Inbound sales taught me a lot about outbound I would argue. The most important thing I learned with inbound sales is that every single call is legitimate. It helped me become much more professional with outbound.

Totally agree. That is why for total beginner, I would personally think doing inbound SDR role, then doing outbound BDR role, than go to AE would be a easier natural progression. Than the other way around.

I totally agree with Patrick that outbound skill is more valuable than inbound, but from a different reason. Some Tech-Sales companies may have marketing that generate inbound calls or leads for AE(sales person) to close. But for those that don't, you would be screwed if you didn't know how to do outbound. 5:25 I would personally think doing inbound SDR role, then doing outbound BDR role, than go to AE would be a easier natural progression. I have been doing both since past 3 years but didn't knew that they are known as Inbound and outbound sales. These terms helps a lot in Interviews and while training a team. Thanks for the great lesson.

It’s important to get your prospect on the phone to sell your precut or service. Most people won’t buy an expensive product just from email.
