Testosterone is the main male hormone that ensures secondary sex characteristics. In most men, as they age, testosterone declines. Today, I'm going to present some ways to slow down this natural drop in testosterone. Obviously, what I'm about to say is for people who have low testosterone from natural causes, not pathological ones. In case there is something pathological, you should definitely visit an endocrinologist. But if you don't have pathologically low testosterone and want to ensure that it drops as slowly as possible as you get older, then in this video you will learn how to achieve this.
Drastically reduce your body fat. When I was studying medicine 30 years ago, we were taught that fat was a storehouse in which we stored excess energy. We now know that fat is the largest endocrine organ. Not only does it produce at least 16 hormones, but it plays a very important role in the metabolism of sex hormones, namely testosterone and estrogen. Fat converts male hormones into female hormones and this process is proportional to its volume. The more fat a man has, the more male hormones are converted to female hormones. This is also the reason why men with a lot increased fat several times show gynecomastia, a condition in which the male breast is more accentuated and looks like a woman's. The increased estrogen in the male body activates the mammary glands in the chest, causing the breasts to begin to take on a female-like shape. This is one external change of the increased circulation of female hormones in the male body, but it is not the only one. It is important to ensure the lowest possible fat in your body to ensure the lowest possible conversion of testosterone and androstenedione, the male hormones, to estrogen. This is the most important thing you can do. If you are struggling to reduce your body fat then I can help you. In my practice, I take on fat reduction cases with excellent results. Do not hesitate to call me to help you.
Take care of your blood sugar. Studies clearly show that people with type 2 diabetes see their testosterone decline much faster than people without the disease. It appears that on average, people with diabetes have twice as much testosterone decline over the decade as people without diabetes. Fortunately, here too nutrition, especially in combination with exercise, can significantly help treatment of diabetes and many times it is possible to avoid or even stop medication. There are many times when I have helped patients completely get off diabetes medication by just eating right.
Do systematic exercise. A combination of aerobic and anaerobic resistance training is ideal to ensure a slower decline in testosterone as you age. But it requires caution, because excessive exercise, especially if combined with excessive calorie restriction, will also lead to a decrease in testosterone. This is where attention and help from an expert is needed. Another reason why
to seek expert help is the fact that many people who exercise, especially with resistance, often injure themselves. Following an expert will ensure that the exercise is done correctly so that you avoid injuries and other problems. Take care of your sleep. Most testosterone is produced when we sleep. It's important to get enough sleep so that you don't need an alarm to wake you up, at least most days, and you don't feel sleepy during the day.
Stop smoking. Smoking is bad for everything. Among all the bad things it brings to our health, it also reduces testosterone faster than it would naturally decrease. If you are having a hard time quitting smoking, I am letting you know that I use acupuncture to help stop smoking with very good results. Feel free to contact me.
Stop or at least cut back on alcohol. Certainly alcohol is not as toxic to our health as smoking and it is more common for someone to drink a little than to smoke a little. But then again, many men drink far more than they should. Unfortunately, alcohol also accelerates the decline of testosterone, so it should be kept to a minimum.
Avoid toxins. Several environmental toxins have a significant effect on the male reproductive system. For example, Bisphenol A, known in the English literature as BPA, is a substance present in plastics that passes into food and liquids packaged in plastic packaging. Bisphenol A significantly affects our hormones. Perhaps the biggest source of this toxin is from plastic water bottles. Another group of chemical compounds that have been blamed for damaging and disrupting sex hormones are phthalates and organophosphate herbicides.
Reduce stress. Just as bad as cigarettes is for stress, which also affects our health on all levels. Needless to say, it also affects men's hormones.
Food supplements. There are some nutritional supplements that seem to help slow the decline of testosterone as we age. Well-known examples are zinc, quercetin, grape seed extract and DHEA.
