India will compete with Uzbekistan for the gold in at least the next 5 Olympiads. Their players are young and many more are upcoming. Nihal isn't even in the team right now but he can play top board for 70% of the teams that played. The US team is on the downside now with their aging recruits. There are no junior players on the level of these Indian youngsters so they might soon be recruiting again.

Wow! Prag was honored with the premiere game: Wesley played b4 and then showing what it means to be a master of the vol curve, showed Prag some Kh2 too. Still, some disappointments for me. White losing the white bishop so early to an exhange. That is why i always like to follow 3.Bc4 with 4.c3 as this way the bishop can neuver. White had no choice even after ..d6. Had to xchange bishops. And yes whites b4 is schtrong as it always is but you always leave something behind. Later on i was angry with Praag with bunching up his knights on Whites kingside but saddly, still on his half of the board unable to cross the frontlines. Whites b4 is nice but praag should have gone for the queenside attack, southpaw hooking it to an aready active white king but onky active in defending himself. On the main feature. Yes, it is anti-positional and the engines are full of shit. Consider: The hope is that the game, with perfect play is a draw. So engine designers are playing that card. They know it's impossible to solve it (most of them believe so, I am bound by a fidetiality greement, as to whether it has been solved in its current form, and what the result is) so the engine designers, unable to brut force it, what are we up to? Not even tablespaces-7 yet, right?, So they like draws. Imbalances is what gives you wins. But then as the board empties in the Kate (when Harry met Sally he 4got about Kate and being latte) midgame and endgame the likelihood that you can fight for a draw through 3bold repetition increases, as it is easy on the other extreme, in the opening when the board is full of pieces, not many places to go, can find repetition easily. So engine designers, to prove their worth, strive to achieve drawing positions as a base of operations. They use Artifecial Neural Feces as well (another grave disapointment on how to apply the idea of AI on something) And that is why "any move is a good move" coz the board will later grow sparce, more chance to find ways to draw it, and at the same time less chance to find "the only move that wins". So engines are full of shit. d5 is crap. Well unless you play connect 4 and play f3 right after? Remember: Gary lost because the engine learned from him, not because it found something on its own. And to prove that only truth lives in this comment, I solved the puzzle, within 10 seconds, because i am the best player that ever lived. After Agad explains to me what's what. Lol. Thank you Agad. PS. Lender messed up with "Nf3 defending". He should have went "Ne4 attacking" I dont get these players. India set itself up against the wall. Brought it's best players. The mightier would have been me victory and it's fall. I would have had India for breakfast. But I am good. And so is Lenier. You want it? Have it. Somewhere over the rainbow, tomorrow is another day?

People like you use the stats of population as per their convenience just to discredit. The right measure to compare is that section of population of countries which has the means to support their children if they want to take up sports as career and India would lie much below all the developed countries and a lot of developing countries in that metric. Go through the stories of what all the parents of Pragg, Gukesh, Arjun etc had to go through to support their journeys.

Next time both men's and women's India's teams need to be put into proper designer duds. There is no dearth of desihgners in India who dress many, many international celebrites, and any one would gladly take the assignment. World chess champions - good looking, bubbly young men and women - and in their grey, shapeless suits they looked.....shabby.
