50% more pay than starting over somewhere like Delta/United/Fed Ex. ... just sayin'!

It amazes me how pilots and truck drivers are the same. I’ve been a truck driver for 37 years and I have drivers that complain so much but they have the time and the experience to get a better job but they won’t. That is crazy stop bitching and do better for yourself, you like the title of flying private, but you want the pay of commercial fly commercial
