@EricSherrell

@@teddybears4life240 Yes. You might be having some tightness issues with the clothing. Most likely the clothing is not the cause, but is making the internal stagnation you have worse. Wear some looser clothing and do the arm swings. Report back and let me know how things are going. Wish you the best! :)

Yes, exactly. You've nailed it. This exercise is basically running for your arms, without the impact. Instead, you are lengthening, stretching, strengthening and pumping your arms. This reduces impact strain, increases oxygenated blood, pumps your Lungs and Heart, and strengthens your shoulder girdle. Try it out. Do 50 per day for 1 week. Then increase 50 every week. Try this for 1 month, in addition to your normal exercises. Report back with your progress. You will Love it! :)

I have COPD and my Blood Oxygen level is usually around 93%. As I have finally stopped smoking (it's only been a week), I am looking for anything that will help to slow down this disease. I did the one hundred (it was difficult for me as I have become rather inactive since my diagnosis over a year ago) but I finished. I gave myself a few minutes to rest and then took my oximeter reading. I couldn't believe that I held a 97% reading for almost 5 minutes. I will check it again in an hour or so. I am sure that it will have leveled out again near 93-94 which is normal (for me) but it really encouraged me greatly. I had to try a few different ways to inhale and exhale so that I was not becoming breathless and around the 50th time, I found my rhythm. My pulse rate also did not rise as I would have imagined. I intend on using this every day and will try to do the hundred several times through my day to build up to what feels comfortable. I am convinced this will help to live more comfortable and it, at least, makes me feel like I am more active. Thank you!

I will be adding a new "updated" video of me doing Ape Arms. This will be after doing them every day for 3 1/2 years. Some days I did a few, others thousands. Usually around 50-100 per day. Watch the new video and let me know what you think. I believe you will notice a Major Difference! :) Have Fun!

+spartan 01 Yes you can. This exercise manually opens the shoulders/chest/lung/heart area allowing for more oxygen/blood flow. Try it for 10 days and see if you feel the difference. Let me know how it goes! Keep up the great work!! :)

This really works. This exercise certainly makes you sharper and more energized and I do have some shoulder issues so this has also helped as well to get the blood flowing and the healing to that area.. Nice one!!! This will be an everyday exercise. Easy to do and effective. Thank you for sharing!!!

whenever your body wants to. There is no need to control the breath during this exercise. Your body will naturally relax and then breath when it needs to. Like it's supposed to do. ;)

Thanks for this video...I've been looking for tips to increase my lung capacity. I started swimming and find that I'm not able to make the 25m length. I'm out of air and dying frequently. I will certainly be trying this... as well as some diaphragmatic breathing.. Looking fwd to your other videos. You've got another subscriber👍👏

Thank you for pointing out the important of this exercise, as my old teacher of 20 years ago did make us do this 150 times before each Chi gong and Tai Chi class, by saying that this exercise helps to get rid of our daily tension....

I've never had a serious shoulder injury other than strained rotator cuffs from lifting weights a few years ago, but I get a lot of popping & crunching in my shoulder joints when I do this. It that abnormal?

Eric: I've added this to my AM routine since December 2018 -- 150 reps. It helps me focus on drawing air from my diaphragm to my upper chest as well as stretching my upper body. It has actually improved my singing voice. Nice to do facing an open window -- I live above Balboa Park in San Diego where the air is nicely filtered by all the trees, etc. Thank you; Happy Halloween! 💀👻😈 10/2019

I wouldn't call it monkey arms if I was as tall as a door (just teasing), but I can tell it works... last doctor's visit 2 weeks ago I had 100% blood oxygen despite having a bad bronchitis. Doing this made me feel like I had been hyperventilating. Thanks man!
